Colors was a 70-seat restaurant in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York City. The September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center destroyed the popular Windows on the World restaurant, and, when many of its former workers remained unemployed a non-profit started a restaurant named Colors to employ them, while upgrading their skills.

Economy Candy is a candy store in the Lower East Side New York City. It was established in 1937. The managers are the Cohen family.Serious Eats described Economy Candy as the craziest and best candy store in New York City.The store celebrated its 85th anniversary in July 2022.Economy Candy stocks many branded candies, including older brands which are difficult to find elsewhere.The Cohen family who owns the store also has a history of themselves working at the store.In February 2023 the store announced its first expansion location, which will be in the Chelsea Market.

Congregation Chasam Sopher is an Orthodox synagogue located at 10 Clinton Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It was formed in 1892 by the merger of two congregations of immigrants from Poland. It occupies a historic Romanesque Revival synagogue building built in 1853 by Congregation Rodeph Sholom. It is among the oldest synagogue buildings still standing in the United States, the second-oldest synagogue building in New York, and the oldest still in use in the state.Renovation of the upstairs, completed in 2006, included conservation of the Torah ark, the installation of new stained-glass windows, and stripping the interior of paint to expose the original wood. The outside was also landscaped, creating a garden for the neighborhood.As of 2011, the rabbi was Azriel Siff.

It is located at 4 Clinton Street (between East Houston Street and Stanton Street), on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York.The restaurant is noted especially for its pancakes, its burgers, and its biscuits and other fresh-baked goods. In December 2010, The New York Times described it as a "brunch magnet", and The New York Daily News said the "legendary" dining destination was "the city's hottest breakfast nook". Time called it a "cult favorite". In 2011, Poor Taste Magazine rated it # 1 in its list of the 100 Best Brunch Spots in America.

The 124 Ridge Street Gallery was a collective gallery founded in New York's Lower East Side in 1985. Founding members were Susan Bachemin, Elizabeth Evers, Jane Fine, Matthew Harrison, Michael Kaniecki, Robert McGrath, Heidi Marben, Laurie Olinder, and Joe Vinson. Subsequent members included Amy Berniker, Ruth Pomerantz, Paul Rodriguez, Roger W. Sayre, Ann Shea, Paul Villinski and Carla Weisberg. The gallery exhibited art and film from local artists and filmmakers during the 1980s East Village art gallery scene, including Matty Jankowski's 1987 mail art show "The Joke is in the Mail." The film screening series Film Crash was founded at the gallery. The gallery was closed in 1997.

Rivington Arms was an art gallery in New York City. Melissa Bent and Mirabelle Marden (daughter of artists Helen and Brice Marden) founded the gallery as a small storefront on Rivington Street in 2001, part of a new wave of galleries opening in the Lower East Side. In 2005, it moved to a larger space on East 2nd Street.The gallery participates in the following art fairs: The Armory Show, Frieze, NADA, and VOLTAshow. It was announced on November 5, 2008 in Artforum that due to business differences, Rivington Arms would be closing its location in January 2009 after they attended the Frieze Art Fair in London.

ABC No Rio is a collectively-run non-profit arts organization on New York City's Lower East Side. It was founded in 1980 in a squat at 156 Rivington Street, following the eviction of the 1979-80 Real Estate Show. The centre featured an art gallery space, a zine library, a darkroom, a silkscreening studio, and public computer lab. In addition, it played host to a number of radical projects including weekly hardcore punk matinees and the city Food Not Bombs collective. In July 2016, ABC No Rio vacated the Rivington Street building in advance of demolition and construction of a new facility on the same site for its programs, projects and operations, including the silkscreen studio, zine library, art exhibitions and music shows.
