John A. Rowland High School is a public, four-year high school and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in the city of Rowland Heights, California, United States. It is one of the two high schools in the Rowland Unified School District. It is located directly across from one of the district's elementary schools, Killian Elementary School. Rowland High School received a six-year WASC accreditation in 2007 as well as being named a California Distinguished School in 1996 and 2004, and a National Blue Ribbon School in 1998. Rowland High School was named a Gold Ribbon School in 2017.

Oxford School is a private middle and high school in Rowland Heights, California. It serves grades 6–12. As of 2017 Scott Adams is the principal. The school was founded in 1980 and has been at its current location since 1997. The school, located behind a strip mall, consists of multiple portable classrooms and a grass field with a soccer goal, basketball courts, and a badminton or volleyball net.

Diamond Bar High School (DBHS) is a public high school located in Diamond Bar, California, as part of the Walnut Valley Unified School District.Diamond Bar High School's mascot is the Brahma, and the school colors are purple and gold. Diamond Bar High School students participate in programs such as Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB). During the school year, DBHS received an Academic Performance Index of 870, and 97% of students passed the California High School Exit Exam in 2008-2009. The Brahma Athletic teams will compete in the Palomares League of the CIF Southern Section in 2014–15.

KGBN (1190 kHz) is a Korean Christian brokered time AM radio station licensed to Anaheim, California. It serves Orange County and Greater Los Angeles. Rev. Young Sun Lee serves as the president of the Korean Gospel Broadcasting Network, which owns the station. KGBN is one of four radio stations in the Los Angeles area that broadcast entirely in Korean. The others are 1230 KYPA, 1540 KMPC and 1650 KFOX in Torrance, although they have mostly secular formats. KGBN broadcasts with 20,000 watts by day. But to protect other stations from interference on AM 1190, power is reduced at night to 1,300 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is near the Orange Freeway (California State Route 57) in Brea, California.

Industry station is a Metrolink train station located at 600 South Brea Canyon Road in Industry, California. Metrolink's Riverside Line trains between Los Angeles Union Station and Riverside–Downtown station stop here. It is owned and operated by the City of Industry. Industry station is served by 11 Metrolink Riverside Line trains (6 westbound and 5 eastbound) each weekday, running primarily at peak hours in the peak direction of travel. There is no service on weekends.In 2011, the Industry station had the highest ridership on the Riverside line, averaging 1,378 daily boardings, representing 34.5% of all boardings for the Riverside line.

Walnut High School is a public high school located at Walnut, California, among the San Jose Hills of the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California.Ranked in the top 100 high schools in America by the Daily Beast Publication, Walnut High School is also located within the prestigious Walnut Valley Unified School District, which has also been ranked by numerous sources to be one of the top public school districts in all of Southern California. The school is a two-time National Blue Ribbon School (1992–93 and 1997–98), six-time California Distinguished school (1991, 1992, 1994, 1998, 2005 and 2009), and a California Gold Ribbon School (2017). Walnut High School has also offered the International Baccalaureate program since 1999.

South San Jose Hills is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 20,551 at the 2010 census, up from 20,218 at the 2000 census.

The Brea-Olinda Oil Field is a large oil field in northern Orange County and Los Angeles County, California, along the southern edge of the Puente Hills, about four miles (6 km) northeast of Fullerton, and adjacent to the city of Brea. Discovered in 1880, the field is the sixteenth largest in California by cumulative production, and was the first of California's largest 50 oil fields to be found. It has produced over 412 million barrels of oil in the 130 years since it was first drilled, and retains approximately 19 million barrels in reserve recoverable with current technology. As of the beginning of 2009, 475 wells remained active on the field, operated by several independent oil companies, including Linn Energy, BreitBurn Energy Partners L.P., Cooper & Brain, and Thompson Energy.

Brea Olinda High School is a 9th–12th grade public high school located in Brea, California. Established in 1927, the school was originally located across the street from the Brea Mall. In 1989, the school moved to its current location on the northern hills of Brea. Brea Olinda High School is a part of the Brea Olinda Unified School District.

The Puente Hills are a chain of hills, one of the lower Transverse Ranges, in an unincorporated area in eastern Los Angeles County, California, in the United States. The western end of the range is often referred to locally as the Whittier Hills.

The Olinda Landfill (official name: Olinda Alpha Sanitary Landfill) is a landfill situated in Orange County, California, west of the northern portion of Chino Hills State Park in Carbon Canyon in Olinda neighborhood of Brea City. Facility size is approximately 565-acre (2.29 km2) with about 420-acre (1.7 km2) permitted for refuse disposal. The landfill has a processing capacity of 8,000 tons per day, while on average it receives 6,800 tons (cca 85% of capacity). City of Brea (where the landfill is situated) alone provides about 30% of the total daily refuse deposited at the facility.The landfill was opened in 1960. The facility is owned by Orange County and it is operated by Orange County Waste & Recycling Department (formerly County of Orange Integrated Waste Management Department). The landfill was featured on Cycle 16 of America’s Next Top Model. Currently the landfill is scheduled to close in December 2021. Plans for postponement of landfill's closure by expansion of its area further into Carbon Canyon just west of Brea Olinda High School were cancelled in 1996 as Land and Water Conservation Fund decided to incorporate adjacent federal lands into Chino Hills State Park, rather than to dedicate it for landfill enlargement. After landfill closure the site will be landscaped to become part of Chino Hills State Park.
