Storetveit Church (Norwegian: Storetveit kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Fjøsanger neighborhood in Årstad borough in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Storetveit parish which is part of the Bergensdalen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, stone church was built in a long church design in 1930 using plans drawn up by the architect Ole Landmark. The church seats about 600 people.

Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (Norwegian: Høgskulen på Vestlandet) or HVL is a Norwegian public institution of higher education, established in January 2017 through the merging of formerly independent colleges across five campuses: Bergen, Førde, Haugesund, Sogndal and Stord. Its oldest programs - teacher education in Stord - can be traced to 1839. The total number of students at HVL is about 16000, and there are 1800 academic and administrative staff. Its main campus is in the Kronstad neighborhood of Bergen, Norway. Western Norway University of Applied Sciences provides professional education within health and social sciences, engineering, economic and administrative science, music and teaching. It offers education on the Bachelor and Master levels, continuing education, and on the Doctoral (PhD) level. Around 2700 students graduate with degrees from HVL every year. In June, 2016, after more than one year of negotiations, the executive leadership of three west Norwegian higher education institutions – Bergen University College, Stord/Haugesund University College, and Sogn og Fjordane University College – officially announced their decision to merge. From 2017, the English name is Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (abbreviated according to the Norwegian name: HVL).The founding Rector (President) was professor Berit Rokne, and in 2021 Gunnar Yttri, a historian, was appointed the institution’s Rector for the period 2021-2024.

Årstad is a borough in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Historically, the area was a separate municipality called Årstad until 1916 when it was merged into the city of Bergen. The borough has similar (but not the same) boundaries to those of the old municipality. The borough is located south of the city centre, and has a population of around 39,906 as of 1 January 2014. Årstad is home to Bergen's hospital, Haukeland University Hospital, as well as Norway's second largest vocational high school, Årstad videregående skole (the largest being Sandefjord videregående skole), and Brann Stadion, the stadium of the city's largest association football team, Brann.

Fridalen Church (Norwegian: Fridalen kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Fridalen neighborhood in the borough of Årstad in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Fridalen parish which is part of the Bergensdalen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, stone church was built in a rectangular style in 1937 using designs by the architect Peter Andersen. The church seats about 450 people.

Løvstakksiden, commonly shortened to Løvstakken or simply Stakken, is a neighbourhood in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Currently it is part of the borough of Årstad, but before 2000 it was part of a borough called "Løvstakken" which covered the eastern and western sides of the mountain Løvstakken, consisting of Fyllingsdalen in the west and Løvstakksiden in the east.Although the neighbourhood has no official boundaries, it can be said to cover the urban area to the northeast of the mountain Løvstakken, or parts of western Årstad. Løvstakksiden is not considered a "traditional" neighbourhood of Bergen, because it is located outside the core borough of Bergenhus. However it remains inside Bergen's urban area, in the borough of Årstad. Løvstakksiden is also a local parish in Bergen with two churches, Solheim Church and St. Markus Church.

The Helland House (Norwegian: Hellandshuset) is a historic house in Bergen, Norway.The structure in located on Nyhauglia near Fjøsangerbukten along the southern main entrance to Bergen. It stands in the vicinity of Gamlehaugen, the king's official residence in Bergen.The house was built on the site of the former Nyhaugen farm (Nyhaugen. nr. 15, navnegård i Fana) for renter Gerhard Krohn after he acquired the property in 1841. The house was designed in the Late Empire architecture style. It has a black glazed tile-covered hipped roof and a main facade characterized by a single temple-front design with two Doric pillars. The design has been attributed to the architect Ole Peter Riis Høegh.The house was given its current name after wealthy ship owner Peter Helland (1847–1935) purchased it around 1889. The property was later owned by journalist Rachel Catharine Grepp (1879–1961), daughter of Peter Helland and wife of politician Kyrre Grepp (1879–1922). In 2008, the property was sold by her grandson Kyrre Grepp, the son of Ole Grepp (1914–1976).The building was given protected heritage status by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage in 1924. The carriage house and servant quarters were given protected status in 1971. A privately run preschool operated in part of the building until 2014.

Kronstad Station is a former station at Kronstad in Bergen, Norway opened in 1913 and closed in 1965. It was served by trains on the Bergen Line until January 1965, when the stretch on which the station was located was closed following the opening of the Ulriken Tunnel in 1964. The former station is located south of the Kronstad Tunnel, which passes under Haukeland University Hospital and Møllendal Cemetery between Kronstad and Fløen. There were plans for converting the tunnel into a bicycle path, as it is rarely used by trains nowadays.

Fridalen is a neighborhood in the borough of Årstad in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. The neighborhood lies at the foot of mount Ulriken, between the neighborhoods of Haukeland and Landås. The main attractions in Fridalen include Brann Stadion and Fridalen Church.

Slettebakken Church (Norwegian: Slettebakken kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Slettebakken neighborhood in Årstad borough in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Slettebakken parish which is part of the Bergensdalen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, concrete church was built in a modern fan-shaped design in 1970 using plans drawn up by the architect Tore Sveram. The church seats about 600 people.

Kronstad is a neighbourhood in the borough of Årstad in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the northern part of the borough, south of the large Store Lungegårdsvannet bay, east of the neighborhood of Solheim, north of Minde, west of Landås, and west of Møllendal and Haukeland (in Bergenhus borough). The neighbourhood was named after the old Kronstad farm (whose successor is the Kronstad Hovedgård manor house), which was formerly known as "Hunstad". After the vicar of Bergen Cathedral purchased the farm in 1705, the name was changed to "Cronstad" which later changed to Kronstad.

Haukelandshallen is an indoor sport arena in Årstad borough, Bergen, Norway. It holds 5,000 people. The arena hosts mainly team handball matches, is the home arena for Tertnes HE and hosted the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship. The basketball team Ulriken Eagles also plays there.
