St Margarets is a village and civil parish 11 miles (18 km) west of Hereford, in the county of Herefordshire, England. The parish includes the hamlet of Upper Maes-coed. In 2011 the parish had a population of 180. The parish touches Abbey Dore, Bacton, Dulas, Longtown, Michaelchurch Escley, Newton, Peterchurch, Turnastone and Vowchurch. St Margarets shares a parish council with Michaelchurch Escley, Newton, Turnastone and Vowchurch called "Vowchurch and District Group Parish Council".

Turnastone is a village and civil parish 10 miles (16 km) west of Hereford, in the county of Herefordshire, England. In 2001 the parish had a population of 28. The parish touches St. Margarets and Vowchurch. Turnastone shares a parish council with Michaelchurch Escley, Newton, St Margarets and Vowchurch called "Vowchurch and District Group Parish Council".

Vowchurch railway station was a railway station on the Golden Valley Railway line between Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye. It served the village of Vowchurch in Herefordshire, England, from 1881. The station closed and re-opened three times before the line's closure to passenger services in 1941. The station comprised a single platform adjacent to the road and level crossing. To the west there was a goods yard which was particularly used for shipping timber. Construction materials for RAF Madley were brought through the yard during World War II. Goods services continued on the line until 1949.

According to the 2001 census, the parish had a population of 163, increasing to 176 according to the 2011 census.The place-name 'Vowchurch' is first attested in the Taxatio Ecclesiastica of 1291, where it appears as Fowchirche. The name means 'multi-coloured church', from the Old English fāg meaning 'multi-coloured'. The same derivation is found in Frome Vauchurch in Dorset.The Grade I listed parish church of St Bartholomew serves a large ecclesiastical parish. The village was served by Vowchurch railway station from 1881 to 1949.

Ewyas Lacy was an ancient hundred in south-west Herefordshire. It was part of the ancient Welsh region of Ewyas claimed by the de Lacy family following the Norman Conquest. It equated to the modern civil parishes of Craswall, Cusop, Llancillo, Llanveynoe, Longtown (with Clodock), Michaelchurch Escley, Newton, Rowlestone, St Margarets, and Walterstone.Ewyas Lacy ceased to be used as an administrative entity with the passing of the Local Government Act 1888. The final residual copyholds were converted to freeholds in the Law of Property Act 1922.

Poston Camp is an Iron Age hill fort located just south of Vowchurch, Herefordshire.

Peterchurch railway station was a station in Peterchurch, Herefordshire, England. The station was opened in 1901, closed to passengers in 1941 and closed completely in 1953.
