The Lafitte Greenway is a trail for pedestrians and bicycles located in New Orleans, Louisiana, extending from Louis Armstrong Park to Bayou St. John and beyond. Opened in 2015, it is the latest reconfiguration of a historic transportation corridor that has been in use for over two centuries.

The Parkview Historic District in New Orleans, Louisiana is a 263-acre (106 ha) historic district that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1995.The district included 1,349 buildings, 92 percent of which were deemed to be contributing buildings. It includes the General Laundry Building and the Jean Marie Saux Building which are separately listed on the NRHP. Angelo Brocato's Italian Ice Cream Parlor (often called Brocato's) is a family-owned ice cream parlor located in the Mid-City neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1905, it is regarded as a New Orleans institution. Severely damaged by flooding after Hurricane Katrina, its 2006 reopening was reported as a significant advance in the rebuilding of the Mid-City area.

Bayou St. John (French: Bayou Saint-Jean) is a neighborhood of the city of New Orleans. A subdistrict of the Mid-City area, its boundaries as defined by the New Orleans City Planning Commission are: Esplanade Avenue to the north, North Broad Street to the east, St. Louis Street to the south, and Bayou St. John (the waterway) to the west.

Pelican Park was a sports stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana from 1908 to 1914. The ballpark was bound by South Carrollton Avenue, Palmyra Street, Banks Street and Scott Street. A contest was conducted to name the new ballpark. "Pelican Park" won out over scores of other entries. When Pelican Park was demolished in 1914, the park's wooden grandstand was disassembled and relocated several blocks down Carrollton Avenue by mules to the intersection of Carrollton Avenue and Tulane Avenue. It reopened on April 13, 1915, as Pelican Stadium. It was home to the New Orleans Pelicans baseball organization from 1908 to 1914.

The Pitot House is a historic landmark in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Pitot House is an 18th-century Creole colonial country home located at 1440 Moss Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Pitot House is currently owned by the Louisiana Landmark Society, which uses the building as its headquarters. The house is situated on Bayou St. John and was moved several blocks from its original site in order to prevent its demolition.

Cabrini High School is an all-girls parochial high school in New Orleans, Louisiana. Cabrini is part of the New Orleans parochial school system. The campus of Cabrini High School is located along Bayou St. John, near City Park and Esplanade Avenue.

Jesuit High School is a private, non-profit, Catholic college-preparatory high school (grades 8–12) for boys run by the USA Central and Southern Province of the Society of Jesus in Mid-City New Orleans, Louisiana. The school was founded in 1847 by the Jesuits as the College of the Immaculate Conception before taking on its current name in 1911, and serves students of all religious faiths.
