Storetveit Church

Minde is a neighbourhood in the southwestern part of Årstad borough in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is located south of the neighborhoods of Solheim and Kronstad, west of Landås, and north of Fjøsanger and Storetveit (in Fana borough). Parts of Minde were in Fana municipality before the merger of 1972. It is home to the Bergen offices of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, the dairy company Tine, and the headquarters of the shipping company Odfjell. The area is served by one elementary school, Minde skole. An upper secondary school, Kristianborg videregående skole, was formerly located here, operated jointly by three free churches. As it failed to attain a body of students large enough for the operation of the school to be economically viable, it closed after the end of the school year of 2007/2008. Fridalen Church is located in the neighborhood too.

The Helland House (Norwegian: Hellandshuset) is a historic house in Bergen, Norway.The structure in located on Nyhauglia near Fjøsangerbukten along the southern main entrance to Bergen. It stands in the vicinity of Gamlehaugen, the king's official residence in Bergen.The house was built on the site of the former Nyhaugen farm (Nyhaugen. nr. 15, navnegård i Fana) for renter Gerhard Krohn after he acquired the property in 1841. The house was designed in the Late Empire architecture style. It has a black glazed tile-covered hipped roof and a main facade characterized by a single temple-front design with two Doric pillars. The design has been attributed to the architect Ole Peter Riis Høegh.The house was given its current name after wealthy ship owner Peter Helland (1847–1935) purchased it around 1889. The property was later owned by journalist Rachel Catharine Grepp (1879–1961), daughter of Peter Helland and wife of politician Kyrre Grepp (1879–1922). In 2008, the property was sold by her grandson Kyrre Grepp, the son of Ole Grepp (1914–1976).The building was given protected heritage status by the Norwegian Directorate for Cultural Heritage in 1924. The carriage house and servant quarters were given protected status in 1971. A privately run preschool operated in part of the building until 2014.

Fantoft is a neighborhood of the district of Årstad in Bergen, Norway. This includes Slettebakken church, Fantoft, Slettebakken and Øvre Nattland with a total of 4097 inhabitants and 0.8 km² of land, and 0.1 km² fresh water. The area lies to the south of Tveitevannet and borders the districts of Paradis in the suburb of Fana to the South and West, and the districts of Slettebakken to the north and Nattlandsfjellet to the east (both in the suburb of Årstad). Slettebakken Church, Fantoft Studentboliger, Nattland studentby, Fantoft Stave Church, Slettebakken hovedgård and Fantoft Care Centre are located in the area, which includes apartment blocks and small houses. Fantoft is part of Fana prosti in The Church of Norway. Bybanen i Bergen has two stations in the area (Fantoft and Slettebakken).

Slettebakken Church (Norwegian: Slettebakken kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Slettebakken neighborhood in Årstad borough in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Slettebakken parish which is part of the Bergensdalen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The large, concrete church was built in a modern fan-shaped design in 1970 using plans drawn up by the architect Tore Sveram. The church seats about 600 people.

Gamlehaugen is a Royal Castle in Bergen, Norway, and the residence of the Norwegian Royal Family in the city. Gamlehaugen has a history that goes as far back as the Middle Ages, and the list of previous owners includes many of the wealthiest men in Bergen. Today owned by the Norwegian state, the most recent private owner was Christian Michelsen, a politician and shipping magnate who later became the first Prime Minister of Norway after the dissolution of the union between Sweden and Norway. Michelsen commissioned the construction of the current main building at Gamlehaugen, where he would live for most of the rest of his life. When Michelsen died in 1925, his closest friends and colleagues started a national fund-raising campaign that brought in enough money to allow the Norwegian state to purchase the property. The large English park was opened to the public the same year, and the ground floor of the house was opened as a museum two years later. Gamlehaugen has been the Norwegian Royal Family's residence in Bergen since 1927.

Fana Gymnas is a public high school located in Fana in Bergen, Norway. The school was founded in 1916 as a middle school, and the headmaster was the father of Nordahl Grieg. The school became a high school in 1935. The school was known for their annual play, Fana Skoleteater, that has existed since 1938. The play had a break between 1972 and 1986 because of a discord between the students and the administration. Later the play was managed by students and former students.

Bergensdalen is a valley in Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is surrounded by the Ulriken, Landås, Løvstakken and Nattlands mountains.

Bergenshallen is an indoor ice hockey arena in Bergen, Norway. It was built in 1968 and seats 1,800 people and has standing room for 1,200 more. The arena hosts the home games of the Bergen Flyers ice hockey team.

Paradis is a neighborhood in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is located between the neighborhoods of Storetveit in the bourough of Årstad and Hop in the borough of Fana, on the eastern shore of the lake Nordåsvannet. The name, which literally means "paradise" in Norwegian, is shared with several other locations in Norway and denotes a location with positive qualities not present in the surrounding areas. Paradis is dominated by single-family detached homes, and is the location of some of the most expensive homes in the city.

Årstad is a borough in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Historically, the area was a separate municipality called Årstad until 1916 when it was merged into the city of Bergen. The borough has similar (but not the same) boundaries to those of the old municipality. The borough is located south of the city centre, and has a population of around 39,906 as of 1 January 2014. Årstad is home to Bergen's hospital, Haukeland University Hospital, as well as Norway's second largest vocational high school, Årstad videregående skole (the largest being Sandefjord videregående skole), and Brann Stadion, the stadium of the city's largest association football team, Brann.

Fridalen Church (Norwegian: Fridalen kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the Fridalen neighborhood in the borough of Årstad in the city of Bergen. It is the church for the Fridalen parish which is part of the Bergensdalen prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, stone church was built in a rectangular style in 1937 using designs by the architect Peter Andersen. The church seats about 450 people.
