Singapore Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng is a cultural organisation and columbarium based in Bishan, Singapore with beginnings since 1870. Located at Bishan Lane off Bishan Road, Peck San Theng presently operates a columbarium, two temples, and ancestral worship services tailoring towards the requirements as well as traditions, customs and beliefs of a cosmopolitan community. It presently belongs to 16 Cantonese and Hakka clan associations.

Raffles Institution (RI) is an independent educational institution in Bishan, Singapore. Founded in 1823 and named after Stamford Raffles, it is the oldest school in the country. It provides secondary education for boys only from Years 1 to 4, and pre-university education for both boys and girls in Years 5 and 6. Since 2007, RI and its affiliated school Raffles Girls' School have offered a six-year Raffles Programme, which allows students to skip the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examinations and proceed to take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations at the end of Year 6. RGS and its affiliated school Raffles Institution offer a six-year Raffles Programme, which allows students to skip the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Ordinary Level examinations and proceed to take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations at the end of Year 6. The school was recognised by the Ministry of Education in 2006 by being awarded the School Excellence Award (recognising schools with 'exemplary school processes and practices'), among other awards.It was a member of Alliance of Girls' Schools Australasia.

Catholic High School (CHS) is a government-aided autonomous Catholic boys' school in Bishan, Singapore, founded in 1935 by a French missionary, Reverend Father Edward Becheras. One of the Special Assistance Plan schools in Singapore, it has a primary school section offering a six-year primary education, as well as a secondary school section offering a four-year secondary education. Since 2013, it has partnered with Eunoia Junior College for a six-year Integrated Programme, which allows its secondary school students to proceed to Eunoia for Years 5 and 6 and take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations at the end of Year 6.

Catholic Junior College (CJC) (Chinese: 公教初级学院) is a junior college in Singapore, offering a two-year course for pre-university students leading to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examination. Founded in 1975, Catholic Junior College was the third junior college to be established in Singapore.

Sin Ming (Chinese: 新民) is a housing estate located in the subzone of Upper Thomson in the town of Bishan, Singapore. It is roughly situated between MacRitchie Nature Reserve and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. It consists of both residential and industrial areas. Singapore's biggest Mahayana Buddhist temple, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, is located in the vicinity of Sin Ming.Residential homes includes a mixture of landed properties, condominiums and Housing Development Board blocks. Sin Ming Avenue HDB is part of Bishan Toa Payoh GRC, while Sin Ming Road HDB is part of Marymount SMC.

Upper Thomson MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Thomson–East Coast line (TEL) in Singapore. Its location is Thomson. As the name suggests, it is located along Upper Thomson Road. The five entrances of the station serve various developments such as Soo Chow Estate, Thomson Plaza and the Church of the Holy Spirit. First announced in August 2012 as part of the Thomson line (TSL), the station was constructed as part of TEL Phase 2 (TEL2) with the merger of the TSL and the Eastern Region line (ERL). The station's construction required multiple traffic diversions along Upper Thomson Road along with a canal. Opening on 28 August 2021 along with the TEL2 stations, Upper Thomson station features Lost In Our (Concrete) Jungle by Troy Chin as part of the Art-in-Transit programme.

Braddell Secondary School was a co-educational government secondary school in Singapore. It started operations in 1981 and ceased to exist in 2000, when it was merged with Westlake Secondary School to form Braddell-Westlake Secondary School
