Upper Thomson MRT station

Thomson Plaza, formerly unofficially called Thomson Yaohan, is a suburban shopping mall located along Upper Thomson Road, in Singapore. Opened in 1979, Thomson Plaza is best known for having a Yaohan departmental store in the 1980s and 1990s.

Marymount (Chinese: 玛丽蒙, Tamil: மேரிமவுண்ட்). Its boundary is made up of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 Ang Mo Kio, Singapore in the north; Bishan Road Bishan, Singapore in the east; Braddell Road in the south; and Marymount Road in the west, Shunfu, Sin Ming.

Sin Ming (Chinese: 新民) is a housing estate located in the subzone of Upper Thomson in the town of Bishan, Singapore. It is roughly situated between MacRitchie Nature Reserve and Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. It consists of both residential and industrial areas. Singapore's biggest Mahayana Buddhist temple, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, is located in the vicinity of Sin Ming.Residential homes includes a mixture of landed properties, condominiums and Housing Development Board blocks. Sin Ming Avenue HDB is part of Bishan Toa Payoh GRC, while Sin Ming Road HDB is part of Marymount SMC.

Ai Tong School (simplified Chinese: 爱同学校; traditional Chinese: 愛同學校; pinyin: Àitóng xuéxiào) is a primary school located in Bishan, Singapore. It is one of the five affiliated primary schools under the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan. As a Chinese-medium school, Ai Tong emphasises strongly on the learning of Chinese culture, language and values. Ai Tong School is considered to be one of the most popular primary schools in Singapore, with places in the primary 1 intake frequently being oversubscribed.The name Ai Tong (爱同) is derived from the Chinese values of "Bo Ai" (博爱) and "Da Tong" (大同) which means 'Love for all humanity' and 'Equality/Harmony' respectively. This name was given by Pastor Ong Kah Mok, one of the founders of this school.Notable alumni include Chantalle Ng class of 2007, Singaporean actress and also daughter of Singaporean actress Lin Meijiao and Singapore actor Huang Yiliang and the 2 sons of Singaporean Actress Pan Lingling and her husband Huang Shinan.

Bright Hill MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit station on the Thomson–East Coast line (TEL). Situated along Sin Ming Avenue in western Bishan, Singapore, it serves various residential estates around the station. It also serves landmarks such as Peirce Secondary School, Ai Tong School, Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and the Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery. First announced as Sin Ming MRT station in August 2012, the station was constructed as part of TEL Phase 2 (TEL 2). Since the station was built in a heavily developed area, the bored piles were installed using specialised machinery due to the hard granite at the site. In January 2019, it was announced that the station will become an interchange with the future Cross Island line (CRL). After delays, Bright Hill station opened on 28 August 2021 along with the TEL 2 stations. Bright Hill station, a Civil Defence (CD) shelter, is 20 metres (66 ft) deep and has four entrances. An Art-in-Transit artwork, A Kaleidoscope Nature by Angie Seah, is featured at this station.

The Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (also the Bright Hill Pujue Chan Monastery) (simplified Chinese: 光明山普觉禅寺; traditional Chinese: 光明山普覺禪寺; pinyin: Guāngmíng Shān Pǔjué Chán Sì; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Kong-bîng-san-phóo-kak-sī), is a Buddhist temple and monastery in Bishan, Singapore. Built by Zhuan Dao in the early 20th century to propagate Buddhism and to provide lodging for monks, this monastery is the largest Buddhist temple in Singapore. It is the parent organization of the Buddhist College of Singapore founded in 2006. It is one of the two private crematoria, while the other one is Tse Toh Aum Temple.

Marymount MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Circle line in Bishan, Singapore. Located underneath Marymount Road near the junction of Marymount Lane and Bishan Street 21, this station provides MRT access to residents living in the western part of Bishan New Town and Shunfu, as well as students and staff of the nearby Raffles Institution. The station is named after the road of the same name on the surface, Marymount Road, which in turn took its name from the Marymount Convent of the Little Sisters of the Poor. It serves nearby businesses, housing developments and Raffles Institution and Shunfu HDB.

Whitley Secondary School (WSS) is a co-educational government secondary school located in Bishan, Singapore.

MacRitchie Reservoir is Singapore's oldest reservoir. The reservoir was completed in 1868 by impounding water from an earth embankment, and was then known as the Impounding Reservoir or Thomson Reservoir.

Eunoia Junior College (EJC) is a junior college in Singapore which offers Integrated Programme (IP) with Catholic High School, Singapore Chinese Girls' School and CHIJ Saint Nicholas Girls' School. It is located in Bishan, close to Bright Hill MRT station and Bishan MRT station.

Windsor Nature Park is a nature park in Singapore. It opened on 22 April 2017. The park forms a green buffer zone between Central Catchment Nature Reserve and the urbanized areas of Singapore. The park contains three hiking trails and a canopy walkway.Several species of birds live in Windsor Nature Park, including the greater racket-tailed drongo. Mammals living in the park include the endangered Sunda pangolin. A group of bachelor Raffles' banded langur monkeys also lives in the park.

Catholic High School (CHS) is a government-aided autonomous Catholic boys' school in Bishan, Singapore, founded in 1935 by a French missionary, Reverend Father Edward Becheras. One of the Special Assistance Plan schools in Singapore, it has a primary school section offering a six-year primary education, as well as a secondary school section offering a four-year secondary education. Since 2013, it has partnered with Eunoia Junior College for a six-year Integrated Programme, which allows its secondary school students to proceed to Eunoia for Years 5 and 6 and take the Singapore-Cambridge GCE Advanced Level examinations at the end of Year 6.
