The Avenue Louise (French) or Louizalaan (Dutch) is a major thoroughfare in Brussels, Belgium. It is located in the southern part of the City of Brussels, on the border with the municipality of Ixelles, where it runs south–east from the Place Louise/Louizaplein to the Bois de la Cambre/Ter Kamerenbos, covering a distance of 2.7 km (1.7 mi). It is named in honour of King Leopold II's eldest daughter, Princess Louise (1858–1924). The Avenue Louise is one of the most prestigious and expensive avenues in Brussels, lined with high-end fashion stores and boutiques, however, at night, it becomes an area of unauthorized prostitution. It also houses many embassies and offices. The avenue is served by the metro station Louise/Louiza at one end (on lines 2 and 6), as well as the tram lines 8 and 93, which run its entire length.

The Hôtel Solvay (French: Hôtel Solvay, Dutch: Hotel Solvay) is a large Art Nouveau town house designed by Victor Horta on the Avenue Louise/Louizalaan in Brussels, Belgium. The house was commissioned by Armand Solvay, the son of the wealthy Belgian chemist, industrialist and philanthropist Ernest Solvay. For this wealthy patron, Horta could spend a fortune on precious materials and expensive details. Horta designed every single detail; furniture, carpets, light fittings, tableware and even the doorbell. He used expensive materials such as marble, onyx, bronze, tropical woods etc. For the decoration of the staircase, Horta cooperated with the Belgian pointillist painter Théo van Rysselberghe. The Hôtel Solvay and most of its content remained intact thanks to the Wittamer family. They acquired the house in the 1950s and did the utmost to preserve and restore this magnificent dwelling. The house is still private property and can only be visited by appointment and under very strict conditions. The edifice is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. As of Saturday, 23 January 2021, the building will start operating as a museum and will be accepting visitors twice a week.

The major town houses of Victor Horta are four houses in the city of Brussels in Belgium, which have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. All four houses were designed and built by the Belgian architect Victor Horta (1861–1947), who pioneered the Art Nouveau style during the mid 1890s.

The Hôtel Tassel (French: Hôtel Tassel, Dutch: Hotel Tassel) is a townhouse in Brussels, Belgium, designed by Victor Horta for the Belgian scientist and professor Emile Tassel and built from 1892 to 1893. It is generally considered the first true Art Nouveau building, because of its highly innovative plan and its ground-breaking use of materials and decoration. It is located at 6, rue Paul-Emile Janson/Paul-Emile Jansonstraat. Together with three other townhouses of Victor Horta, including Horta's own house and workshop, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 2000.

Ixelles (French, pronounced [iksɛl]) or Elsene (Dutch, pronounced [ˈɛlsənə] (listen)), is one of the 19 municipalities of the Brussels-Capital Region, Belgium. Located to the south-east of Brussels' city centre, it is geographically bisected by the City of Brussels. It is also bordered by the municipalities of Auderghem, Etterbeek, Forest, Uccle, Saint-Gilles and Watermael-Boitsfort. As of 1 January 2020, the municipality had a population of 87,632 inhabitants. The total area is 6.34 km2 (2.45 sq mi), which gives a population density of 13,679/km2 (35,430/sq mi). In common with all of Brussels' municipalities, it is legally bilingual (French–Dutch). It is generally considered an affluent area of the city and is particularly noted for its communities of European and Congolese immigrants.

The Van Rysselberghe House (French: Maison Van Rysselberghe) is a town house built by Octave van Rysselberghe in Ixelles, Brussels, Belgium. It was the personal house of Octave van Rysselberghe and is located at number 83 of rue de Livourne, a few steps from the Hotel Otlet erected by the same architect. The building, semi-detached, has a narrow facade which revolves around a protruding staircase in the form of tower. According to Pierre Loze, Dominique Vautier and Marina Vestre “this stripped-down façade, almost devoid of any decoration, fits into the pre-rationalist current that was emerging at that time.”Built in 1912, the Van Rysselberghe House was listed as a monument in 1997.

The Rue du Bailli (French) or Baljuwstraat (Dutch) is a shopping street in Brussels, Belgium, running through the municipalities of Ixelles and the City of Brussels. It runs from the Avenue Louise/Louizalaan to La Trinité, via the Rue de Livourne/Livornostraat, the Rue Faider/Faiderstraat and the Rue Simonis/Simonisstraat.

The Place Eugène Flagey (French) or Eugène Flageyplein (Dutch), usually shortened to the Place Flagey, or Flagey by locals, is a square in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles, Belgium. It bears the name of a former mayor of Ixelles, Eugène Flagey (1877–1956). With ten streets converging there, the Place Flagey is one of the best connected crossroads in the city, directly adjacent to the neighbouring Ixelles Ponds. Until 1937, the square was known as the Place Sainte-Croix/Heilig-Kruisplein, but this name only now applies to the square in front of the Church of the Holy Cross on the south-western corner. The Flagey Building, also known as the Maison de la Radio, is a remarkable Art Deco building, the former headquarters of the Belgian National Institute of Radio Broadcasting, and now houses Le Flagey cultural centre. It is located on the south-western corner of the square with its entrance on the Place Sainte-Croix.

The Hotel Otlet (French: Hôtel Otlet, Dutch: Hotel Otlet) is an Art Nouveau building designed by Octave van Rysselberghe on the corner of Rue de Florence/Florencestraat and Rue de Livourne/Livornostraat in Brussels, Belgium. This work marks the still cautious insertion of Van Rysselberghe into the current of Art Nouveau.

The House and Workshop of master glassmaker Sterner (French: Maison et Atelier du maître-verrier Sterner, Dutch: Atelier en Woning van meester glasmaker Sterner) was originally the home and workshop of the master glassworker Clas Grüner Sterner, "a Viennese craftsman who specialised in stained glass windows". It is located at 6, rue du Lac/Meerstraat in the Brussels municipality of Ixelles (Belgium), not far from the Ixelles Ponds. It is a prime example of Art Nouveau architecture.

The Hôtel Albert Ciamberlani (French: Hôtel Albert Ciamberlani, Dutch: Huis Albert Ciamberlani), occasionally also referred to as the Hôtel Veuve Ciamberlani (meaning House of Widow Ciamberlani), is a listed building in Ixelles, Brussels, Belgium. It was built in 1897 as the private residence of the symbolist painter Albert Ciamberlani and commissioned by his mother. The architect was Paul Hankar, but Ciamberlani himself provided the designs for the large sgraffito decoration on the facade. The building, which was renovated in 2006, is one of the best-preserved buildings by Hankar. It is described in the official list of architectural heritage of Brussels as an "exceptional private house in Art Nouveau style" and art historian François Loyer has described its facade as one of the most beautiful Art Nouveau facades in Belgium.
