The Montreal International Auto Show (Le Salon International de l'Auto de Montréal in French) is an annual auto show held for 10 days in mid-to-late January in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It usually takes place at the Palais des congrès de Montréal. The Montréal International Auto Show (MIAS) is produced by the Montréal Automobile Dealers Corporation. When it was first launched in 1969, the show's aim was to beef up car sales during a time of the year when business was known to be relatively slow for car dealerships. This event is, after all these years, a much-anticipated annual rite among Montréalers and it is one of the most important events of its type in Canada with an average of more than 200,000 visitors. The auto show features over 650 vehicles on 375,000 square feet (34,800 m2). [1]. The 2014 edition of the MIAS was held at Palais de Congrés from January 17 to January 26 inclusively.

The Montreal Reggae Festival is a reggae (music) festival held annually at the Old Port of Montreal, during the 2nd weekend of July. Founded in 2004, by Eric Blagrove (President: 2004–present), Ricardo Forbes (Vice-President: 2004–2008), and Cezar Brumeanu (Producer: 2004–2008), the Montreal Reggae Fest was a three-day weekend-long, three stage event. The 2014 festival will include performances from Sean Paul, Demarco, I-Octane, Maxi Priest, Sanchez, Marcia Griffiths, and Percy SledgeThe festival took a hiatus in 2018 and is expected to be back in 2019.

Otakuthon is Quebec's largest anime convention promoting Japanese animation (anime), Japanese graphic novels (manga), related gaming and Japanese pop-culture (music, cinema, television). It is held annually for 3 days in downtown Montreal during a weekend in August. It is a non-profit, fan-run anime convention that was initiated by Concordia University's anime club, named Otaku Anime of Concordia University (Otaku Anime for short). The name "Otakuthon" is a portmanteau of the Japanese word "otaku" and "marathon". Otakuthon strives to be a bilingual (French and English) event, having programming, the masquerade and the program book in both official languages. The first edition of Otakuthon was held in 2006 in mid-June, but later moved to early-mid August / late July from 2007 onward. Last year's edition, Otakuthon 2019, was held on August 16–18, 2019 at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.

The Montreal Star Building is a former office complex, now hotel, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The complex, which is located in Old Montreal is composed of three different attached buildings belonging to the Montreal Star newspaper. The complex was home to the Montreal Star and several of its sister publications until it ceased publication in 1979. From 1980 to 2003, the Montreal Gazette owned the building. The complex was renovated in 2008-2009 and is now part of the Westin Montreal hotel.

The Canada Life Building in Montreal, Quebec, Canada is a Renaissance Revival building completed in 1895 by Buffalo, New York architect Richard A. Waite and is an example of a first-generation skyscraper.Located in the heart of what was once Canada's financial capital on St. James Street, in what is now Old Montreal, the Canada Life Building was the first in Montreal to utilize an eight-storey steel structure.

Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle is a public square located in the Quartier international of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The London and Lancashire Life Building was built in 1898 by the architect Edward Maxwell for the London and Lancashire Life Association of Scotland. La Joute ("the joust") (1969) is a public sculptural installation by Quebec artist Jean-Paul Riopelle, a member of the Automatiste movement. It is currently located in Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle in the Quartier international de Montréal.

Place-d'Armes station is a Montreal Metro station in the borough of Ville-Marie in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is operated by the Société de transport de Montréal (STM) and serves the Orange Line. It is located in Old Montreal. The station opened on October 14, 1966, as part of the original network of the Metro. It was briefly the terminus of the Orange Line until Square-Victoria-OACI station opened four months later, quickly followed by Bonaventure station, the planned terminus.

The Molson Bank Building was built at the corner of St. Peter and St. James streets (now rue Saint-Pierre and rue Saint-Jacques) in Old Montreal as the headquarters of the Molson Bank in 1866 by order of founder William Molson (1793-1875). It was the first building in Montreal to be built in the Second Empire style, designed by George Browne working with his son John James George Browne. Also known as The Downtown Eastside or the Roosevelt Hotel. The bank later merged with Bank of Montreal in 1925.
