Sarn Gynfelyn

Llangorwen is a village located in the county of Ceredigion, Mid-Wales. Close to Clarach Bay and a mile north of Aberystwyth. The Church of All Saints just south of the village, is a grade II* listed building.Jutting out to sea the Sarn Gynfelyn shingle spit is located a few kilometres north of Llangorwen.

Wallog is a beach on the coast of Cardigan Bay north of Aberystwyth between Clarach Bay and Borth in the county of Ceredigion, Mid-Wales. A shingle spit named Sarn Gynfelyn originates from here. An old disused lime kiln is located at the end of this moraine. The lime was shipped into this spot, treated and then spread over the lands of the Wallog estate. Wallog lies on the route of the Ceredigion Coast Path.Although there is no direct road to Wallog beach, it can be reached by a public footpath, which follows a green lane to the beach, where seals and other wildlife are abundant.

Glan-y-môr is a small village in the community of Tirymynach, Ceredigion, Wales, which is 76.4 miles (123 km) from Cardiff and 180 miles (289.7 km) from London. Glan-y-môr is represented in the Senedd by Elin Jones (Plaid Cymru) and the Member of Parliament is Ben Lake (Plaid Cymru).

Afon Clarach (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈklaraχ]; also known as the River Clarach) is a small river discharging into Cardigan Bay north of Aberystwyth. It flows through a largely agricultural and forested landscape except in its lowest reaches where its banks are crowded with holiday developments. The Clarach is formed at the confluence of the Afon Stewi and Nant Seilo at Penrhyncoch, with both their headwaters originating in low hills at the edge of the Plynlimon range. The course of the river takes it past the Institute of Biological, Environmental and Rural Sciences (a part of Aberystwyth University), and the village of Bow Street. Between Bow Street and Llangorwen, the river is joined by the Bow Street Brook. In past centuries, the upper reaches of the river have been affected by lead and silver mining and the quality of the river has suffered as a result. There is some organic pollution from diffuse agricultural inputs and from the discharge of treated sewage from the Bow Street sewage treatment works. The river discharges into the sea over the beach at Clarach Bay thus limiting the population of migratory fish able to access the river. Consequently, Atlantic salmon and sea-trout are rare, however brown trout, brook lampreys, millers thumb and stone loach are commonly found. Clarach Bay is a small bay on the coast of Ceredigion, Wales, to the north of Aberystwyth, where the Afon Clarach flows into the sea. It has given homes to the two main caravan parks of Clarach Bay Holiday Village and Glan Y Mor Leisure Park plus a few smaller ones for holiday makers, the coastal paths runs from Aberystwyth to Borth via Clarach.

Rhyd Meirionnydd (wrongly spelt: Rhyd-meirionydd) is a small village in the community of Genau'r-glyn, Ceredigion, Wales, which is 77.3 miles (124.3 km) from Cardiff and 179.7 miles (289.2 km) from London. Rhyd-meirionydd is represented in the Senedd by Elin Jones (Plaid Cymru) and is part of the Ceredigion constituency in the House of Commons.

Constitution Hill (Welsh: Craig-glais Welsh pronunciation: [krai̯ɡ glai̯s]) is a hill in the Welsh town of Aberystwyth, situated to the north of the town. The hill overlooks Cardigan Bay in Ceredigion, Wales, running between the town and the coastal settlements Borth and Clarach to the north. The site provides good views of the Aberystwyth, and the sightline extends as far as Snowdonia National Park and north Pembrokeshire.Since 1896, the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway has ascended to the hill's summit, and the summit features a camera obscura, which is a 1980s rebuild of a Victorian era building which was erected as part of the "Luna Park" recreation area. At its peak runs the Clarach Footpath on the Wales Coast Path, which connects the town of Aberystwyth with Clarach Bay. Nearby is the Borth – Clarach Site of Special Scientific Interest. The hill itself is often referred to as "Consti" by locals.

The Aberystwyth Cliff Railway (Welsh: Rheilffordd y Graig) opened on 1 August 1896. It is a 778 feet (237 m) long funicular railway in Aberystwyth and is the second longest funicular railway in the British Isles, after the Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff Railway. Since November 1987, the Aberystwyth Cliff Railway has been a Grade II listed structure. The Cliff Railway was developed as an element of Constitution Hill, a Victorian business venture by the Aberystwyth Improvement Company in the 1890s. The funicular took visitors to the top of the hill, where attractions such as a camera obscura were established. The cliff railway was originally a water balance system, but it was electrified during 1921. Passengers numbers were high during its initial decades, but dropped after the outbreak of the Second World War and stayed depressed for decades. The cliff railway is now owned and run by Constitution Hill Ltd, a registered charity. It is open to passengers during the summer months, typically operating between April and October, with a reduced timetable during the rest of the year.

Swyddfa'r Sir (Welsh for 'county office') is a Grade II listed former hotel, former main offices of Ceredigion County Council and former Magistrates Court building located in Aberystwyth, well known as the outside of the police station in the BBC Wales police television series Y Gwyll (Hinterland).

St Mary's College (Welsh: Coleg Mair) was a Roman Catholic seminary in Aberystwyth, Wales, in the United Kingdom. It was the only Roman Catholic diocesan seminary founded in Wales. Also, as it trained priests in the Welsh language, it was the only post-reformation Roman Catholic college of its kind. It was founded in 1904 in Holywell and moved to Aberystwyth in 1936. It was closed in 1970 and now houses the Welsh Books Council.

Penglais Nature Park (Welsh: Parc Natur Penglais) is a woodland situated in Aberystwyth, Ceredigion in Wales. The park is a combination of woodland and a disused quarry. Spring brings a display of a carpet of bluebells in common with the many other bluebell woods. Opened in 1995, it covers 27 acres (11 ha); it was the first Nature reserve to open in Ceredigion and is the only UNESCO Man and Biosphere urban reserve in Wales.
