Chapel Hill is a historic home located near Mint Spring, Augusta County, Virginia. It was built about 1834, and is a two-story, three-bay, brick I-house dwelling in the Federal style. The front facade features a central pedimented pavilion with an elliptical fanlight over the doorway and another in the pediment. The interior features French scenic wallpaper, graining and marbleizing. Also on the property are the contributing frame office with some Gothic details, a pyramidal-roofed frame smokehouse, and a gable-roofed dairy.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Valley Railroad Stone Bridge is a historic stone arch bridge spanning Folly Mills Creek near Jolivue, Augusta County, Virginia. It was built in 1874 by the Valley Railroad, and is a four-span structure with an overall length of 130 feet (40 m) and a width of 15 feet (4.6 m). It is constructed of granite and faced in ashlar and features semi-circular arches set on gently splayed piers. It was acquired by the Virginia Department of Transportation in 1965. It is considered a scenic landmark along Interstate 81.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.

Jolivue is a census-designated place (CDP) in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. The population was 1,129 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Staunton–Waynesboro Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The Frontier Culture Museum is the biggest open air museum in the Shenandoah Valley. The museum operates on 200 acres of land in Staunton, Virginia, where it features eleven historic exhibits, to include traditional rural buildings from Europe, Africa, and America.

Staunton Mall was a shopping mall in Augusta County, Virginia, United States. It was slightly outside the city limits of Staunton, Virginia. Opened in 1968 as Staunton Plaza, it originally featured J. C. Penney, Montgomery Ward, Woolworth, and Safeway as its major stores. An expansion plan between 1985 and 1987 enclosed the formerly open-air property while adding Leggett (now Belk) as a third department store and renaming the property to Staunton Mall. The mall underwent a number of anchor store changes throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s: Safeway became an outlet store for Sears, then Goody's and Gold's Gym, while Woolworth was converted to Stone & Thomas and then to Peebles, and Montgomery Ward became Steve & Barry's. The mall lost many inline stores throughout the 21st century, and passed through several owners before closing on January 1, 2021.

Harper House is a historic home located at Stuarts Draft, Augusta County, Virginia. The house was built about 1888, and is a two-story, brick dwelling with a metal-sheathed hip roof with a bracketed cornice and a one-story front porch on highly decorative wood supports in the Italianate style. It has a two-story rear ell. Also on the property are a contributing meathouse, workshop, garage, windmill support, and granary.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.

Stuarts Draft High School is in the community of Stuarts Draft in southeastern Augusta County, Virginia. The school opened in 1970 during a consolidation period for the county's public schools. Stuarts Draft High School originally served grades 8 through 12, and housed the 7th grade due to overcrowding at Stuarts Draft Elementary School (now Guy K. Stump Elementary School). Today, Stuart Draft High School serves 720 students in grades 9 to 12. A middle and elementary school have been built in proximity to Stuarts Draft High School, creating one of two school complexes in the county. Seven percent of the student body is African American and one percent is Hispanic. Eleven percent of the students receive special education services. Stuarts Draft High School performs respectably on standardized tests. The school maintains an 87% pass rate on SOL end-of-course tests; the mean SAT verbal and math score is 509 and 523 respectively. Sixty-three percent of Stuarts Draft seniors attend college; of that number, 35% go to four-year institutions.

Folly is a historic plantation house located near Staunton, Augusta County, Virginia. The house was built about 1818, and is a one-story, brick structure with a long, low service wing and deck-on-hip roof in the Jeffersonian style. It has an original rear ell fronted by a Tuscan order colonnade. The front facade features a tetrastyle pedimented portico with stuccoed Tuscan columns and a simple lunette in the pediment. A similar portico is on the north side and a third portico was replaced by a wing added in 1856. The house closely resembles Edgemont near Covesville, Virginia. Also on the property are contributing original brick serpentine walls, a spring house, smokehouse and icehouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Virginia's sixth congressional district is a United States congressional district in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It covers much of the west-central portion of the state, including Roanoke and most of the Shenandoah Valley. The current representative is Ben Cline (R), who has held the seat since the 2019 retirement of incumbent Republican Bob Goodlatte. The district was an open seat in 2018. In November 2017, Goodlatte announced that he would retire from Congress at the end of his current term, and would not seek re-election.Historically, the 6th district was one of the first areas of Virginia to turn Republican. Many of the old Byrd Democrats in the area began splitting their tickets and voting Republican at the national level as early as the 1930s. It was also one of the first areas of Virginia where Republicans were able to break the long Democratic dominance at the state and local level. The district itself was in Republican hands from 1953 to 1983. Democrat Jim Olin then won the seat in 1982, and held it for a decade before Goodlatte won it. Some counties in the district have not supported a Democrat for president since Franklin D. Roosevelt. For instance, Highland and Shenandoah counties last voted for a Democratic presidential candidate in 1932, and Augusta and Roanoke counties have not supported a Democrat since 1944. The district as a whole has not supported a Democrat for president since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1964.

Its population was 12,142 as of the 2020 census.Stuarts Draft has a history as an agricultural community, dating back to the 1730s. Today, the community also includes a processing and manufacturing cluster that includes Hershey, Hollister, McKee Foods, NIBCO, and a Target Corporation Distribution Center. As one writer notes, "A visitor to Stuarts Draft can see these imposing plants with cattle grazing in a nearby field..."

Cowbane Prairie Natural Area Preserve is a 147-acre (59 ha) Natural Area Preserve located in Augusta County, Virginia, along the western slope of the Blue Ridge in the Shenandoah Valley. It preserves both mesic and wet prairie habitats, as well as a calcareous spring-fed marsh; these areas contain eleven regionally rare plants such as queen-of-the-prairie, blueflag iris, and marsh-speedwell. Although common in the Midwest, these plants occur only at a handful of sites in Virginia.The preserve is owned and maintained by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation. It does not include improvements for public access, and visitors must make arrangements with a state-employed land steward prior to visiting.
