Greenville County Museum of Art

Heritage is a neighborhood located in Greenville, South Carolina. Located northwest of the city, it is home to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church and was once home to a dairy. The neighborhood was subdivided in 1909 and experienced peak construction during the 1920s.

The Upcountry History Museum is a history museum in Greenville, South Carolina that displays the regional history of fifteen upstate South Carolina counties from the early 18th century to the present. Exhibits designed by Christopher Chadbourne and Associates emphasize technology rather than artifacts "to engage the senses, ignite the imagination and transport visitors back in time." The museum is located on Greenville's Heritage Green with The Children's Museum, the Greenville County Art Museum, Sigal Music Museum, the Greenville County Main Library, and the Greenville Little Theatre. The museum opened in September 2007 and is operated by Furman University. In 2015, the Upcountry History Museum was named a Smithsonian affiliate. Its first Smithsonian exhibit was Searching for the Seventies: The DOCUMERICA Photography Project.

The Old Beth Israel Synagogue is a former Orthodox Jewish synagogue located at 307 Townes Street in the Stone Avenue neighborhood of Greenville, South Carolina, in the United States. The historical former synagogue building, after being repurposed as a church and later commercial building, is now used as a private residence.

The Landmark Building, also known as the Daniel Building, is an office skyscraper in Downtown Greenville, South Carolina. At 305 ft (93 m), it was the tallest building in South Carolina from 1966 to 1983. With 25 stories, the skyscraper has been the tallest structure in Greenville since its completion in 1966. It was conceived by Charles E. Daniel, a United States senator who was known for his love of construction.

The Confederate Monument (Greenville, South Carolina) is a shaft of granite topped by a marble statue of a soldier—the oldest public sculpture in Greenville—that memorializes the Confederate dead of the American Civil War from Greenville County, South Carolina. The monument is flanked by two period Parrott rifles manufactured at the West Point Foundry.

Downtown Baptist Church, is a historic church building located at 101 W. McBee Avenue in Greenville, South Carolina. It was constructed in 1858 as the new home of First Baptist Church of Greenville, replacing an earlier structure on the banks of the Reedy River. The congregation of First Baptist Church vacated the site for a new campus on Cleveland Street in the late 1970s at which time a minority of the congregation elected to remain at the downtown site and start a new church under the name Downtown Baptist Church. The Greek Revival building, designed by architect Samuel Sloan, was built in 1858 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. In 2011, the building was renovated, removing side galleries and balconies that were added in 1915. It is now the home of Grace Church.

Springwood Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Greenville, South Carolina, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It is the oldest municipal cemetery in the state and has approximately 7,700 marked, and 2,600 unmarked, graves.The first burial in what today is Springwood Cemetery occurred in July 1812, after Elizabeth Blackburn Williams (1752–1812), the mother-in-law of prominent early Greenvillian Chancellor Waddy Thompson, expressed a desire to be buried in the family garden. Many other burials occurred in the area after Thompson sold 60 acres of his property to one Francis H. McLeod in 1817. In 1829 McLeod opened the private graveyard to the public, and in 1833, he conveyed a tract of land to the city for use as a cemetery. The city acquired additional acres during the 1870s, and the last five acres of the cemetery were purchased before 1944. Presumably the cemetery was named for a spring that was once included in, or was just beyond, its boundaries.The 200-year-old cemetery includes "a comprehensive collection of gravemarker types," including field stones, raised masonry tombs topped with stone ledgers, Victorian monoliths, and Veterans Administration markers. Eighty unknown Confederate soldiers are buried near the entrance, presumably soldiers who died of wounds or disease after being removed to one of the two Greenville buildings used for hospitals during the Civil War.Springwood retains its rural cemetery design elements and the 1876 landscape planning of prominent New South architect G. L. Norrman. The entrance gate, designed by local architect James Lawrence and built of Indiana limestone, was completed in 1914. Just outside the Main Street entrance, in its own pocket park, is a Confederate monument that from 1891 to 1923 stood in the middle of Main Street.The northeast corner of the cemetery, which was used as a potter's field for African Americans and indigent whites has perhaps only a dozen remaining headstones, although the area is believed to contain hundreds of graves. In 1969 the City of Greenville extended Academy Street through this section and removed the remains of approximately 250 to 275 people.Although burials continue, no new plots have been sold since the 1970s. The city of Greenville contributes to the maintenance of the cemetery, but there is no perpetual care fund, and the graves themselves remain private property. A "Friends of Springwood Cemetery" organization was formed in 2002 to raise awareness of cemetery needs.

Hampton Pinckney is a neighborhood and national historic district located in Greenville, South Carolina. One of the oldest neighborhoods in Greenville, it was where the textile industry was started in the early 19th century and lasted until the 1920s. The first trolley car in Greenville was installed in this neighborhood in 1899, opening for business in 1901. It encompasses 70 contributing buildings in a residential section of Greenville. The houses date from about 1890 to 1930, and include Italianate, Greek Revival, Queen Anne, various bungalows, and examples of Gothic Revival and Colonial Revival design, as well as vernacular forms. The oldest house in the district is the McBee House (ca. 1835).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977, with a boundary increase in 1982.

Imperial Hotel, also known as Hotel Greenville, is a historic hotel building located at Greenville, South Carolina. It was built in 1911–1912, and is a seven-story, U-shaped skyscraper with a buff-colored brick veneer over a steel frame. It was originally a 90-room hotel, and expanded by 1930 to 250 rooms. The hotel closed in the early 1970s, but this establishment is still used as a nursing home for disabled people 55 and over. An adjacent parking garage was demolished in the 1980s. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.New owners of the building plan extensive building renovations in 2019.

The Greenville Elks Lodge is a historic commercial and fraternal club building at 18 East North Street in Greenville, South Carolina. It is a rectangular four-story building, finished in brick and stone. The main entrance is a particularly distinguished example of transitional Art Deco/Moderne styling, with fluted details in the stone work, and a transom with Art Deco diamond patterning. It was built in 1949 to a design by William Riddle Ward, a prominent local architect. It is the only known work in this style by Ward, who was better known for revival style designs, and is one of Greenville's only Art Deco designs. The building was occupied by Greenville Elks Lodge 858 until 1991.The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2015.

Scoundrel is a restaurant in Greenville, South Carolina. It was a semifinalist in the Best New Restaurant category of the James Beard Foundation Awards in 2024.
