Vettakollen

Båntjern is a tarn in the area of Oslo named Nordmarka. It is situated south of Vettakollen, a hill close to one of Oslo's suburbs. A campsite next to Båntjern offers various facilities including a place for grilling and a diving tower. The name is derived from tales of the ghosts of unbaptized children left in the woods to die alone. A trail walk continues further west of Båntjern. It leads to the top of Vettakollen, an area with views over the Oslofjord and the Bunnefjord. Southwest of Båntjern is an old mine called Riis Skjerp. One of Oslo's most popular walking trails passes Båntjern. It is approximately 20 km (12 mi) from Ankerveien to Bærums Verk.

Gulleråsen is a station on the Holmenkollen Line (Line 1) of the Oslo Metro. It is between Vettakollen and Gråkammen. The station was opened on 31 May 1898 as part of the tramway to Besserud. Gulleråsen lies in a tight 80 m radius curve, and there was a snag when the line was upgraded to handle MX3000 trains. When the line was tested with the new stock, it was found that the gap between the inbound platform edge and train door was 54 cm, this is unacceptably wide for safety reasons. As a result, the station is only served by outbound trains. From 12 January 2011, a replacement bus between Gulleråsen and Slemdal 750 metres away was implemented following pressure from residents. The bus has been criticized for low passenger numbers and each passenger is subsidized with about NOK 300. A possible resolution is to only open the last door in the trainset, but this requires modifications to the MX3000.

Frognerseteren is the end station of the Holmenkollen Line of the Oslo Metro, located in the Marka section of Oslo, the capital city of Norway. It the northernmost station in Oslo Metro, and is the station after Voksenkollen. The line to Frognerseteren was completed on 16 May 1916. The station has two platforms which, like other stations on the Holmenkollen Line, only accommodate two-car trains. The elevation of the station is 469 meters (1,539 ft) above sea level, the highest of all the stations in Oslo. The elevation difference between this station and the lowest in Oslo Metro (Stortinget), 478 meters (1,568 ft), is the highest elevation difference within a metro network in the world. The area around Frognerseteren has very little population, but is popular for recreation, with a restaurant and hiking trails or, during the winter, skiing. Tryvannstårnet is also within walking distance although Voksenkollen station is slightly closer.

Gråkammen is a station on the Holmenkollen Line (Line 1) of the Oslo Metro. It is located between Gulleråsen and Slemdal. The station was opened on 31 May 1898 as part of the tramway to Besserud. It derives its name from the surrounding hillocks (Gråkammen is Norwegian for Grey Ridge).

Frognerseteren Station is the terminal station of the Holmenkollen Line of the Oslo Metro. Frognerseteren Restaurant (59°58′39″N 10°40′39″E) and conference facilities is one of the best examples of architectural style Dragestil in Oslo.Frognerseteren means the seter ("mountain dairy farm", roughly comparable to shieling) of Frogner (Manor). Frognerseteren with parts of the Nordmarka forest (Frognerseterskogen) was part of Frogner Manor until 1848, when the owner Jacob Benjamin Wegner sold the rest of the estate but kept Frognerseteren. Wegner's heirs sold Frognerseteren to Thomas Johannessen Heftye in 1864, and Heftye's heirs sold Frognerseteren to Christiania municipality in 1889. The restaurant menu is based on traditional Norwegian cuisine.

Midtstuen is a station on the Holmenkollen Line (Line 1) on the Oslo Metro, between Skådalen and Besserud. It is the lower end of the popular tobogganing course Korketrekkeren. Midtstuen is located at an altitude of 223.3 meters (733 ft).

Slemdal is a neighborhood in the borough of Vestre Aker in Oslo, Norway. The neighborhood lies south of Vettakollen, and was built up from the 1890s. It is served by the Oslo Metro station Slemdal. The local sports team is IL Heming. The mausoleum of Emanuel Vigeland is located at Slemdal. Vigeland called it Tomba Emmanuelle.

Engerjordet is a former light rail station on the Holmenkollen Line in Oslo, Norway. It opened in 1898, to serve the resident Holmenkolbanen's executives. The station had a simple wooden platform and saw limited patronage. It was closed in 1935.
