San Juan de Letrán is a metro station along Line 8 of the Mexico City Metro. It is located in Mexico City's Cuauhtémoc borough in the city centre, or Centro.The station logo depicts the silhouette of the nearby Torre Latinoamericana, and the name San Juan de Letrán is the name of a church in Rome, Italy. San Juan de Letrán was the former name of Mexico City's central avenue, on which the station stands. Another stretch further south was named Avenida Niño Perdido ("Lost Child"). Today its name is Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas. The station was opened, along with all the others on Line 8, on 20 July 1994.

The Mexican Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (Spanish: Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, SRE, lit: Secretariat of External Relations) is the government department responsible for Mexico's foreign affairs. Mexico currently has 80 embassies, 33 consulates-general, 35 consulates, 1 representative office in Ramallah, 1 trade office in Taiwan and 144 honorary consulates around the world. Mexico also has 2 permanent representations to the United Nations in New York City and Geneva, there are also permanent missions to the OAS in Washington, D.C., to UNESCO in Paris, to European Union in Brussels, to OECD in Paris, to ICAO in Montreal and to OPANAL in Mexico City. Mexico also has permanent observer mission status to the AU, CAN, CE, Mercosur, NAM and Unasur. The person in charge of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the Secretary of Foreign Affairs, also known domestically as the canciller (Spanish, lit. chancellor). The Secretary's offices are divided Undersecretary for Foreign Relations, Undersecretary Latin America and the Caribbean, Undersecretary for North America, Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights, the Mexican Agency for International Development Cooperation (AMEXCID) and the Legal Counselor.

Churrería El Moro is a restaurant serving churros and hot chocolate in Mexico City. The original 1935 location is on Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas near the Metro San Juan de Letrán in the Historic center of Mexico City. Since 2014 the grandchildren of the original owner have opened branches in Palacio de Hierro department store food halls (Polanco, Perisur, Centro Santa Fe), in the Mercado Roma food hall, on Parque México in Condesa, on Avenida Álvaro Obregón in Colonia Roma, and in Colonia Cuauhtémoc along Río Lerma street, a restaurant row.

Edificio Internacional de Capitalización (Edificio Seguros México) was a 1943 art moderne office building located in downtown Mexico City. At the time of its construction, it was the tallest building in Mexico, rising 18 stories and 65 meters tall ( plus 10 more if counting the spire). It was surpassed in height in 1946 by the 20 story Edificio "El Moro". During the earthquake of September 19, 1985, the building´s top floors suffered mild to considerable structural damage (though it didn't collapse) and was partially demolished down to the third floor between 1990 and 1991. By 1993, the remaining three floors of the building still housed offices, but the decay surrounding the area following the 1985 earthquakes rendered it useless. In 1994 it was closed and many features dismantled. By 1995 a retail center (mainly electronic devices for computers and some manga-comic stores) was opened occupying the remaining structure. It is now known as the "FrikiPlaza", a shopping center selling phones, food, Asian snacks, accessories, consoles, modern and retro video games, manga and anime, card games, and hosts dancing, card and cosplay events. Some parts of the original building, such as railings and some tiles are still visible.

País de volcanes (lit. transl. Country of Volcanoes) is an outdoor fountain and sculpture by the Spanish-born Mexican artist Vicente Rojo Almazán, installed outside Mexico City's Secretariat of Foreign Affairs Building and next to the Memory and Tolerance Museum, in Mexico. It is a 1,000 square meters (11,000 sq ft) artwork that features 1,034 ocher-colored pyramids standing out of the water; the artwork was made with tezontle, a type of reddish volcanic rock. The central body of the fountain contains water that flows subtly down its sides to the area with the pyramids. For Jaime Moreno Villarreal of Letras Libres, the fountain is located slightly below the square level so that the viewer can appreciate the volcanic geography.Rojo got inspired on his travels across the country and by observing the mountain ranges of the country, its volcanoes and its pyramids. Rojo also commented that the fountain honors Lázaro Cárdenas, president of Mexico between 1934 and 1940, whom he called the "Benito Juárez of the 20th century". He also explained that the artwork's pink color was used "to soften the edges and to match the stone of the Corpus Christi temple".

The Corpus Christi Church is a former church on Avenida Juárez in the Historic center of Mexico City. It is the only remaining part of the Convent of Corpus Christi, founded in 1724 for Indian women and which was closed as part of the Reform Laws. The architect of the baroque structure was Pedro de Arrieta who also designed the Palace of the Inquisition and the Church of San Felipe Neri "La Profesa".The church was damaged during the 1985 earthquake and it was restored.

The San Juan Market is a traditional Mexican market in the historic center of Mexico City that has become the city’s only such market specializing in gourmet and exotic foods. It is known for its selection of exotic meats, including venison, crocodile, wild boar and even lion meat, as well as a wide selection of products from Europe and the Americas. Unlike other such markets in Mexico City, it caters to chefs, restaurateurs and foodies, many of whom are foreigners and have long-standing relationships with particular vendors.

The Memory and Tolerance Museum (Spanish: Museo Memoria y Tolerancia) is a museum in Mexico City, Mexico, established in 2010.

The equestrian statue of Francisco I. Madero is installed outside the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, Mexico.

An antimonumenta was installed in front of the Palace of Fine Arts, in Mexico City on 8 March 2019, the date commemorating International Women's Day, during the annual march of women protesting against gender violence. The sculpture was symbolically named Antimonumenta and has since inspired similar anti-monuments throughout the country, including the one in Guadalajara, Jalisco and the one in Morelia, Michoacán. The erection of an antimonumenta symbolizes the demand for justice for women who suffer from violence in the country.

The Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura (INBAL, English: National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature), located in the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, is the Mexican institution in charge of coordinating artistic and cultural activities (both at the political and the educational level) in the country. On November 23, 1946, president Miguel Alemán Valdés proposed the creation of the INBA, and it was formally opened on 1 January 1947, as a branch of the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP). The first head of the INBA was Carlos Chávez, who created a new orchestra for the Conservatory, the current Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional.The institute includes many departments, artistic ensembles, three national centers for storage of the literary stock, 29 schools and further institutions. The school of design and handicrafts was founded by José Chávez Morado in 1962.One of the important services the institute provides for the nation is to protect, along with the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia, monuments and buildings deemed cultural patrimony. INAH is entrusted with 'archaeological' (pre-Hispanic and paleontological) and 'historical' (post-Conquest 16th to 19th centuries) structures, zones and remnants, while INBAL is entrusted with 'artistic' buildings and monuments (properties that are of significant aesthetic value). The valuation of aesthetic value is left to the Comisión Nacional de Zonas y Monumentos Artísticos (National Commission of Artistic Zones and Monuments). This commission is composed of the Director of INBAL, a representative of the Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano y Ecología, a representative of UNAM, and three individuals affiliated with the arts picked by the Director. Edifices deemed worthy by the commission are catalogued in the Registro Público de Monumentos y Zonas Artísticos (Public Register of Artistic Monuments and Zones).The institute provides education from elementary school through to postgraduate level; one of the educational institutions that INBAL manages is CEDARTS (centros de educación artística or artistic education centers, in English) which is focused on artistic education. There are 12 CEDARTS in Mexico, three in Mexico City and the rest in some other states. Edificio La Nacional is an Art Deco office building located in Avenida Juárez, in the Historical Centre of Mexico City, just across the street from Palacio de Bellas Artes. The building's architect was Manuel Ortiz Monasterio, former director of the Escuela Nacional de Arquitectura. It is considered to be the first building over 10 stories in Mexico. The building was built between 1929 and 1932. It is known as "La Nacional" because it was originally home to the National Insurance Company (La Companía Nacional de Seguros). It was the tallest building in Mexico City until Edificio Corcuera was built in 1937. It stands 56 meters and 13 floors, served by five elevators. Its steel frame was designed to withstand the strong earthquakes that regularly shake the city. Total building area is 15,000 square metres (160,000 sq ft). It suffered some damage but survived the 1957 and 1985 earthquakes that took place in Mexico City, but was slightly damaged in the 2012 Oaxaca-Guerrero earthquake.The building next to it, known as "La Nacional II" and considered an annex, was built in 1949 and contains a Sears store. The eight floor houses a popular café, that offers views to Palacio de Bellas Artes and Alameda Park.
