Sant Antoni, Barcelona

Sant Antoni is a station on line 2 of the Barcelona Metro, opened in 1995. It is located in the Sants-Montjuïc district, under the Ronda de Sant Antoni. The station has tracks on either side of an island platform, with a ticket hall at either end of the station. There are a total of three entrances: two to the south, on c/ Sant Antoni Abat and c/Comte d'Urgell, and one to the north, at c/ Villaroel. The station is wheelchair-accessible. Sant Antoni is widely accepted to be the inspiration to the Wachowski brothers for the Mobil Avenue Train Station program in The Matrix Revolutions. The station in the film is a program created to transfer programs from the real world into the Matrix.

Poble Sec is a station of the Barcelona Metro network located in the neighbourhood of the same name, in the district of Sants-Montjuïc, Barcelona. It is served by L3 (green line), and was previously known as Parlamento.The station is located directly under Avinguda del Paral·lel between Carrer de Manso and Carrer del Parlament. It can be accessed from entrances in Carrer de Manso and Carrer de Teodor Bonaplata. The platforms are 94 metres (308 ft) long each and are one next to another, albeit separated by a wall.The station opened in 1975, along with the other stations of the section of L3 between Paral·lel and Sants Estació stations. This section was originally operated separately from L3 and known as L3b. The station adopted its current name in 1982 at about the same time that L3b was merged with L3 proper.Future plans are for L2, which currently terminates one stop down the L3 at Paral·lel station, to be diverted into new platforms at Poble Sec. L2 will then continue to a terminus at Barcelona Airport, and Poble Sec will become an interchange station between L2 and L3.

Avinguda del Paral·lel (Catalan pronunciation: [əβiŋˈɡuðə ðəl pəɾəˈlːɛl]; English: Avenue of the Parallel) is one of the main streets of the city of Barcelona, dividing Ciutat Vella, Eixample and Sants-Montjuïc districts. It receives this name because it is (unlike any other street in Barcelona) parallel to the Equator (at 41°22′30″ North). It runs from Plaça d'Espanya, where the city's exhibition halls are located, to the seafront, Plaça de la Carbonera and the passenger ship port, dividing the neighbourhood of Poble Sec, on the side of Montjuïc, from the neighbourhoods of Sant Antoni and El Raval. It was officially inaugurated on October 11, 1894.El Paral·lel, as the avenue and sometimes the surrounding quarter are called, is most known for theatres (as of 2009, there are three in the avenue, Apolo, Condal and Victoria, but there were many more), as well as cabarets and erotic shows, or the Sala Apolo. In the past it was the core of Barcelona's nightlife, with music halls and other venues, but in the last two decades its importance has diminished greatly, in favour of the city centre and Eixample, and some urban decay is visible. El Molino, once one of the city's most renowned cabarets, is being rebuilt.

Carrer de Joaquín Costa is a street in the city centre of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It belongs to the neighbourhood of Raval, beginning at Plaça de Goya by Ronda de Sant Antoni and finally converging into Carrer del Carme. The area surrounding it is a well-known nightlife district, and many bars . From working class beginnings, the street has been in a continuous state of gentrification during the 2000s (decade) and has become more mainstream attention in recent years, as well as a residential area home to many Filipino and Pakistani immigrants. Teatre Goya and the Aragonese Cultural Centre are on the northern end of Joaquín Costa.

The Barcelona International Centre of Photography (El Centre Internacional de Fotografia Barcelona, in Catalan language, CIFB) was a singular initiative in the photographic culture of Spain in the second half of the 1970s, becoming a pioneering institution in the formation, study, exhibition, distribution and production of the photographic image. The professional career of its initiator, Albert Guspi (1943-1985), an important innovator and central figure within the new photographic scene of the seventies, culminated in the creation of the CIFB. Despite its brief five-year existence, the CIFB became a reference in the reformation of photographic culture during the Spanish transition to democracy.

El Raval (Catalan pronunciation: [əl rəˈβal]) is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, the capital city of Catalonia. The neighborhood, especially the part closest to the old port, was formerly (informally) known as Barri Xinès or Barrio Chino, meaning "Chinatown". El Raval is one of the two historical neighborhoods that border La Rambla, the other being the Barri Gòtic; it contains some 50,000 people. An area historically infamous for its nightlife and cabarets, as well as prostitution and crime, El Raval has changed significantly in recent years and due to its central location has become a minor attraction of Barcelona. It currently has a very diverse immigrant community (47.4% of its population was born abroad, ranging from all South America, Pakistanis and Filipinos, to a more recent Eastern European community, especially from Romania). It is home to many bars, restaurants, and night spots.

The Theatre Institute of Barcelona (Catalan: Institut del Teatre de Barcelona) is a public institution dedicated to training in the performing arts, classical dance, contemporary and Spanish as well as in theater, film, choreography, etc. It was created in 1913 in Barcelona by Adrià Gual. It belongs to the Province of Barcelona and aims to teaching the performing arts, the organization of congresses, conferences, exhibitions, and research of any form of performing arts. It is currently led by Jordi Font.
