Bacton railway station was a station in Bacton, Herefordshire, England. It was located on the Great Western Railway branch line linking Pontrilas and Hay-on-Wye. The area is known as the Golden Valley.

St Margarets shares a parish council with Michaelchurch Escley, Newton, Turnastone and Vowchurch called "Vowchurch and District Group Parish Council".

Dulas is a civil parish in the County of Herefordshire in England, 18 km south west of Hereford. There is no village named Dulas, as the parish consists mainly of scattered farms and dwellings. The major buildings within the parish are Dulas Court, a Victorian country house now used as a residential home; and the now redundant church of St. Michael. The Church was the replacement for a much older building, which was demolished when the Court was built; all that remains of the original church are an ancient cross and a couple of gravestones on the front lawn of the residential home. Due to the parish's unspoilt rural nature, it is home to some nationally rare wildlife. The churchyard hosts a variety of orchids, and the Dulas brook that runs through the parish is home to otters and white-clawed crayfish.

Abbey Dore Court is a country house in Abbey Dore, Herefordshire, England. It was built in the Golden Valley in 1861 for Thomas Freke Lewis. It includes the former public house, the Red Lion Inn which was built in the early 1800s. The property was owned by the Partridge family and then later by the Prothero family of Malpas Court. The house is now surrounded by a significant plantsman's garden created by the previous owner, Charis Ward, since 1976. These, and the Stables Tearooms, were open to the public but are no longer. In 2010, the house underwent significant renovation and internal modernisation in order to be let for holiday rentals. Dore Abbey, the 1147 Cistercian abbey, which is still used as the village place of worship, is nearby. In April 2010 and September 2011, Abbey Dore Court was the subject of a Channel 4 television documentary presented by hotelier Ruth Watson as part of her Country House Rescue series.The property was sold in 2018 and is now privately owned.

Vowchurch railway station was a railway station on the Golden Valley Railway line between Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye. It served the village of Vowchurch in Herefordshire, England, from 1881. The station closed and re-opened three times before the line's closure to passenger services in 1941. The station comprised a single platform adjacent to the road and level crossing. To the west there was a goods yard which was particularly used for shipping timber. Construction materials for RAF Madley were brought through the yard during World War II. Goods services continued on the line until 1949.

The name means 'multi-coloured church', from the Old English fāg meaning 'multi-coloured'. The same derivation is found in Frome Vauchurch in Dorset.The Grade I listed parish church of St Bartholomew serves a large ecclesiastical parish. The village was served by Vowchurch railway station from 1881 to 1949.
