Batchelor Hill

Brocklehurst is a neighbourhood in the western area of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Brocklehurst is bordered by the Thompson River to the south, North Shore to the east, Tranquille to the west, and the Batchelor hills and Batchelor Heights aka Batchelor Hills to the north. The community is named after Ernest Brocklehurst,from Liverpool, England who lived in the area between 1896 and 1907.Brocklehurst, which briefly existed as a District Municipality in its own right from 1971 until amalgamation with Kamloops in 1973, is the largest of the city's neighbourhoods, accounting for 16% of the city's population. The Brocklehurst area (or Brock) as referred to by its residents, is the warmest and most hospitable of the micro climates in the city of Kamloops. There can be as much as a 4 degree Celsius increase from Brock, to Aberdeen all within the city of Kamloops.

The airport is classified as an airport of entry by Nav Canada and is staffed by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). CBSA officers at this airport can handle general aviation aircraft only, with no more than 15 passengers.

Kamloops Airport (IATA: YKA, ICAO: CYKA), also known as Fulton Field or John "Moose" Fulton Airfield, is a regional airport located 5 nautical miles (9 km; 6 mi) west northwest of Kamloops, British Columbia, a city in the Thompson region of Canada. It is owned by the Kamloops Airport Authority Society, while operated by Kamloops Airport Limited, serving the North Okanagan, Nicola and Shuswap areas. Initial examination for the airport's construction began in June 1931, when the city leased 46 acres (19 ha) from fruit-growing company BC Fruitlands. Along with an air show presentation, the airport publicly opened on August 5, 1939. It has 2,780 by 49 ft (847 by 15 m) and 8,000 by 148 ft (2,438 by 45 m) runways aligned 04/22 and 09/27, and served approximately 263,290 passengers in 2011. The airfield maintains a restaurant, The Bread Garden, as well as a medical facility, accommodation areas and administrative buildings; food and snacks are also offered. Its terminal, runway and navigation aids were expanded and upgraded by 2009. It has seen one accident throughout its history. The airport has daily scheduled flights to four destinations in Canada operated by Air Canada Express, Central Mountain Air and WestJet. The terminal handled 312,895 passengers in 2014, an increase of 7.2% over the 290,394 passengers in 2013.

Batchelor Heights is a neighbourhood of the city of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Its name derives from that of Batchelor Hill, a local landmark named for Owen Salisbury Batchelor, an early settler, prospector and rancher who lived in the area.

NorBrock Stadium is a professional-sized baseball field located at the McArthur Island Park in Kamloops, British Columbia, in Canada. It was built as a 1967 Canada Centennial project and seats approximately 1,500 spectators.It hosts the annual Kamloops International Ball Tournament, which involves both Canadian and American teams, every July.The Kamloops NorthPaws have played collegiate summer baseball at Norbrock Stadium in the West Coast League since 2022, their first season having been delayed a year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

North Kamloops is a neighbourhood and former town located in the City of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. It is located immediately to the northwest of Downtown Kamloops across the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers. In 2016, North Kamloops had a population of 10,995, or 12.2% of Kamloops' total population of 90,280, and had the highest population density of any neighbourhood in the city at 2,750 people per km2. North Kamloops is one of four neighbourhoods the City of Kamloops considers part of its Core, the others being Downtown, Sagebrush, and the West End - all on the south shore of the city.North Kamloops has historically been Kamloops' most socioeconomically disadvantaged neighbourhood, but in recent years market factors and revitalization efforts made by the City, community groups, and local businesses have begun to stimulate investment in the area, including the development of new commercial and residential real estate.

CJKC-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 103.1 FM in Kamloops, British Columbia. The station broadcasts a country format branded as New Country 103.1. The station received approval in 2005 and was launched on August 11, 2006, by local broadcaster NL Broadcasting, the owner of CHNL and CKRV. It was acquired by Newcap Radio in 2017.

CKBZ-FM is a radio station in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Broadcasting at 100.1 FM, the station airs a hot adult contemporary format (per reporting status on Mediabase) branded as B-100. The station is currently owned by the Jim Pattison Group. The station was first launched in 1926 as CFJC 1120 AM, owned by the local N. S. Dalgliesh & Son department store. It was acquired by the Kamloops Sentinel in 1932, and changed frequency the following year to 1310. The station became an affiliate of the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission, a corporate precursor to the CBC, and retained an affiliation with CBC Radio's main network afterward. Its frequency subsequently changed to 800 AM in 1934, 880 in 1935 and 910 in 1941. The Sentinel finally sold the station to Inland Broadcasters in 1957. Sister station CFJC-FM was launched in 1962. CFJC dropped its CBC affiliation in 1977 when the CBC launched CBYK-FM, then a local rebroadcaster of Vancouver's CBU. The station then moved to its final AM frequency, 550, in 1979. CFJC and its FM sister station were acquired by the Jim Pattison Group, their current owner, in 1987. Pattison converted CFJC to its current FM frequency, adult contemporary format and call sign in 2001. By December 2010, the station switched formats to hot adult contemporary, dropping most classic hits from the playlist, and going head-to-head up against rock-leaning CHR/Top 40 station CKRV-FM (which had been hot AC up until 2010). CKBZ-FM had been a reporter on the Mediabase & Nielsen BDS Canadian hot adult contemporary panels before the switch to hot AC. CKBZ-FM was the last adult contemporary station reporter on the Mediabase Canadian hot AC panels, while the only non-hot AC stations on those panels such as CKRV-FM, CHSU-FM and CICF-FM are CHR instead.

CIFM-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 98.3 FM in Kamloops, British Columbia. The station currently broadcasts an Active rock format branded as 98.3 CIFM. The station was launched in 1962 as CFFM-FM by Inland Broadcasters, and was acquired by the Jim Pattison Group in 1987.

CKRV-FM is a Canadian radio station, broadcasting at 97.5 FM in Kamloops, British Columbia. The station broadcasts a classic rock format branded as K 97.5, and prior to 2010, it had a hot adult contemporary format. Even though as a top 40 station, it was still being classified as a hot AC station by Mediabase and Nielsen BDS. CKRV's most recent shift to top 40 was plagued by CKBZ-FM shifting from adult contemporary to hot AC in the late 2000s. The station was launched in 1984 by Hal Yerxa's CFCW Ltd. It was acquired by Newcap Broadcasting in 1989, but was then sold to local broadcaster NL Broadcasting, the owner of AM station CHNL in the city, in 1993. On February 20, 2015, CKRV-FM switched to a variety hits format as 97.5 The River, and adopted a new slogan Kamloops' best variety of the '80s, '90s and WOW, but kept the station's branding. In June 2017, the station was reacquired by Newcap, along with sister stations CHNL and CJKC-FM.In February 2018, CKRV rebranded to K 97.5 and flipped to classic hits. On November 26, 2021, CKRV-FM flipped to classic rock, keeping the K 97.5 branding while changing to a new slogan of "Kamloops' Classic Rock" and changing its programming to match CKKO-FM. The CKRV call sign was also used by an unrelated station in Drummondville (Quebec), which operated at 1400 AM from 1974 to 1980.

Kenna Cartwright Park is a municipal park located in Kamloops, British Columbia. The park was created to preserve one of Kamloops' natural landscapes and views. It is named after the former mayor, Kenna Cartwright. It features over 40 kilometres (25 mi) of hiking trails through grasslands, hills, valleys, and Ponderosa Pine and Douglas Fir forests.
