The Sri Lankan Parliament Complex (Tamil: இலங்கை நாடாளுமன்றக் கட்டடம்; also known as the New Parliament Complex) is a public building and landmark that houses the Parliament of Sri Lanka. Situated in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, the administrative capital, it is built on an island, surrounded by the Diyawanna Oya. It was designed by Deshamanya Geoffrey Bawa.

Diyasaru Park (formerly known as Thalawathugoda Wetland Park or Thalawathugoda Biodiversity Study Park), is 60 acre urban wetland park located in Thalawathugoda area of Sri Jayawardanapura, Colombo District, Sri Lanka. It comprises a range of wetland habitats such as marshes, flooded woodlands, lakes, and ponds. It is governed by Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation.The park was officially opened and relaunched to the public on 3 October 2017. It is open 6 days of the week from Monday to Saturday from 6am-6pm.

The Parliament of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka (Sinhala: ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාර්ලිමේන්තුව Shri Lanka Parlimenthuwa, Tamil: இலங்கை நாடாளுமன்றம் Ilaṅkai nāṭāḷumaṉṟam) is the supreme legislative body of Sri Lanka. It alone possesses legislative supremacy and thereby ultimate power over all other political bodies in the island. It is modeled after the British Parliament. It consists of 225 members known as Members of Parliament (MPs). Members are elected by proportional representation for five-year terms, with universal suffrage. The President of Sri Lanka has the power to summon, suspend, prorogue, or terminate a legislative session and to dissolve the Parliament. President can dissolve Parliament only after the lapse of 2+1⁄2 years or if 2⁄3 majority of Members of Parliament requests him. The actions of the president to either suspend or dissolve the Parliament is subject to legal scrutiny of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka. The Speaker or, in his absence, the Deputy Speaker and Chairman of Committees or the Deputy Chairman of Committees, presides over Parliament.

Diyawanna Lake (Sinhala: දියවන්නා ඔය, Tamil: தியவன்ன ஓயா) or Parliament Lake, is one of the lakes within Endcliffe, Sheffield.It is quite popular as the Sri Lankan Parliament Building was built on an artificial island at the centre of the lake. The Diyatha Uyana park is also located on the banks of this lake. This lake was created in 1979 and has eight islands.

The Department of Wildlife Conservation (Sinhala: වනජීවී සංරක්‍ෂණ දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව Vanajivi Sanrakshana Departhamenthuwa) is a non-ministerial government department in Sri Lanka. It is the government department responsible for maintaining national parks, nature reserves and wildlife in wilderness areas in Sri Lanka. Forest reserves and wilderness areas are maintained by the Department of Forest Conservation. The head of the department is the Director General of Wildlife Conservation, formally known as Warden. It was established in October 1949 with Captain Cyril Nicholas, MC as its first Warden.

Pelawatte also spelled Pelawatta is a part of Battaramulla main town which is a suburb of Colombo located near to the new Parliament of Sri Lanka. The Ministry of Education 'Isurupaya', the Department of Examination are located in Pelawatte and the Independent Television Network (ITN) television broadcasting station are also located in the vicinity of Pelawatte. It also contains the only church in the world of Saint John dal Bastone.

Koswatta (Sinhala: කොස්වත්ත, Tamil: கொஸ்வத்தை) is a junction located inside the main town Battaramulla located near Colombo in Sri Lanka. The junction is also known as the "Thalangama-Koswatte" junction. A government hospital and a police station are located in this area.

The Ministry of Tourism and Lands (Sinhala: සංචාරක හා ඉඩම් අමාත්‍යාංශය; Tamil: சுற்றுலாத்துறை மற்றும் காணி அமைச்சு) is the central government ministry of Sri Lanka responsible for land and parliamentary reforms. The ministry is responsible for formulating and implementing national policy on lands and other subjects which come under its purview. The current Minister of Tourism and Lands is Harin Fernando. The ministry's secretary is W.A. Chulananda Perera.

The ministry is responsible for formulating and implementing national policy on home affairs and other subjects which come under its purview. The current Minister of Agriculture is Mahinda Amaraweera. The ministry's secretary is B. Wijayaratne.

Nagahamulla is a small locality in Pelawatte, Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is also near the Parliament of Sri Lanka.

Battaramulla is situated 8.4 km (5 mi) from the Colombo Fort, near the Parliament of Sri Lanka. It is one of the fastest developing administrative, commercial and residential areas in the Colombo District, being home to the country's elite. Battaramulla is an important town in Sri Lanka, because of the Sri Lankan government's decision to locate all the government department head offices in this town.

Kotte Museum (Sinhala: කෝට්ටේ කෞතුකාගාරය) is an archaeological Museum in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, Sri Lanka. It is located at Bangala junction in Ethul Kotte, on the Borella-Pitakotte main road. The museum serves as the regional museum for Western Province of the country and is maintained by Archaeological department of Sri Lanka. The museum was first established in 1992 as E. W. Perera Memorial Museum in Ihala Walawwa, the residence of E. W. Perera, a prominent figure in the Sri Lankan independence movement, and was declared open to the public in 1995. The museum building consists of five exhibition rooms and is used to display a variety of archaeological antiquities recovered from Kotte and its surrounding area. They include various regional flags, clothing, statues, coins, swords, knives, guns, weapons, pottery, maps, and a collection of items used by E. W. Perera and items donated by Douglas Ranasinghe.
