Simon G. Atkins Academic & Technology High School

George Black House and Brickyard is a historic home and brickyard site located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The house was built about 1900, and is a traditional one-story, three-bay, frame "triple-A" dwelling. The front facade features an almost full-width hip-roofed attached porch. Also on the property are the contributing remains of a brickmaking operation established about 1940. It was the home of African-American brickmaker George H. Black, who lived and worked on this property from 1934 until his death in 1980 at the age of 101. Black worked at Colonial Williamsburg in 1931 during the early years of restoration.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Atkins High School located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, was dedicated on April 2, 1931, as a facility for African American students. The building, equipment and grounds were valued at that time at $400,000. This was paid primarily by the city, with a grant of $50,000 from the Rosenwald Fund.

Carver High School is a traditional public high school located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States. It serves students in grade levels 9–12 as part of the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools system. This historically black school was named for George Washington Carver. The school colors are blue and gold and the mascot is the yellow jacket. There are 966 students who attend Carver High School and 94 staff members. Over 100 of these students attend the Career Center in Winston-Salem to take alternate courses not offered at Carver.

Reynoldstown Historic District, also known as Cameron Park, is a national historic district located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 183 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure (Cameron Avenue Bridge) in a planned residential development of the R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company (RJR) and historically African-American residential section of Winston-Salem. The buildings date from about 1919 to 1949, and include notable examples of Colonial Revival, Tudor Revival, and Bungalow / American Craftsman style architecture.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

WSNC (90.5 FM) is a radio station broadcasting jazz, gospel, and talk programming. Licensed to Winston-Salem, North Carolina, United States, it serves the Piedmont Triad area. The station is currently owned by Winston-Salem State University. The founding General Manager of WSNC FM was Dr. Clarence W. Thomas. In November 2017, WSNC replaced a transmitter installed in the 1990s which failed in June, causing the station to operate at a tenth of normal power using rented equipment for several months.

Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church, originally known as East Fourth Street Baptist Church, is a historic African Methodist Episcopal Zion church located at 1435 E. Fourth Street in Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1924, and is a front-gabled brick church with two prominent domed towers and flanking one-story hipped-roof wings in the Classical Revival style. The front facade features a prominent pedimented porch supported by stuccoed Doric order columns and Ionic order pilasters. The interior is based on the Akron Plan. The building was acquired by an African-American congregation split from the Goler Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in 1942. The congregation changed their name to Goler Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church in 1953.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Drive-In Studio was a recording studio in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, founded by Mitch Easter in July 1980, shortly after the break-up of his band The dB's. R.E.M.'s debut single, "Radio Free Europe" (1981), and their first extended play, Chronic Town (1982), were recorded at the studio in 1981. The studio was established in what was initially Easter's parents' garage, at 4527 Old Belews Creek Road, and became an important part of the early indie rock scene of North Carolina.At the time of R.E.M.'s stint at the studio, "the set-up was really simple," Easter said in 1994. "I had almost nothing in the studio back then, except a tape machine and a console and two compressors and one delay device. We couldn't do any fancy stuff."Easter explained the studio's layout in 2021: [The studio] was tiny. The entire space was probably about 225 square feet. It was a two-car garage that had been divided up before my parents got the place. The previous owners split it up and turned it into a one-car garage, and then the other half they made into a children’s bedroom and this sort of utility room. The car area was where the band stood together, the children’s bedroom was the control room, and I think the bass and guitar amps were isolated in the little utility area next to the control room.Due to the confined space of the interior, studio sessions often also took place in the home's driveway, under the carport.

Smith Reynolds Airport (IATA: INT, ICAO: KINT, FAA LID: INT) is a public airport 3 miles (5 km) northeast of Winston-Salem in Forsyth County, North Carolina. The airport has two runways, and is used for general aviation and flight training as there is now no scheduled passenger airline (which is handled locally by the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro). Smith Reynolds was once home to the Winston-Salem air show, usually held in September, which drew about 20,000 spectators. There has not been an Airshow since 2015. The Airport has multiple flight schools and maintenance facilities. Smith Reynolds also has an operational control tower that operates from 6:00 AM to 9:30 PM every day of the year. INT covers 702 acres (284 ha) of land.

The C.E. Gaines Center is a basketball arena on the campus of Winston-Salem State University. It is named for former WSSU men's basketball coach Clarence "Bighouse" Gaines, who led the men's basketball team for 47 years. The facility has a capacity of 3,200 spectators and opened in 1978.

Mars Hill Baptist Church, also known as Fries Memorial Moravian Church, is a historic African-American Baptist church located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1915, and is a T-shaped brick building with corner tower in the Gothic Revival style. Also on the property is the parsonage; a one-story, pebble-dash finished Queen Anne style dwelling. It has a high hipped roof, a central hipped dormer, and a hipped-roof full-front porch supported by fluted columns. It was originally built for a white Moravian congregation, until the Mars Hill Baptist Church congregation purchased the building in 1944 for $4,000.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.
