David B. Oliver High School, commonly known as Oliver High School, was a public school in the Northside area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Oliver was one of ten high schools in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. The school was closed in 2012 but the building remained open as offices.

Manchester Craftsmen's Guild (MCG) is a nonprofit art, education, and music organization established in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1968. Courses include ceramics, photography, digital arts, and painting to over 500 young people each year and 3,400 additional students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Ninety percent of the students receive high school diplomas, and eight-five percent of those students enroll in college or some other secondary education. The Guild's programs also include MCG Jazz, MCG Youth, and the Denali Initiative. MCG Jazz's mission is to preserve, present and promote jazz. MCG Youth offers art courses to Pittsburgh public school students. The Denali Initiative is a program that teaches nonprofit executive directors how to develop business and financing plans for social enterprises. The organization was conceived by Bill Strickland. In 1987, he expanded MCG with a $7.5 million capital campaign to construct a 62,000-square-foot (5,800 m2) vocational education and arts center. It includes a 350-seat concert hall, an art gallery, classrooms, and workshops. MCG Jazz hosts concerts and has a recording studio and record label.

Conroy Education Center provides education for children with special needs in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. The school was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 30, 1986 as Conroy Junior High School, and the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 2001.

McClure Township was a township in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania within what is now the North Side of Pittsburgh. It was formed in 1859 from parts of Ross, Reserve, and Robinson townships. Its original territory, bordering Allegheny City and Manchester Borough on the south and the Ohio River on the west, included the Woods Run area and present-day Brighton Heights. Allegheny annexed portions of McClure in 1867 and 1870, and the remainder in 1873.

State Correctional Institution – Pittsburgh (historically known as the "Western Penitentiary," "Western Pen," and "The Wall") was a low-to-medium security correctional institution, operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, located about five miles west of Downtown Pittsburgh and within city limits. The facility is on the banks of the Ohio River, and is located on 21 acres of land. (12 acres within the perimeter fence.) It was the first prison west of the Atlantic Plain as well as a major Civil War prison in 1863–1864. On January 26, 2017, Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Wolf announced the closing of this facility.

Bicycle Heaven is the largest transportation museum in the world dedicated to bicycles. The museum was founded by Craig Morrow and comprises his personal collection gathered over decades. It is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The museum is an active collection. The 650m² show room contains over 3,500 bicycles with an additional 27,000 in storage. There are over 100,000 parts to keep the collection in repair.Bicycle Heaven maintains free entry by serving as a bike shop and consulting as prop agents for film, television and theatrical productions. After filming the bicycles are returned and become part of the permanent collection.

Union Dale Cemetery is a cemetery at 2200 Brighton Road, in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The cemetery is divided into three parts: Division 1 (north side), east of Brighton Road and north of Marshall Avenue; Division 2 (south side), east of Brighton Road and south of Marshall Avenue; Division 3 (west side), west of Brighton Road and south of Island Avenue. Divisions 1 and 2 are part of the Perry Hilltop neighborhood, and Division 3 is in the California-Kirkbride neighborhood, with Brighton Road the border between the neighborhoods.

The Ohio Connecting Railroad Bridge is a steel bridge which crosses the Ohio River at Brunot's Island at the west end of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. It consists of two major through truss spans over the main and back channels of the river, of 508 feet (155 m) and 406 feet (124 m) respectively, with deck truss approaches.

Brunots Island Race Track was a one-mile dirt oval on Brunot Island in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It hosted races from 1903 to 1914, including a race in 1905 AAA Championship Car season won by Louis Chevrolet. It is now the site of a fossil-fuel power plant.

Brunot Island (also spelled Brunot's Island) is a 129-acre (52 ha) island in the Ohio River. It is officially part of the Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood of Pittsburgh, in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania in the United States. It was named for Dr. Felix Brunot who settled the island with his extended family in the late 1700s. The family entertained the Lewis and Clark Expedition on the island in August 1803. The island is home to the Brunot Island Generating Station, a 315 MW fossil fuel power plant. The Ohio Connecting Railroad Bridge crosses the Ohio River at the island. The island does not otherwise connect to the land, and all vehicular traffic must use a ferry to access the island. The employees of the power plant use a pedestrian walkway on the railroad bridge to go to work. The walkway is not accessible to the public. From 1903 to 1914, the island was the home of Brunots Island Race Track.

Anderson Manor (former James Anderson House, currently Anderson Manor Family Hospice and Palliative Care) located at 1423 Liverpool Street in the Manchester neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was built circa 1830 (additions were added to the house in 1905). Colonel James Anderson, who lived at this house, was the man from whom Andrew Carnegie (1835–1919) borrowed books during his formative years. Anderson opened his personal library of 400 volumes to working boys each Saturday night, and helped start the first library in the area. The house was added to the List of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation Historic Landmarks in 1989.

The Clifton Incline was a funicular that operated from 1889 to 1905 in what is now the Perry Hilltop neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It extended from its base at Sarah Street (now Strauss Street) at the intersection with Myrtle Street (now the closed Metcalf Street) to its top landing at Clifton Park near the end of Clifton Street (now Chautauqua Street). Businessman William McCreery co-founded the incline to facilitate access to a residential neighborhood developed from his former estate. The Clifton Avenue Incline Plane Company, formed for the purpose of erecting and operating the incline, was chartered on June 25, 1888. Within a year of that date, McCreery offered free incline rides to property auctions on the hill.There were two cars, only one of which carried passengers, the other one being a dummy car serving as a counterweight. A single operator performed the duties of engineer, conductor, and fireman.The incline closed after an accident on November 10, 1905, in which the passenger car—empty at the time—broke loose, hurtled down the track, plowed through the waiting room on Sarah Street and smashed into the front steps of a house.
