Al Lawson Center

Jake Gaither Gymnasium is a 3,365-seat multi-purpose arena in Tallahassee, Florida. It was built in 1963 and was home to the Florida A&M University Rattlers basketball team until 2008. It is named for Jake Gaither, head football coach at Florida A&M University from 1945 until 1969. In November 2009, the Rattlers Men's and Women's Basketball teams as well as the Women's Volleyball team moved into the Senator Al Lawson Multi Purpose Teaching Gymnasium, across the street from Gaither Gym.

Bragg Memorial Stadium is a 19,633-seat football stadium in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. It opened in 1957 and was renovated in 1982. It is home to the Florida A&M Rattlers football team.

The Carnegie Library at FAMU is a historic building on the campus of Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. Built in 1908, the two-story, white-columned building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. "It was part of a national building program by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie." The Black Archives was established by the Florida Legislature in 1971 and opened in 1975. It was one of many public and college libraries funded by Andrew Carnegie, which were named Carnegie Library after him. It is the oldest brick building on the campus and the first Carnegie Library to be built on a black land-grant college campus.Carnegie's library was built at what is today FAMU because the city of Tallahassee refused it, since under Carnegie's rules it would have had to serve black patrons (see History of Tallahassee, Florida#Black history). At the time, FAMU's predecessor, the State Normal and Industrial College for Colored Students, was in need of a new library. Its library had been located in the mansion of Florida Governor William Pope Duval, which burned in 1905. The Carnegie Library was built on the site of that mansion. It was designed by architect William Augustus Edwards and was built in 1908. On November 17, 1978, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

Oscar A. Moore–Costa Kittles Field is a baseball venue in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. It is home to the Florida A&M Rattlers baseball team of the NCAA Division I Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Built in 1983, it has a capacity of 500 spectators. It features a natural grass surface, stadium lighting, dugouts, and a press box.It is named for former Florida A&M baseball coaches Oscar A. Moore and Costa Kittles. Combined, the coaches won over 500 games and 14 conference titles. Moore was inducted into the university's athletic Hall of Fame in 1978, as was Kittles in 1982.

Florida Agriculture & Mechanical Hospital (1911-1971) was the first institution in Florida providing medical care to African Americans, who, during the segregation period, were not permitted to receive care at whites-only hospitals. (See Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare on Tallahassee's other hospitals of the period.) There was no other such institution within 150 miles (240 km) of Tallahassee. In 1940, "less than a dozen" counties in Florida had hospital facilities for Negroes.: 17 

Railroad Square Art District is an arts, culture and entertainment district of Tallahassee, Florida, located off Railroad Avenue (south of the Amtrak station and FAMU), filled with a variety of metal art sculptures and murals, and stores selling artwork and collectibles. Railroad Square is a WWII-era industrial warehouse park turned into an art district with more than 70 shops, galleries, and small businesses. It's known for its small locally owned shops, working artist studios, and alternative art scene. In 2021, a skateable art park was added in partnership with Team Pain. The skatepark features Florida's longest snake-run.

Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU), commonly known as Florida A&M, is a public historically black land-grant university in Tallahassee, Florida. Founded in 1887, It is the third largest historically black university in the United States by enrollment and the only public historically black university in Florida. It is a member institution of the State University System of Florida, as well as one of the state's land grant universities, and is accredited to award baccalaureate, master's and doctoral degrees by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. FAMU sports teams are known as the Rattlers, and compete in Division I of the NCAA. They are a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

Tallahassee station, also known as the Jacksonville, Pensacola and Mobile Railroad Company Freight Depot, is a historic train station in Tallahassee, Florida. It was built in 1858 and was served by various railways until 2005, when Amtrak suspended service due to Hurricane Katrina. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.

The Williams House (also known as the Swain House or Langston Apts. or Allen Boarding House) was a historic home in Tallahassee, Florida, United States. It was located at 450 Saint Francis Street. On April 4, 1996, it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. By March 24, 2011 it had been demolished along with 12 other properties in the All Saints neighborhood leaving 9 contributing properties for the historic district.

Florida A&M University Developmental Research School (FAMU-DRS) is a K-12 laboratory school in Tallahassee, Florida, affiliated with Florida A&M University. It was established in 1887 with elementary grades, before expanding to junior high school at a later point. Its original location was a temporary facility at 424 Osceola Street. In its history it was known as the Demonstration Elementary School and The Model School. It was named the Lucy Moten Elementary at Florida A&M University in 1932. Its name changed from a "laboratory school" to the current one around the time the Sidney Martin Developmental Research School Act of 1991 passed.

The Ralph D. Turlington Florida Education Center, commonly known as the Turlington Building and colloquially known as The Razor, is an 18-story building in downtown Tallahassee, Florida. The building was completed in 1989. It houses the Florida Department of Education and was named after former Education Commissioner Ralph Turlington.

On May 27, 2020, after 11 a.m., a 38-year-old African-American transgender man, Tony McDade, was fatally shot in the Leon Arms apartment complex by an officer of the Tallahassee Police Department, following the fatal stabbing of Malik Jackson on nearby Saxon Street. Early reports of the incident misgendered McDade as a "woman", and on May 28, the police department described McDade as a woman who "identified as a man". On September 3, a Leon County grand jury found that the police use of force against McDade was justified. Police body camera showing McDade pointing a firearm at one of the police officers before being shot was also released.McDade is a suspect in Jackson's fatal stabbing and police stated that McDade pointed a gun at police and that a bloody knife was found at the scene. Some witnesses have contradicted statements by the Police Department that McDade was armed with a gun. The officer also allegedly called McDade the N-word before shooting and killing him.
