Stratford, Ontario

Stratford City Hall is the city hall of Stratford, Ontario, and a National Historic Site of Canada. It sits amidst the city's business district, on a triangular town square. The original town hall was built in 1856 and incorporated space for market stalls and other stores, in addition to providing space for a concert hall, police station, fire department, and council chambers. The building was destroyed by fire in 1897. A competition was held for the design of a new city hall, with two winners announced, one incorporating the remains of the previous structure, one for a wholly new building. The latter was selected, and was completed in 1900. The building was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1976.

The Stratford School of Interaction Design and Business, also known as the University of Waterloo Stratford School and formerly the University of Waterloo Stratford Campus, is a satellite campus of the University of Waterloo located in Stratford, Ontario, Canada.Founded in June 2009, the University of Waterloo Stratford School is part of the Faculty of Arts, established to provide programs that focus on digital media, interaction design, digital technologies, content creation and user experience within a business context.

The Tom Patterson Theatre is a theatre located along the Avon River in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. A project delayed since 2018 by COVID, in 2022 it joined the lineup of Stratford Festival theatres.

Stratford Central Secondary School was a public high school and middle school in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. The school was originally called Stratford Collegiate Institute.In 2020, the school was renamed Stratford Intermediate School, and became a school for grades 7 and 8. Secondary students from the former school were moved to Stratford Northwestern Secondary School, which was renamed Stratford District Secondary School.

The William Allman Memorial Arena, originally Stratford Arena, is an ice hockey arena in Stratford, Ontario. This arena is home to the Stratford Warriors (Formerly the Stratford Cullitons). The arena has been used by numerous film and television crews, also in Bauer's "Leave an Impression" advertising campaign. Many NHLers began their Junior hockey career in Stratford with the Junior B Stratford Cullitons (who have moved back to their original name 'Stratford Warriors' in 2016). The Stratford Festival is a theatre festival which runs from April to October in the city of Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Founded by local journalist Tom Patterson in 1952, the festival was formerly known as the Stratford Shakespearean Festival, the Shakespeare Festival and the Stratford Shakespeare Festival. The festival was one of the first arts festivals in Canada and continues to be one of its most prominent. It is recognized worldwide for its productions of Shakespearean plays. The festival's primary focus is to present productions of William Shakespeare's plays, but it has a range of theatre productions from Greek tragedy to Broadway musicals and contemporary works. In the early years of the festival, Shakespeare's works typically represented approximately one third of the offerings in the largest venue, the Festival Theatre. More recently, however, the festival's focus has shifted to encompass works by a more diverse range of playwrights. The success of the festival changed Stratford into a city where arts and tourism play important roles in the economy. The festival attracts many tourists from outside Canada, most notably British and American visitors.

Festival Theatre is a performing arts theatre in Stratford, Ontario that is the main venue of the Stratford Festival. The theatre was constructed in the spring of 1953 and was completed in time for the festival's opening on 13 July of that year. The original theatre comprised concrete bleachers covered by a tent and was usable only in the summer. The tent theatre remained in use for four seasons and was taken down in August 1956. That month, construction began on a new permanent building using the existing bleachers. The permanent building opened for the start of the 1957 season. Both the tent theatre and the permanent theatre were designed by architects Rounthwaite & Fairfield of Toronto. Festival Theatre has become a civic symbol of Stratford and serves as the center of the city's cultural life.

Stratford District Secondary School is a Public Secondary School in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. Students can study a full range of courses to prepare for university, college, apprenticeship and the workforce, along with Five Specialist High Skills Majors (SHSM) courses: Health & Wellness, Energy, Transportation, Manufacturing and Hospitality & Tourism.In 2014, the school had an enrollment of 1,150 students in grades 7-12.Extra-curricular activities included a wide range of athletics and clubs including Me To We, Fly Fishing Club, Concert Band, Drama Club, E-Team and spring baseball.

CJCS-FM is a Canadian radio station in Stratford, Ontario broadcasting at 107.1 FM with a classic hits/variety hits format branded as 107.1 CJCS. The station is owned by Vista Radio. CJCS also broadcasts Toronto Blue Jays games. The station, known as 10AK began broadcasting in 1928 as an amateur station at 250 metres. In 1933, the station changed to 1200 kHz, moved to 1210 in 1936 and then moved to 1240 on March 29, 1941. 10AK switched to its present callsign CJCS in 1935. Lloyd Robertson, Bob Bratina and Tony Parsons all started their respective broadcasting careers at this station. Over the years since the station began broadcasting in 1928, CJCS went through a number of different ownerships. On May 11, 1990, the CRTC denied an application by Telemedia Communications to convert CJCS to 104.1 MHz.On June 25, 1997, Raedio Inc., received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to acquire CJCS from Telemedia Communications.CJCS was owned by Raedio Inc. and opened up a new FM sister station CHGK-FM on September 2, 2003. In September 2010, Raedio Inc. announced a tentative deal, pending CRTC approval, to sell the station to Haliburton Broadcasting Group which received CRTC approval on February 21, 2011.On April 23, 2012 Vista Broadcast Group, which owns a number of radio stations in western Canada, announced a deal to acquire Haliburton Broadcasting, in cooperation with Westerkirk Capital. The transaction was approved by the CRTC on October 19, 2012.On January 23, 2015, Vista applied with the CRTC to convert CJCS to FM with an average effective radiated power (ERP) of 900 watts (maximum ERP of 4,000 watts with an effective height of antenna above average terrain of 32.6 metres). The application was approved on August 10, 2015.On August 3, 2017, CJCS officially moved to 107.1 FM and relaunched as 107.1 Juice FM.Due to its low ERP, CJCS-FM has co-channel interference with CILQ-FM in Toronto, Ontario which has a higher ERP. On July 7, 2022, the station changed back to its old brand name, 107.1 CJCS.
