Walnut High School is a public high school located at Walnut, California, among the San Jose Hills of the San Gabriel Valley in Southern California.Ranked in the top 100 high schools in America by the Daily Beast Publication, Walnut High School is also located within the prestigious Walnut Valley Unified School District, which has also been ranked by numerous sources to be one of the top public school districts in all of Southern California. The school is a two-time National Blue Ribbon School (1992–93 and 1997–98), six-time California Distinguished school (1991, 1992, 1994, 1998, 2005 and 2009), and a California Gold Ribbon School (2017). Walnut High School has also offered the International Baccalaureate program since 1999.

Diamond Bar is a city in eastern Los Angeles County, California, United States. At the 2010 census it had a population of 55,544, and in 2019 the population was estimated to be 55,720. It is named after the "diamond over a bar" branding iron registered in 1918 by ranch owner Frederic E. Lewis (1884–1963). The city features a public Los Angeles County golf course. Located at the junction of the Pomona and Orange freeways, Diamond Bar is primarily residential with shopping centers interspersed throughout the city. It is surrounded by the cities of Brea, Walnut, Chino Hills, Pomona, City of Industry, and the unincorporated areas of Rowland Heights and South Diamond Bar.Northern Diamond Bar is a part of the Pomona Unified School District. Southern Diamond Bar is a part of the Walnut Valley Unified School District. The city is also served by International Polytechnic High School. It also has the first hydrogen fueling station to be built in Southern California, near the South Coast Air Quality Management District building.

Diamond Bar High School (DBHS) is a public high school located in Diamond Bar, California, as part of the Walnut Valley Unified School District.Diamond Bar High School's mascot is the Brahma, and the school colors are purple and gold. Diamond Bar High School students participate in programs such as Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB). During the school year, DBHS received an Academic Performance Index of 870, and 97% of students passed the California High School Exit Exam in 2008-2009. The Brahma Athletic teams will compete in the Palomares League of the CIF Southern Section in 2014–15.

Walnut is a city in the eastern part of Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California. According to the 2010 census, the city had a population of 29,172, and the population was estimated to be 29,685 in 2019.The greater Walnut Valley is located between the steep San Jose Hills to the north and the gently sloping Puente Hills to the south. San Antonio College. Walnut is one of the cities with the lowest crime rates in the San Gabriel Valley.The city covers nearly 9 sq mi (23 km2) and is home to hundreds of businesses. According to the 2010 United States Census, Walnut has a median household income at one of the top-earning percentiles in the country at $101,250.The city's name is derived from the Rancho Los Nogales Mexican land grant, nogales being the Spanish word for "walnut trees"; the native California black walnut is a common tree, native to the San Jose Hills. The City of Walnut is a general law city incorporated on January 19, 1959. It is governed by a city council/city manager form of government. A five-member city council is elected by the residents, and a mayor is elected annually by the council to serve a twelve-month term. A city manager is appointed by the council to oversee the daily activities of the city.

Rancho Rincón de la Brea (also called Rancho Cañada de la Brea) was a 4,452-acre (18.02 km2) Mexican land grant in present day Los Angeles County, California given in 1841 by Governor Juan Alvarado to Gil Maria Ybarra. The name means "Tar Gully Ranch" in Spanish. The one square league grant extended southward from San Jose Creek into the hills of Brea Canyon. Known as "Rancho la Canada de la Brea" when application for the grant was originally made in 1841, it was subsequently referred to as "Rancho Rincon de la Brea" and "Rancho de los Ybarras". The rancho was situated in present day unincorporated Los Angeles County: east of Rowland Heights, south of La Puente, west of Diamond Bar, and north of Brea.

Hilmer Lodge Stadium on the Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) campus in Walnut, California, is the athletic stadium for the community college. Originally known as Mt. San Antonio College Stadium or Mt. Sac Stadium, the stadium was dedicated on October 8, 1948 by then local congressman, Richard Nixon. The venue was renamed in the early 1990s after Hilmer Lodge, who created the relays in 1959 and was the college's first track and field and cross country coach. Lodge, who died in 1977, was part of the inaugural Mt. SAC Relays Hall of Fame.The stadium is also the finish for the Mt. SAC Cross Country Course, which hosts as many as 28,000 participants for the Mt. SAC Cross Country Invitational. It also plays host to the CIF Southern Section cross country prelims and finals, and the Western Regional preliminary to the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships. Hilmer Lodge Stadium hosted the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in 1962, 1979, and 1980. It also played host to the United States women's Olympic Trials in 1968. In 2018, the stadium was selected as site for the 2020 US Track and Field Olympic Trials, but the $62 million renovation was threatened by multiple lawsuits from neighbors of the college. On August 2, 2018, USATF announced that Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon had been selected to host the competition. In July 2018, the stadium was completely renovated and opened February 24, 2020 with the ability to expand seating to 21,000 for special events.In 1967, the stadium received an upgrade to aluminum bleachers. The stadium was used as a location for the 1989 Wes Craven film Shocker.

Mt. San Antonio College (Mt. SAC) is a public community college in Walnut, California. It offers more than 400 degree and certificate programs, 36 support programs, and more than 50 student clubs and athletic programs, including food pantry, counseling and tutoring. The college offers associate degrees, career education, community recreation courses, ESL, adult education, and youth summer programs.

Nogales High School is a public high school located in La Puente, California. It is a part of the Rowland Unified School District.

International Polytechnic High School, commonly referred to as iPoly, is a public college-preparatory demonstration high school (9-12) found in the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) campus and operated by the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) in collaboration with the College of Education and Integrative Studies at the university. iPoly's curriculum is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is approved by the University of California and California State University. It runs hand-in-hand with the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts (LACHSA), which is also run by LACOE. Since iPoly does not lie in a fixed school district, it draws students from all over Los Angeles, San Bernardino, Orange and Riverside counties. Most of the students come from the Pomona and San Gabriel valleys. In 2009, 2013, and 2019, iPoly was honored as a California Distinguished School by the California Department of Education.

The Collins College of Hospitality Management is a college part of the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona). Founded in 1973, it was the first hospitality management studies program in California and its thousand students make it the largest such school in the state. As of 2010, The Collins College of Hospitality Management is ranked third in the nation by restaurant executives. Andrew Hale Feinstein is Dean and James A. Collins Distinguished Chair. With approximately 1,400 undergraduate students, the college is the largest of its kind in the country.

John A. Rowland High School is a public, four-year high school and International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in the city of Rowland Heights, California, United States. It is one of the two high schools in the Rowland Unified School District. It is located directly across from one of the district's elementary schools, Killian Elementary School. Rowland High School received a six-year WASC accreditation in 2007 as well as being named a California Distinguished School in 1996 and 2004, and a National Blue Ribbon School in 1998. Rowland High School was named a Gold Ribbon School in 2017.

The Cal Poly Pomona College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences is the humanities, social sciences, and performing arts college at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona) located in Pomona, California, United States. The College of Letters, Arts & Social Sciences (C.L.A.S.S.) educates students in eleven disciplines of study: Communication, Economics, English and Modern Languages, Geography and Anthropology, History, Music, Philosophy, Political Science, Psychology and Sociology, Ethnic and Women's Studies, and Theater and New Dance. Academy Award-winning actor, Forest Whitaker, attended Cal Poly Pomona as a Music major. Former U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis received her bachelor's degree in political science from the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences at Cal Poly Pomona and then returned as a lecturer in 2013.
