Ministry of Tourism and Lands

The Ministry of Agriculture (Sinhala: කෘෂිකර්ම අමාත්‍යාංශය; Tamil: கமத்தொழில் அமைச்சு) is the central government ministry of Sri Lanka responsible for agriculture. The ministry is responsible for formulating and implementing national policy on home affairs and other subjects which come under its purview. The current Minister of Agriculture is Mahinda Amaraweera. The ministry's secretary is B. Wijayaratne.

Battaramulla is situated 8.4 km (5 mi) from the Colombo Fort, near the Parliament of Sri Lanka. It is one of the fastest developing administrative, commercial and residential areas in the Colombo District, being home to the country's elite. Battaramulla is an important town in Sri Lanka, because of the Sri Lankan government's decision to locate all the government department head offices in this town.

The Ministry of Social Empowerment, Welfare and Kandyan Heritage is the central government ministry of Sri Lanka responsible for social services, social welfare and Kandyan heritage. The ministry is responsible for formulating and implementing national policy on social empowerment and welfare and other subjects which come under its purview. The current Minister of Social Empowerment, Welfare and Kandyan Heritage and Deputy Minister of Social Empowerment, Welfare and Kandyan Heritage are S. B. Dissanayake and Ranjan Ramanayake respectively. The ministry's secretary is Mahinda Seneviratne.

The Department of Registration of Persons (Sinhala: පුද්ගලයින් ලියාපදිංචි කිරීමේ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව Pudgalayin Liyapadinchi Kirimay Departhamenthuwa) is a government department within the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sri Lanka, established in 1971. It deals with the registration of persons and the issue of national identity cards, which are mandatory in many areas of public life in Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs is the central government ministry of Sri Lanka responsible for internal affairs, development of Wayamba and culture. The ministry is responsible for formulating and implementing national policy on internal affairs, Waymba development and cultural affairs and other subjects which come under its purview. The current Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs and Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Wayamba Development and Cultural Affairs are S. B. Nawinne and Palitha Thewarapperuma respectively. The ministry's secretary is D. Swarnapala.

The Department of Wildlife Conservation (Sinhala: වනජීවී සංරක්‍ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව Vanajivi Sanrakshana Departhamenthuwa) is a non-ministerial government department in Sri Lanka. It is the government department responsible for maintaining national parks, nature reserves and wildlife in wilderness areas in Sri Lanka. Forest reserves and wilderness areas are maintained by the Department of Forest Conservation. The head of the department is the Director General of Wildlife Conservation, formally known as Warden. It was established in October 1949 with Captain Cyril Nicholas, MC as its first Warden.

The National Audit Office (Sinhala: ජාතික විගණන කාර්යාලය jātika vigaṇana kāryālaya) is a non-ministerial government department in Sri Lanka. Established in 1799, it is one of the oldest government departments in the country, and is responsible for auditing public organisations. These include all departments of Government, the Offices of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Judicial Service Commission, the Public Service Commission, the Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration, the Secretary-General of Parliament and the Commissioner of Elections, local authorities, public corporations and business or other undertakings vested in the Government under any written law. The head of the department is the Auditor General of Sri Lanka, currently Chulantha Wickramaratne.

Diyatha Uyana is located at Polduwa junction, Battaramulla near the Waters Edge Hotel. The park has been constructed on marshy land on the banks of the Diyawanna Oya. It sits between the Parliament Complex and the Diyawanna Oya at the Polduwa junction

Siri Perakumba Pirivena ( Sinhala: සිරි පැරකුම්බා පිරිවෙණ) is a historic Buddhist temple situated in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Western province, Sri Lanka. It is located at the entrance to Ethul Kotte on the Sri Jayawardenepura Mawatha road (B240). The temple has been formally recognised by the Government as an archaeological site in Sri Lanka. The designation was declared on 14 May 1971 under the government Gazette number 14958.

The 1987 grenade attack in the Sri Lankan Parliament is an attack that took place on August 18, 1987, when an assailant hurled two grenades into a room where Members of Parliament were meeting. The grenades bounced off the table at which Sri Lankan President J. R. Jayawardene and Prime Minister Ranasinghe Premadasa were sitting, and rolled away. A Member of Parliament and a ministry secretary were killed by the explosions. A subsequent police investigation concluded that the grenades had been thrown by a member of the banned Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) organization, which was staging a rebellion in the country at the time. Five members of the JVP were eventually put on trial for the attack, but were acquitted due to lack of evidence. It is believed the attack targeted President Jayawardene for his signing of the Indo-Sri Lanka Accord a few weeks earlier. The initial responsibility for the attack was claimed by an organization named Patriotic People's Movement better known as the DJV.

The Sri Lankan Parliament Complex (Tamil: இலங்கை நாடாளுமன்றக் கட்டடம்; also known as the New Parliament Complex) is a public building and landmark that houses the Parliament of Sri Lanka. Situated in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, the administrative capital, it is built on an island, surrounded by the Diyawanna Oya. It was designed by Deshamanya Geoffrey Bawa.

Diyasaru Park (formerly known as Thalawathugoda Wetland Park or Thalawathugoda Biodiversity Study Park), is 60 acre urban wetland park located in Thalawathugoda area of Sri Jayawardanapura, Colombo District, Sri Lanka. It comprises a range of wetland habitats such as marshes, flooded woodlands, lakes, and ponds. It is governed by Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation.The park was officially opened and relaunched to the public on 3 October 2017. It is open 6 days of the week from Monday to Saturday from 6am-6pm.
