Ixelles (French, pronounced [iksɛl]) or Elsene (Dutch, pronounced [ˈɛlsənə] (listen)), is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Located to the south-east of Brussels' city centre, it is geographically bisected by the City of Brussels. It is also bordered by the municipalities of Auderghem, Etterbeek, Forest, Uccle, Saint-Gilles and Watermael-Boitsfort. As of 1 January 2020, the municipality had a population of 87,632 inhabitants. The total area is 6.34 km2 (2.45 sq mi), which gives a population density of 13,679/km2 (35,430/sq mi). In common with all of Brussels' municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch). It is generally considered an affluent area of the city and is particularly noted for its communities of European and Congolese immigrants.

The Chaussée de Wavre (French) or Waversesteenweg (Dutch) is a major street in Brussels, Belgium, running through the municipalities of Ixelles, Etterbeek and Auderghem. It starts at a crossroad with the Chaussée d'Ixelles/Elsensesteenweg near the Namur Gate in Ixelles, goes down to the Place Jourdan/Jourdanplein in Etterbeek, then goes up to the La Chasse crossroad, continues to the Arsenal crossroad with the Greater Ring. After this crossroad, the street enters Auderghem, crosses the Boulevard du Souverain/Vorstlaan, then merges with the European route E411 where it runs along the Red Cloister and then the Sonian Forest. At its end, the road crosses the Brussels Ring. This street is part of the N4 road, which connects Brussels to Arlon. It is named after the city of Wavre (Wallonia). Several places of interest are located on the Chaussée de Wavre, among which the Vendôme cinema, the Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences and the Jean-Félix Hap Garden.

CIVA, Centre for Information, Documentation and Exhibitions on the City, Architecture, Landscape and Urban Planning in the Brussels-Capital Region is a public research and cultural institution in Brussels, Belgium, devoted to architecture, urbanism, landscape, and ecological thinking. It encompasses an exhibition space, extensive archives, a specialised library, and a diverse programme of public outreach. Through exhibitions, debates, screenings, workshops, tours, and educational initiatives, CIVA fosters critical engagement with spatial culture.

Porte de Namur (French) or Naamsepoort (Dutch) is a Brussels metro station on the southern segment of lines 2 and 6. It is located under the small ring and next to Chaussée d'Ixelles/Elsense Steenweg, in the municipality of Ixelles, south of the City of Brussels (Belgium). The station opened as a premetro (underground tram) station on 20 December 1970 and became a heavy metro station on 2 October 1988. It takes its name from the ancient Namur Gate area, itself named after the Namur Gate in Brussels' old city walls.

The Namur Gate (French: Porte de Namur, Dutch: Naamsepoort) was one of the gates of the second walls of Brussels. In the 21st century, Namur Gate denotes the Ixelles neighbourhood where the gate formerly stood, rather than the former gate itself. This site is served by Porte de Namur/Naamsepoort metro station on lines 2 and 6 of the Brussels metro.

The major town houses of Victor Horta are four houses in the city of Brussels in Belgium, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. All four houses were designed and built by the Belgian architect Victor Horta (1861–1947), who pioneered the Art Nouveau style during the mid 1890s.

The Hotel Otlet (French: Hôtel Otlet, Dutch: Hotel Otlet) is an Art Nouveau building designed by Octave van Rysselberghe on the corner of Rue de Florence/Florencestraat and Rue de Livourne/Livornostraat in Brussels, Belgium. This work marks the still cautious insertion of Van Rysselberghe into the current of Art Nouveau.

The Hôtel Tassel (French: Hôtel Tassel, Dutch: Hotel Tassel) is a townhouse in Brussels, Belgium, designed by Victor Horta for the Belgian scientist and professor Emile Tassel and built from 1892 to 1893. It is generally considered the first true Art Nouveau building, because of its highly innovative plan and its ground-breaking use of materials and decoration. It is located at 6, rue Paul-Emile Janson/Paul-Emile Jansonstraat. Together with three other townhouses of Victor Horta, including Horta's own house and workshop, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2000.

The Van Rysselberghe House (French: Maison Van Rysselberghe) is a town house built by Octave van Rysselberghe in Ixelles, Brussels, Belgium. It was the personal house of Octave van Rysselberghe and is located at number 83 of rue de Livourne, a few steps from the Hotel Otlet erected by the same architect. The building, semi-detached, has a narrow facade which revolves around a protruding staircase in the form of tower. According to Pierre Loze, Dominique Vautier and Marina Vestre “this stripped-down façade, almost devoid of any decoration, fits into the pre-rationalist current that was emerging at that time.”Built in 1912, the Van Rysselberghe House was listed as a monument in 1997.

The Pro-Cathedral of the Holy Trinity (French: Pro-cathédrale de la Sainte-Trinité; Dutch: Prokathedraal van de Heilige Drievuldigheid) is an Anglican Pro-Cathedral in Ixelles, a municipality of Brussels, Belgium. It is part of the Diocese in Europe of the Church of England. The church is located at 29, rue Capitaine Crespel/Kapitein Crespelstraat, near the Avenue Louise/Louizalaan.
