John Marion Galloway House is a historic home located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. It was designed by noted architect Harry Barton and built in 1919. It is a three-story, rectangular dwelling with Tudor Revival and Bungalow / American Craftsman style design elements. It has a veneer of random-coursed granite with half-timbered gable ends, gable-roofed dormers, and a red tile roof. Also on the property is a contributing two-story double garage which once included servants' quarters.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. It is located in the Fisher Park Historic District. The house was built for John Marion Galloway (1880-1922) who was reportedly the largest grower of bright leaf tobacco in the world.

Revolution Cotton Mills, also known as Revolution Division and Cone Mills, is a historic cotton mill complex located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. The complex was built between 1900 and the mid-20th century and is an example of "slow burning construction." It includes 12 contributing buildings and 2 contributing structures. They include the main mill building, warehouses, weave room and machine shop, bleachery and dye room, storage/shipping/office building, and yellow brick chimney stack. The mill ceased operation in February 1982.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.A Winston-Salem company bought the complex for the purpose of converting it into condominiums and a shopping center. Frank Auman and Jim Peeples converted half the space into offices but after they defaulted on a loan, the property went into foreclosure. In September 2012, Self-Help Ventures bid $8 million, and renovation work began in Spring 2013. The section already upgraded had 45 tenants, and the remaining space could have 90 more. In December 2015, the city council approved an incentive grant of $1 million which required Self Help to invest $85 million by 2018. Plans included offices, artist space and 142 apartments.

The Sigmund Sternberger House (1926) is listed separately. Other notable buildings include the John C. Clapp House (c. 1900-1905), Robert L. Potts House (c. 1900-1905), William B. Vaught House (c. 1906), Edgar B. Jennette House (c. 1925-1930), and the Charles B. Aycock School (1922) designed by Starrett & van Vleck.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.

Latham-Baker House is a historic home located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. It was built in 1913, and is a two-story, Prairie School style dwelling. It has a low-pitched hip roof, broad, projecting eaves, and green terra cotta tile roof. An addition was constructed about 1916. Also on the property is a contributing carriage house, or three-car garage.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located in the Fisher Park Historic District.

Dixon-Leftwich-Murphy House, also known as the Leftwich House, is a historic home located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. It was built between 1870 and 1875, and consists of an original two-story, three-bay Gothic Revival style main brick block; a brick addition; and a gabled two-story frame rear addition. It has Italianate style details, a complex hipped roof with steep cross gables, a brick front porch added about 1920, and an enclosed two-tier rear porch.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. It is located in the Fisher Park Historic District.

Sigmund Sternberger House is a historic home located at Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Harry Barton and built in 1926. It is a two-story villa in the Renaissance Revival style. It is constructed of deep red bricks, green ceramic tiles, and sculpted gray limestone. The house features arcades and Venetian-arched porches. Also on the property are two contributing outbuildings and a contributing brick retaining wall. It has served at the home of the Sternberger Artists' Center since 1964.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. It is located in the Summit Avenue Historic District.

The Battle of Wetzell's Mill (the name may also be spelled Weitzell, Weitzel, Whitesell, Whitsell or Whitsall) was an American Revolutionary War battle fought on March 6, 1781, between detachments of Nathanael Greene's Continental Army and militia and Banastre Tarleton's Loyalist provincial troops in Guilford County, North Carolina.Greene was trying to avoid encounters with the larger British Cornwallis' larger army while awaiting the arrival of additional troops, and had sent Williams and several hundred men on reconnaissance to watch Cornwallis' movements. Cornwallis learned where Williams was on March 4, and, realizing he could be trapped because he was separated from Greene's army by Reedy Ford Creek, sent Tarleton and 1,200 men toward the ford at Wetzell's Mill. Early on March 6 Tarleton's men tried to sneak up on Williams' position, then about ten miles south of the ford. After a brief skirmish, the two forces raced toward the ford. Williams kept Harry "Light Horse" Lee in the rear to cover their retreat, and reached the ford ahead of Tarleton. His army crossed, at which point he decided to make a stand at the crossing. Tarleton's first attempt to cross was repulsed, but the second succeeded, and Williams retreated.
