Boston Children's Hospital formerly known as Children's Hospital Boston until 2013 is a nationally ranked, freestanding acute care children's hospital located in Boston, Massachusetts, adjacent both to its teaching affiliate, Harvard Medical School, and to Dana–Farber Cancer Institute. Dana–Farber and Children's jointly operate the Dana–Farber/Boston Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Center to deliver comprehensive care for all types of childhood cancers. The hospital is home to the largest hospital-based pediatric research program in the world. The hospital features 485 pediatric beds and provides comprehensive pediatric specialties and subspecialties to infants, children, teens, and young adults aged 0–21 throughout Massachusetts, the United States, and the world. The hospital also sometimes treats adults that require pediatric care. The hospital uses the Brigham and Women's Hospital's rooftop helipad and is an ACS verified level I pediatric trauma center, one of three in Boston. The hospital features a regional pediatric intensive-care unit and an American Academy of Pediatrics verified level IV neonatal intensive care unit. Boston Children's Hospital has been ranked as best pediatric medical center by U.S. News & World Report more times than any other hospital and is currently ranked as the best children's hospital in the United States. Its research enterprise is the world's largest and most highly funded pediatric hospital. In FY2022, Children's received more funding from the National Institutes of Health than any other children's hospital in the nation.

The Massachusetts School of Art is an historic academic building at 364 Brookline Avenue in the Longwood Medical Area of Boston, Massachusetts. The four-story Gothic/Art Deco building was designed by the architectural firm of Henry & Richmond, and was built in 1929-30 for the Massachusetts College of Art. The school occupied the building until 1983, when it moved to its present campus on Huntington Avenue. The building is now part of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 and is currently under study for landmark status by the Boston Landmarks Commission.

Berenson-Allen Center for Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation (abbreviated as CNBS or BACNBS) is a brain research institute at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) of Harvard Medical School in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area of Boston, Massachusetts. The center is specialized in research, educating, and clinical care using non-invasive brain stimulation techniques such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS). Non-invasive brain stimulation is applied as a diagnostic and therapeutic tool on patients with various neuropsychiatric disorders like depression, schizophrenia, epilepsy, dystonia, Parkinson's disease, chronic pain, and the neurorehabilitation of motor function, cognition, and language after stroke or traumatic brain injury. Berenson Allen Center was previously directed by Prof. Alvaro Pascual-Leone.

Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is the second largest teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School and the largest hospital in the Longwood Medical Area in Boston, Massachusetts. Along with Massachusetts General Hospital, it is one of the two founding members of Mass General Brigham, the largest healthcare provider in Massachusetts. Robert Higgins, MD, MSHA serves as the hospital's current president.Brigham and Women's Hospital conducts the second largest (behind MGH) hospital-based research program in the world, with an annual research budget of more than $630 million. Pioneering achievements at BWH have included the world's first successful heart valve operation and the world's first solid organ transplant. In the 2022 U.S. News & World Report hospital rankings, BWH was ranked fourteenth nationally.

Dana–Farber Cancer Institute is a comprehensive cancer treatment and research institution in Boston, Massachusetts. Dana–Farber is the founding member of Dana–Farber/Harvard Cancer Center, Harvard's Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute, and one of the 15 clinical affiliates and research institutes of Harvard Medical School. As of 2023, Dana–Farber is ranked the #4 cancer hospital in the world. Two Nobel laureates in Physiology or Medicine are among its past and present faculty. Dana–Farber's research discoveries include the development of the highly successful Gleevec to treat chronic myeloid leukemia.

Harvard Medical School (HMS) is the graduate medical school of Harvard University and is located in the Longwood Medical Area in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 1782, HMS is one of the oldest medical schools in the United States. Unlike most other leading medical schools, HMS does not operate in conjunction with a single hospital but is directly affiliated with several teaching hospitals in the Boston area. Affiliated teaching hospitals and research institutes include Dana–Farber Cancer Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children's Hospital, McLean Hospital, Cambridge Health Alliance, The Baker Center for Children and Families, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.

Joslin Diabetes Center is the world's largest diabetes research center, diabetes clinic, and provider of diabetes education. It is located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Among the Harvard Medical School affiliated institutions, Joslin is unique in its sole focus on diabetes. Joslin has the world's largest team of board-certified physicians treating diabetes and its complications, as well as the largest staff of Certified Diabetes Educators anywhere in the world. Joslin also supports the world's largest diabetes research team with more than 40 faculty investigators and more than 300 researchers.Roberta Herman, M.D., is currently President and CEO of Joslin Diabetes Center.

Paris-Saclay Medical School, also Faculté de médecine Paris-Saclay in French, is the graduate medical school of Paris-Saclay University and is located in the Bicêtre Medical Area of Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, Val-de-Marne, France and founded in 1968. It is the medical school of the first university in France according to its dean.

The Winsor School is a 5–12 private, college-preparatory day school for girls in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It was established in 1886. It competes in the Eastern Independent League and is featured on the Boston Women's Heritage Trail.

The Medical Area Total Energy Plant, in Boston, Massachusetts, is a gas-fired co-generation power plant providing steam, chilled water, and electricity to the Longwood Medical Area. Proposed in 1974 and completed in 1986, the facility encountered fierce community opposition and cost $350 million‍—‌$310 million more than the originally projected $40 million.

The House of the Good Samaritan (sometimes called the Boston Good Samaritan Hospital) was a charitable, Boston hospital founded by Anne Smith Robbins in 1860. It accepted its first patients in 1861 and was established to care for destitute, chronically ill women and children. The hospital became affiliated in 1946 with Boston Children's Hospital. It was legally incorporated into Boston Children's Hospital in March 1967.

The New Research Building (or NRB for short) is the largest building ever built by Harvard University, and was dedicated on September 24, 2003 by the then president of Harvard University, Lawrence H. Summers and the dean of the Harvard Medical School, Joseph Martin. It is an integrated biomedical research facility, located at 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, Boston, Massachusetts, at the Longwood Medical Area and has 525,000 square feet (48,800 m2) of space. It cost $260 million to build, and houses more than 800 researchers, and many more graduate students, lab assistants, and staff workers. The building sits across the street from the Boston Latin School on the former site of Boston English High School. It constitutes the largest expansion of Harvard Medical school witnessed in the last 100 years. It houses the Department of Genetics of the Harvard Medical School, among many other centers and institutes it houses. It is also home to many meetings, and has a 500-seat auditorium. The architects were Architectural Resources Cambridge, Inc. (ARC) who are active in the Boston/Cambridge area and have built other educational and research facilities.
