Hostafrancs

Hostafrancs (Catalan pronunciation: [ustəˈfɾaŋs]) is a Barcelona Metro station, named after the Hostafrancs neighbourhood, in the Sants-Montjuïc district of the city of Barcelona. The station is served by line L1. The station's name is still occasionally written as Hostafranchs, following the old Catalan spelling, chiefly in Spanish-language contexts.The station is located under the Carrer de la Creu Coberta between the Carrer Moianès and Carrer Consell de Cent. The station can be accessed from entrances on all three streets. It has twin tracks, flanked by two 88-metre (289 ft) long and 4-metre (13 ft) wide side platforms.Hostafrancs is on the original section of line L1 (then the Ferrocarril Metropolitano Transversal de Barcelona) between Catalunya and Bordeta stations, which was opened in 1926.

The Pavelló de l'Espanya Industrial (English: Industrial Spain Pavilion), currently named Centre Esportiu Municipal l'Espanya Industrial is a building located in Barcelona. Completed in 1991, it hosted the weightlifting competitions for the 1992 Summer Olympics.

It is served by line L3 (green line).The station is located under Carrer de Tarragona between Carrer de València and Carrer d'Aragó, not far from Barcelona Sants railway station. Station entrances are situated at the junctions of the Carrer de Tarragona with Carrer de València, Carrer d'Aragó, Carrer de l'Elisi and Carrer de Sant Nicolau. In the vestibule served by the southern entrance is the artwork Tres Boles by José Luis Carcedo Vidal. At the lower level, the station has two tracks served by two side platforms.The station opened in 1975, along with the other stations of the section of L3 between Paral·lel and Sants Estació stations. This section was originally operated separately from L3, and known as L3b, until the two sections were joined in 1982.

Carrer de Tarragona is a street in Barcelona. A long street lined with high-rises, it serves as the border between Hostafrancs, in the district of Sants-Montjuïc, and Eixample. This street runs from Plaça d'Espanya towards Plaça dels Països Catalans, the location of the Barcelona Sants railway station. The Parc de Joan Miró is on one of the sides of the road. It's named after Tarragona, the capital of one of the four provinces of Catalonia. The street was given its current name in 1900, but originally Ildefons Cerdà had intended to call it Núm. 12, owing to his numerical naming system.

The Nobu Hotel Barcelona, formerly the Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya, is a skyscraper and hotel in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Completed in 1970, has 25 floors and rises 100 metres (including mast) and 80 metres without mast. It is located near Barcelona Sants Railway Station, Plaça d'Espanya and three other skyscrapers: Edificio Allianz, Edificio Tarragona, Torre Núñez y Navarro. It was renamed Nobu Hotel Barcelona in 2019, following a major renovation.

Edificio Allianz (Torre Allianz) is a skyscraper in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Completed in 1993, it has 20 floors and rises 77 meters. It is the 41st tallest building in Barcelona. The building belongs to the Allianz Company. It lies on Carrer de Tarragona street 103, near Plaça d'Espanya and three other skyscrapers: Edificio Tarragona, Hotel Torre Catalunya, Torre Núñez y Navarro.

La España Industrial, (Catalan: L'Espanya Industrial), was a cotton textile company founded 1847, and which built its primary factory (known as Vapor nou) in the village of Santa María de Sans (modern day Sants). It was not only the first joint-stock company (Spanish: sociedad anónima) created in Spain for cotton manufacturing, but it was also the first company to undertake all aspects (carding, spinning, weaving and finishing) under one roof. It was for many years, the largest and most innovative cotton manufacturer in Spain. It was formed in 1847, grew to 2,500 employees in late 19th century, consolidated factories in the 1970s and finally closed its doors for good in 1981.

Dona i Ocell ([ˈdɔ.nə i uˈseʎ], "Woman and Bird") is a 22-metre high sculpture by Joan Miró located in the Parc Joan Miró in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The sculpture was covered in tiles by the artist's collaborator Joan Gardy Artigas. The sculpture is part of an artwork trilogy commissioned from Miró to welcome visitors to Barcelona.

Plaça dels Països Catalans is a square in Barcelona (the capital of Catalonia, Spain) on one side of the city's central railway station, Estació de Sants, in the district of Sants-Montjuïc. It borders carrer de Tarragona, carrer de Numància and Avinguda Roma. It was so named in 1989 after the Catalan Countries.The square was inaugurated in its current form in 1983, built over the station rail yard, and it is notable for its lack of vegetation. Architects Helio Piñon and Albert Vilaplana were awarded that year's FAD Prize by the Foment de les Arts i el Disseny.The central part of the square features two copper roofs sustained by a number of tall supporting columns. Architecturally it is dominated by the station and the high-rise Torre Catalunya with its trademark Sony spire. Barcelona's main prison, La Model, is at a short distance and its panoptikon dome be seen from it. The square is popular with skaters, and demonstrators have often gathered there, most infamously by ultra far-right groups during the 1990s and early 2000s.Under the name The destruction of the Plaça dels Països Catalans an exhibition took place at the Col·legi d'Arquitectes de Catalunya in 2011 documenting the effects of urban decay in the area in stark contrast with the architects' original concept and intentions.

Barcelona Sants is the main railway station in Barcelona, owned by Adif, the railway infrastructure agency of Spain. It has become the most important transport hub of the city - being the centre of Rodalies de Catalunya including Barcelona suburban railway services and regional services, as well as the main inter-city station for national and international destinations. The station is named after Sants, the neighbourhood of Barcelona in which it is located. New parts of the station have recently been remodeled to accommodate the Spanish high-speed train AVE in the city, which started serving the city on 20 February 2008. There is also an adjacent international bus station bearing the same name, and a link to the Sants Estació metro station that serves the railway station.

Sants Estació is a station in the Barcelona Metro network in the Sants-Montjuïc district of Barcelona. It serves the Barcelona Sants railway station, Barcelona's principal main line railway station, and is named Sants Estació to distinguish it from the nearby Plaça de Sants station also named after the Sants neighbourhood. It is served by line L3 and line L5.The line L3 section of the station is situated under Numància street, between Melcior Palau and Avinguda Josep Tarradellas. It has a hall at each side of the station. To access to the railway station it is necessary to go through line 5 hall. The station is equipped with numerous elevators, and has two side platforms that are 95 metres (312 ft) in length.The line L5 section of the station was opened in 1969 with the opening of the line between Collblanc and Diagonal. The metro station is situated on the north part of the railway station, between Guitard and Enric Bargés streets. The station is complex but has an own hall on the west side which has two direct accesses to the railway station. It has two side platforms that are 94 metres (308 ft) in length. On the other side of the station there is the corridor to connect with line 3.Sants Estació is one of three stations where lines L3 and L5 connect, the others being Diagonal and Vall d'Hebron metro stations. Like both these two stations, the platforms of the two lines at Sants Estació are connected by an underground passageway. However, unlike the other two, there is also a single track connection between the two lines at Sants Estació.The line L5 station was opened in 1969 with the opening of the line between Collblanc and Diagonal, whilst the line L3 station followed in 1975 with the opening of the line from this station to Zona Universitària. A second access hall to the L3 station was added in 2004.
