The Alabama Military Department is an executive department within the government of Alabama. The military department is responsible for managing the military forces of Alabama, including the Alabama Army National Guard, the Alabama Air National Guard, and the Alabama State Defense Force.

The Garrett Coliseum is a 12,500-seat multi-purpose arena in Montgomery, Alabama, United States. The arena is the centerpiece of the Alabama Agricultural Center, home to the Alabama National Fair. It was built in 1951 and named after W. W. Garrett, the first chairman of the Alabama Agricultural Board. The coliseum's first event was a concert by Hank Williams. In 2005 and 2006, it was home to the Montgomery Maulers of the National Indoor Football League. The arena contains 8,500 permanent seats and can seat up to 10,500 for end-stage shows, 12,500 for boxing, wrestling and center-stage concerts. The Garrett Coliseum Complex is also home to the official state horse show, by Law on the books the Alabama Open Horsemans Association State Championship Horse Show, which is held every year on Labor Day Weekend. Garrett Coliseum is unique among indoor arenas for its bandstand which is located at the coliseum's stage end. The Coliseum also contains a 33,600-square-foot arena floor. Adjacent venues in the Alabama National Fairgrounds include the Crawford Arena with 26,243 square feet of space; Teague Arena with 7800 square feet of space; a 14,400-square-foot Exhibit Building, and the 10,500-square-foot Homer Lewis Building.

Montgomery Zoo is a 40-acre (16 ha) zoo located on the north side of Montgomery, Alabama. The zoo is an independent city department, and is supported in part by The Montgomery Area Zoolocal Society. It is home to approximately 750 animals representing 140 species. After not renewing their Association of Zoos and Aquariums membership in 2013, the zoo opted to remain accredited solely by the Zoological Association of America. The Mann Wildlife Learning Museum opened in January 2003 and serves as the administration building. The museum features taxidermy displays with a focus on native wildlife, game species, and wildlife management.

Boylston is a former unincorporated community in Montgomery County, Alabama, United States, that is now a neighborhood within the city of Montgomery, between the city's downtown and the Tallapoosa River.

The Central Alabama VA Medical Center–Montgomery is a medical facility of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in Montgomery, Alabama. The hospital was built in 1940 and originally consisted of 138 acres (56 ha), but has been reduced to approximately 50 acres (20 ha). The main building is a four-story H-shape building with elements of Colonial Revival and Classical Revival styles. Other historic buildings on the campus include the dining hall, residences for attendants and nurses, and engineering & maintenance buildings. The hospital was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Dr. Percy L. Julian High School (formerly Robert E. Lee High School) is a public secondary school in Montgomery, Alabama, United States, serving grades 9–12. The school is part of the Montgomery Public Schools system. Dr. Percy L. Julian High School is zoned for the northside of Montgomery, including residents of the Gunter Air Force Base and Maxwell Air Force Base, however, few military students attend Montgomery public schools.

Alabama Christian Academy (ACA) is a private Protestant school in Montgomery, Alabama. ACA is a coeducational, college preparatory school and is affiliated with the Churches of Christ. As of the 2013–2014 school year, Alabama Christian Academy had 957 students enrolled in Pre-K through the 12th grade. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Alabama Christian is also a member of the National Christian Schools Association (NCSA) and the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA).
