Brea-Olinda Oil Field

KGBN (1190 kHz) is a Korean Christian brokered time AM radio station licensed to Anaheim, California. It serves Orange County and Greater Los Angeles. Rev. Young Sun Lee serves as the president of the Korean Gospel Broadcasting Network, which owns the station. KGBN is one of four radio stations in the Los Angeles area that broadcast entirely in Korean. The others are 1230 KYPA, 1540 KMPC and 1650 KFOX in Torrance, although they have mostly secular formats. KGBN broadcasts with 20,000 watts by day. But to protect other stations from interference on AM 1190, power is reduced at night to 1,300 watts. It uses a directional antenna at all times. The transmitter is near the Orange Freeway (California State Route 57) in Brea, California.

In 1989, the school moved to its current location on the northern hills of Brea. Brea Olinda High School is a part of the Brea Olinda Unified School District.

Olinda is a neighborhood in Brea, California, located on Carbon Canyon Road east of the rest of the city. The original village was founded in the 1890s and grew when petroleum was discovered at the adjacent Brea-Olinda Oil Field. In February 1917, Olinda Village and the nearby town of Randolph were incorporated as the city of Brea. The site is now registered as California Historical Landmark #918 registered on January 1. 1978.Olinda Landfill, located in Carbon Canyon, was opened in 1960 and is scheduled to be closed in December 2021. The name was revived for a quiet neighborhood built in the hills near the site of the original village, beginning in 1964. The neighborhood has six streets, and holds about 120 homes (many horse properties), and a condominium complex. It is near Carbon Canyon Regional Park and Chino Hills State Park, and surrounded by hills covered with chaparral and home to coyotes, owls, hawks and rattlesnakes. A Southern California Edison electrical substation in the area is also named Olinda. Olinda gives its name to an elementary school as well as Brea-Olinda High School, which serves Brea and Olinda.

The Olinda Landfill (official name: Olinda Alpha Sanitary Landfill) is a landfill situated in Orange County, California, west of the northern portion of Chino Hills State Park in Carbon Canyon in Olinda neighborhood of Brea City. Facility size is approximately 565-acre (2.29 km2) with about 420-acre (1.7 km2) permitted for refuse disposal. The landfill has a processing capacity of 8,000 tons per day, while on average it receives 6,800 tons (cca 85% of capacity). City of Brea (where the landfill is situated) alone provides about 30% of the total daily refuse deposited at the facility.The landfill was opened in 1960. The facility is owned by Orange County and it is operated by Orange County Waste & Recycling Department (formerly County of Orange Integrated Waste Management Department). The landfill was featured on Cycle 16 of America’s Next Top Model. Currently the landfill is scheduled to close in December 2021. Plans for postponement of landfill's closure by expansion of its area further into Carbon Canyon just west of Brea Olinda High School were cancelled in 1996 as Land and Water Conservation Fund decided to incorporate adjacent federal lands into Chino Hills State Park, rather than to dedicate it for landfill enlargement. After landfill closure the site will be landscaped to become part of Chino Hills State Park.

Carbon Canyon Regional Park (or simply Carbon Canyon Park) is a regional park in Brea, California, that was created after the Carbon Canyon Creek was dammed. It links up with Chino Hills State Park on the east side. The park also is home to a small forest of Redwood trees, which have been struggling to survive since the start of the 2010 California drought.

The Brea Mall is a shopping mall located in the Orange County city of Brea, California. Since 1998, the mall has been owned and operated by the Simon Property Group. It is home to four major department stores, 179 specialty shops and boutiques, and a food court. It is 1,281,795 sq ft (119,083 m2). The anchors are Macy's, Macy's Men's & Home, JCPenney, and Nordstrom with one vacant anchor last occupied by Sears that has yet to be redeveloped into Life Time Fitness, retail, entertainment, and apartments.

Carbon Canyon Dam (or Carbon Creek Dam) is a dam at the northern edge of Orange County, California. The dam is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) east of the city of Brea and approximately 12 miles (19 km) north of the city of Santa Ana. The drainage area above the dam is 19.3 square miles (50 km2) and is encompassed entirely within the Puente and Chino Hills. The Carbon Canyon Creek flows in a generally southwesterly direction onto the coastal Orange County Plain, joins Coyote Creek, and then flows into the San Gabriel River.

The George Key Ranch Historic District, also known simply as Key Ranch, is a historic ranch and Victorian ranch house located in Placentia, Orange County, CaliforniaTwo acres of the former ranch is now the George Key Ranch Historic Park operated by Orange County Parks. It includes the historic house museum, a collection of farm equipment and hand tools, a one-acre orange grove, and 3/4-acre verse garden.The George Key Ranch Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
