J. Sterling Morton High School East

J. Sterling Morton High School East Auditorium, also known as Chodl Auditorium, is a Beaux-Arts building in Cicero, Illinois that was built in 1925. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. With a seating capacity of 2,545 the Chodl Auditorium was a popular place for community events and high school productions. It was the largest high school auditorium and non-commercial stage in the state. The stage, in fact, was big enough to serve as a regulation basketball floor. Theatrical productions were staged in the fall and spring when gym classes were held outside. On September 18, 2013, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performed their 2013 Community Concert at Chodl Auditorium. More than 2,000 individuals attended the concert, including Illinois Lieutenant Governor Sheila Simon and local dignitaries.

Klas was a restaurant in Cicero, Illinois, founded in 1922 and shuttered in 2016, which specialized in Bohemian cuisine. The restaurant served numerous high ranking Czech and American officials, along with many other notable individuals, and has served as an important institution for the Czech American community. The building was demolished in 2022.

Clyde was a station on Metra's BNSF Railway Line. The station was located at 29th Street and Austin Boulevard, in Cicero, Illinois. Clyde was 8.5 miles (13.7 km) from Union Station, the eastern terminus of the BNSF railway line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, Clyde was located in zone B, on the west end of the Cicero Railroad Yard. Clyde closed on April 1, 2007, due to low ridership; to compensate for the loss of the station, Metra announced that it would rehabilitate the adjacent Cicero and LaVergne stations.Ridership was only 64 passengers on an average weekday around the time of the station's closure

54th/Cermak is an 'L' station and the current terminus of the CTA's Pink Line. It was the terminus of the former Cermak branch of the Blue Line. It is located at Cermak Road between 54th and Laramie Avenues in Cicero, Illinois. It is the only terminal with only one track used for service. Trains board on the eastern half of 54th/Cermak station and unload on the western half. Previously known as the Cicero-Berwyn Terminal, it is located about 1 mile (1.6 km) from the city of Berwyn. Tracks continue westward to the 54th Yard, the maintenance and storage yard for Pink Line trains.

LaVergne is one of three stations on Metra's BNSF Line located in Berwyn, Illinois. The station is 9.0 miles (14.5 km) away from Union Station, the eastern terminus of the line. In Metra's zone-based fare system, LaVergne is in zone B. As of 2018, LaVergne is the 167th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 174 weekday boardings. It is just west of the large BNSF Cicero Yard and the Canadian National's (former Illinois Central Railroad) Freeport Subdivision.

The Berwyn Health Center is a historic public health clinic at 6600 W. 26th Street in Berwyn, Illinois. Built in 1938–39, the building provided an expanded home for the city's health department. In addition to providing healthcare and leading vaccination efforts, the department was responsible for food inspection and Great Depression relief programs in the 1930s, and the new building gave it the space and resources it needed to accomplish its many duties. Along with the city's municipal building and post office, the health center was one of three buildings built in Berwyn with Public Works Administration funds in a three-year period. Architect Vladimir J. Novak, a Berwyn resident, designed the building using elements of Art Deco and Moderne architecture. Both styles were commonly used, often together, in PWA buildings; in the case of the health center, its Art Deco influence is visible in its geometric massing, while its horizontal banding is a typical Moderne feature. The building remains in use as a health clinic and government office.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 21, 2002.

The Central Berwyn Bungalow Historic District is a residential historic district in Berwyn, Illinois. The district includes 1,358 contributing buildings, 1,109 of which are brick Chicago bungalows and another 156 of which are bungalows in other styles. The homes were built between 1900 and 1949, with the majority of them being built in the mid-1920s. Tens of thousands of bungalows were built in the Chicago area in the early twentieth century, as their affordability made them popular with the working class. Many of Berwyn's bungalows were purchased by Czech Americans, who moved to Berwyn in great numbers in the 1920s and accounted for 25% of the city's population by 1930. While bungalows typically had uniform designs, they were distinguished by their entrances, porches, and roofs, and nearly every possible variation on those features can be found in the district.The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 18, 2015.

Berwyn is a suburban city in Cook County, Illinois, coterminous with Berwyn Township, which was formed in 1908 after breaking off from Cicero Township. As of the 2020 census, the city had a total population of 57,250.

Laramie was a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's "L" system on the Douglas Branch while it was a branch of the Blue Line. The station closed on February 9, 1992, because of service cuts that resulted from budget problems. It was temporarily put back into service on February 25, 2002, for the Douglas Rehabilitation Project while the terminal at 54th/Cermak was being rebuilt. It was again closed before the new station at 54th/Cermak opened on August 16, 2003. However, the station was never demolished because it was considered historic.

The Berwyn Municipal Building, also known as Berwyn City Hall, is a historic public building located at 6700 26th Street in Berwyn, Illinois. The building was constructed in 1939 as a Public Works Administration project. The architecture firm of Burnham & Hammond designed the building in the PWA's characteristic PWA Moderne style; their design features square massing, a flat brick and limestone exterior, prism-shaped pilasters, and reeding above the entrance. While the pilasters are in keeping with Moderne design, their prism shape is unusual; they may have been influenced by Burnham's earlier work or by Czech Cubism, given Berwyn's substantial Czech-American population at the time.The building originally housed Berwyn's city offices, its library, and its police and fire departments. The police department left in the 1960s, and the library closed its branch in the building in the 1980s; the city government and fire department still used the building as of 2001. An addition was placed on the building in 1991 to give it an elevator in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 8, 2001.
