Wallington is a small village and civil parish in the North Hertfordshire district, in the county of Hertfordshire, England, near the town of Baldock. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 Census was 150. Nearby villages include Rushden and Sandon. It shares a parish council with Rushden. The Church of St Mary is a Grade II* listed building lying at the southern end of the village. The nave, west tower and windows date from the mid-15th Century. The chancel was rebuilt in 1864.The Icknield Way Path passes through the village on its 110-mile journey from Ivinghoe Beacon in Buckinghamshire to Knettishall Heath in Suffolk.

Cottered is a village and civil parish 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Buntingford and 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Baldock in the East Hertfordshire District of Hertfordshire in England. It had a population of 634 in 2001, increasing to 659 at the 2011 Census.Cottered is home to a Japanese garden designed in the early 20th century by Herbert Goode, at the Garden House. It is listed Grade II* on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.North of Cottered, on a private drive off Throcking Road, is Broadfield House. This was rebuilt for Lady Hester Ley, daughter of the Earl of Marlborough, who married into the local Pulter family. Her daughter Margaret married John Forrester: their son James (d.1696) had Broadfield Hall extended, with stables designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor which are now Grade II listed. Among those who have held the living of Cottered may be mentioned the Rev Anthony Trollope, who was grandfather of the authors Anthony Trollope and Thomas Adolphus Trollope. He was incumbent of Cottered for forty-four years and died in 1806.Cottered also has a blue plaque to the first president of the Republic of China Sun Yat-sen, who stayed at The Kennels, country home of James Cantlie.It has a football club, Cottered FC.A Manor House built in the 1400s, said to be the "oldest inhabited house in Hertfordshire", stands in Cottered. "The Lordship" is a Grade I listed building. The summary states: "Early-mid C15 (probably for John Fray who held the manor 1428-1461...), altered in early C17 ... chimney dated 1699, later modernizations ...". According to a 2021 report in Country Life, the property was owned by Gwilym Lloyd George in the 1950s. The subsequent owners maintained the house well, but it was due for "some gentle updating".

Cromer is a hamlet in the civil parish of Ardeley, Hertfordshire, England. It is a small hamlet; however, it is noteworthy for possessing Hertfordshire's sole surviving post mill. The current mill dates from 1681 on a site where a windmill has stood for over 600 years. The mill has been damaged several times, but was brought back into full working order in 1998 after receiving grants of over £50,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and English Heritage. The mill first opened to the public in 1991, and has continued to do so ever since.

At the 2011 Census the population of the civil parish was 495.Sandon has 47 listed buildings, including one of Britain's estimated 200 medieval barns, the construction of which has been dendrochronologically dated to 1266–68. Blagrove Common is a 4.0-hectare (9.9-acre) Site of Special Scientific Interest in Green End near Sandon in Hertfordshire. It is managed by the Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust, and the planning authority is North Hertfordshire District Council.The site is one of the few areas of unimproved marshy grassland in east Hertfordshire. It is crossed by a stream and has a rich diversity of vegetation, including a variety of orchids. Kestrels often hunt mice and voles, which are common on the site.There is access from Beckfield Lane next to the house called Blagrove. In some areas there is treacherous deep mud.

Clothall is a village and civil parish in the county of Hertfordshire, England, with a population of 358. It is situated 2.25 miles (3.62 km) south-east of Baldock, and is in the district of North Hertfordshire. At the 2011 Census the civil parish had a population of 150. The village contains the Church of St Mary the Virgin, which was built of flint and stone around 1350–70, though parts of the church are older, dating to the 12th century.

The parish church of St Mary the Virgin in Walkern, Hertfordshire, dates from before the Norman Conquest and has been altered in the succeeding centuries. The nave retains at least one Anglo-Saxon wall.

Throcking is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Cottered, in the East Hertfordshire district, in the county of Hertfordshire, England. It is approximately 1.5 miles west-northwest of Buntingford and 7 miles east-northeast of Stevenage. In 1951 the civil parish had a population of 139. On the 1 April 1955 the civil parish was merged into Cottered. Throcking was recorded in the Domesday Book as Trochinge.
