Brunots Island Race Track

Brunot Island (also spelled Brunot's Island) is a 129-acre (52 ha) island in the Ohio River. It is officially part of the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania in the United States. It was named for Dr. Felix Brunot who settled the island with his extended family in the late 1700s. The family entertained the Lewis and Clark Expedition on the island in August 1803. The island is home to the Brunot Island Generating Station, a 315 MW fossil fuel power plant. The Ohio Connecting Railroad Bridge crosses the Ohio River at the island. The island does not otherwise connect to the land, and all vehicular traffic must use a ferry to access the island. The employees of the power plant use a pedestrian walkway on the railroad bridge to go to work. The walkway is not accessible to the public. From 1903 to 1914, the island was the home of Brunots Island Race Track.

The Ohio Connecting Railroad Bridge is a steel bridge which crosses the Ohio River at Brunot's Island at the west end of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It consists of two major through truss spans over the main and back channels of the river, of 508 feet (155 m) and 406 feet (124 m) respectively, with deck truss approaches.

State Correctional Institution – Pittsburgh (historically known as the "Western Penitentiary," "Western Pen," and "The Wall") was a low-to-medium security correctional institution, operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, located about five miles west of Downtown Pittsburgh and within city limits. The facility is on the banks of the Ohio River, and is located on 21 acres of land. (12 acres within the perimeter fence.) It was the first prison west of the Atlantic Plain as well as a major Civil War prison in 1863–1864. On January 26, 2017, Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Wolf announced the closing of this facility.

Chartiers Creek is a tributary of the Ohio River in Western Pennsylvania in the United States. The creek was named after Peter Chartier, a trapper of French and Native American parentage who established a trading post at the mouth of the creek in 1743.

Corliss Tunnel, located at Corliss Street south from West Carson Street in the Elliott neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built in 1914. It was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2002.

Holy Ghost Byzantine Catholic Church is an Eastern Catholic church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in the city's North Side neighborhood at 1437 Superior Avenue. Today it is best known as the church from which the funeral services of artist Andy Warhol were held in 1987.

Manchester Craftsmen's Guild (MCG) is a nonprofit art, education, and music organization established in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1968. Courses include ceramics, photography, digital arts, and painting to over 500 young people each year and 3,400 additional students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Ninety percent of the students receive high school diplomas, and eight-five percent of those students enroll in college or some other secondary education. The Guild's programs also include MCG Jazz, MCG Youth, and the Denali Initiative. MCG Jazz's mission is to preserve, present and promote jazz. MCG Youth offers art courses to Pittsburgh public school students. The Denali Initiative is a program that teaches nonprofit executive directors how to develop business and financing plans for social enterprises. The organization was conceived by Bill Strickland. In 1987, he expanded MCG with a $7.5 million capital campaign to construct a 62,000-square-foot (5,800 m2) vocational education and arts center. It includes a 350-seat concert hall, an art gallery, classrooms, and workshops. MCG Jazz hosts concerts and has a recording studio and record label.

The Sheraden Homestead is located at 2803 Bergman Street in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built between 1875 and 1885 in the Italianate architectural style, the building is most notable for two of its former residents, William Sheraden and William Sheraden Brockstoce.

Bicycle Heaven is the largest transportation museum in the world dedicated to bicycles. The museum was founded by Craig Morrow and comprises his personal collection gathered over decades. It is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The museum is an active collection. The 650m² show room contains over 3,500 bicycles with an additional 27,000 in storage. There are over 100,000 parts to keep the collection in repair.Bicycle Heaven maintains free entry by serving as a bike shop and consulting as prop agents for film, television and theatrical productions. After filming the bicycles are returned and become part of the permanent collection.

Sheraden is a station on the Port Authority of Allegheny County West Busway located in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Despite being the last inbound station on the busway, it sees the most use. It is served by: There is a park and ride lot near the station.

Langley K-8, formerly Langley High School, is a public school in the Sheraden neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Langley was one of ten high schools in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. On November 23, 2011, the Pittsburgh Board of Education approved a reform plan that would close Langley High School as an active school for the 2012–13 school year. The staff and student body would be relocated to the nearby Brashear High School, the district revealed plans for the Langley building to remain open as a middle school grades 6–8. Langley later reopened to serve students grade K-8. The building is an example of Tudor Revival architecture with the portions completed in 1923 and 1927 designed by MacClure & Spahr and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The high school is named for aviation pioneer and one-time University of Pittsburgh professor Samuel P. Langley.

The McKees Rocks Bridge is a steel trussed through arch bridge which carries the Blue Belt, Pittsburgh's innermost beltline, across the Ohio River at Brighton Heights and McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, west of the city. At 7,293 feet (2,223 m) long, it is the longest bridge in Allegheny County.Built in 1931, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988.
