WRHM (107.1 FM) is the flagship station of Interstate 107, the branding of two country music format stations in Rock Hill, South Carolina (107.1 WRHM) and Chesterfield, South Carolina (107.3 FM WVSZ).

WOLS is a Spanish-language FM radio station broadcasting at a frequency of 106.1 MHz serving the Charlotte, North Carolina market. Its programming consists of music and other material distributed by "La Raza," the Regional Mexican radio network. While WOLS is licensed to (and identifies its location as) the Union County town of Waxhaw, North Carolina, its studios are actually located in Charlotte. The transmitter site is in Catawba, South Carolina.

The Battle of Wahab's Plantation was a surprise attack on a Loyalist camp, which included elements of the British Legion commanded by Banastre Tarleton (although at the time of the battle Tarleton had yellow fever and was not in command), by Patriot militia under the command of William R. Davie on September 21, 1780. The owner of the plantation was militia Captain James A. Walkup who served as a guide for Davie prior to the attack. Confusion has arisen over the spelling of the name Wahab as there are many spellings of the surname including, Walkup/Wahab/Wauchope/Waughup. The Loyalists were camped on the west side of the Catawba River while General Charles Cornwallis' army had camped on the east side. Davie opportunistically decided to attack the Loyalist camp, and succeeded in driving them back in complete surprise and with heavy casualties. He retreated before the British regulars arrived. The latter, in revenge for the attack, burned down Captain Walkup's house.

Indian Land High School (ILHS) is a public high school in "the Panhandle" of Lancaster County, South Carolina, United States. It is one of four high schools in Lancaster County School District.

Andrew Jackson State Park is a 360-acre (1.5 km2) South Carolina state park established in 1952 to honor the only South Carolina-born president, Andrew Jackson, who was born nearby in 1767. The park is on U.S. Highway 521 about nine miles north of Lancaster, South Carolina. The park offers hiking, boating, camping, fishing and picnicking. There are 25 camping spaces with paved road access. Each space has water hookup and electricity. They are often full on weekends, But not during the week. Nearby is a 20-acre lake with an island in the middle and hiking paths all the way around it. There is abundant Wildlife. The park's museum features exhibits about the boyhood life of U.S. President Andrew Jackson, who grew up in this region. Rooms depict Colonial period life, including a dining room, bedroom, textile room, and early tools and farm implements. A notable park feature is a large bronze statue called Andrew Jackson, A Boy of The Waxhaws, sculpted by Anna Hyatt Huntington, that depicts a young Jackson astride a farm horse. There is a marker recognizing Jackson's birthplace that was donated by the Daughters of the American Revolution. The park also includes a replica of a late 18th-century one-room schoolhouse and an amphitheatre.

Jaars, capitalized as JAARS on some maps, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Union County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. The region's name comes from JAARS, a non-profit organization that is located there.

North Carolina-South Carolina Cornerstone is a historic boundary marker located near Lancaster, Lancaster County, South Carolina. It was erected in 1813, and is located on the boundary between Lancaster County, South Carolina and Union County, North Carolina. The cornerstone was erected by commissioners appointed by the two states to survey the boundary between the western termination of the boundary line which had been run in 1764 and to the southeast corner of Catawba lands. The cornerstone is an uneven, rectangular, upright metamorphosed igneous stone marker approximately two feet high. The top part of the cornerstone, which contains the engraved notations, "N.C." and "S.C." was broken off when a car hit the marker in 1977. On the portion of the stone remaining at the original site can be seen "A.D. 1818."It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Van Wyck is a town in the panhandle of Lancaster County, South Carolina, United States. It is part of the Charlotte Metropolitan Area. Van Wyck is 29 miles (47 km) south of Charlotte. Established in the 1880s, it was to be originally named "Cocheecho", after a young Indian chief, by the Seaboard Air Line Railroad. The community opted for "Little Waxhaw" instead; however, this caused issues with the U.S. Postal Service because of confusion with nearby Waxhaw, North Carolina. The name was soon changed to "Heaths", to honor the family who gave the land for the depot, but this name was quickly dropped because of confusion with Heath Springs, South Carolina. An agent of the railroad stepped in and proposed naming the community in honor of his wife's family in upstate New York. The name "Van Wyck" comes from a Dutch habitational name for someone from any of the many places in the Netherlands named Wijk, from the Dutch word wijk, meaning "district" or "settlement". There are several ways of pronouncing the name of the community—"Van Wick", "Van Wack", and "Van Wike". Families who have lived in the area since its founding in the 1880s generally pronounce it "Van Wike". On August 15, 2017, the residents of the community voted to incorporate it as a town. Sean Corcoran was the first mayor. The Adam Ivy House and Massey-Doby-Nisbet House were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Jackson Township, population 11,012, is one of nine townships in Union County, North Carolina. Jackson Township is 59.14 square miles (153.2 km2) in size and is located in southwest Union County. This township includes the towns of Waxhaw and Mineral Springs and are located on the north side.

The Waxhaw Historic District is a national historic district located at Waxhaw, Union County, North Carolina. It encompasses 93 contributing buildings, 3 contributing structures, and 1 contributing object in the central business district and surrounding residential sections of Waxhaw. The district developed between about 1888 and 1940 and includes notable examples of Commercial Style, Queen Anne, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture. Notable buildings include the former Post Office (1905), Harris's store (c. 1920), Tyson Store (c. 1911), A.W. Heath Co. Mill (1905), R.J. Belk Company Store (c. 1894), A.W. Heath Company Stores (c. 1898), Weir Building (c. 1900), Plyler Building (c. 1907), Farmer's Ginning & Trading Company (c. 1915), McDonald Hotel (1912), Waxhaw Presbyterian Church (1929), Duncan McDonald House (c. 1888), and Ralph J. Belk House (c. 1885).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

The Waxhaws is a geographical region extending beyond both sides of the border between what now is North Carolina and South Carolina, United States. It encompasses the areas currently known as Lancaster, Union and Mecklenburg counties. The name is derived from that of the Indigenous people who first inhabited the landbase, the Waxhaw people. Much of the area is now the territory of the Catawba Indian Nation.

Adam Ivy House is a historic home located near Van Wyck, Lancaster County, South Carolina. It was built about 1849–1850, and is a two-story, vernacular Greek Revival style frame dwelling. It has a full-width, one-story front porch. Additions and renovations took place around 1920. Also on the property are two contributing outbuildings; large and small barns located near the house.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
