New Town Hall (Prague)

Prague New City Hall (Czech: Nová radnice), the central administrative building of Prague (not to be confused with the New Town Hall/ Novoměstská radnice, once the town hall of Prague's New Town and now the building of the city district Prague 2), is located on the east side of Mariánské náměstí (Virgin Mary Square) in the centre of the Old Town, Prague 1, across from the Clementinum building complex. Since 1945 it has been the seat of Prague City Hall, Prague City Council, Prague City Assembly and the Mayor of Prague. The building contains offices, meeting halls and formal residences for the mayor and other city officials.

Charles Square (Czech: Karlovo náměstí) is a city square in the New Town of Prague, Czech Republic. At roughly 80,550 m² it is one of the largest squares in the world and was the largest town square of the medieval Europe. Founded in 1348 as the main square of the New Town by Charles IV, it was known as Dobytčí trh (Cattle Market) from the 15th century and finally named after its founder in 1848. The central portion of the square was turned into a park in the 1860s. The square is now one of the main transport hubs of the city centre with Karlovo náměstí metro station and numerous tram lines and busy roads crossing it in all directions.

The New Town (Czech: Nové Město) is a quarter in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic. New Town is the youngest and largest of the five independent (from the Middle Ages until 1784) towns that today comprise the historic center of modern Prague. New Town was founded in 1348 by Charles IV just outside the city walls to the east and south of the Old Town and encompassed an area of 7.5 km²; about three times the size of the Old Town. The population of Prague in 1378 was well over 40,000, perhaps as much as twice that, making it the 4th most populated city north of the Alps and, by area, the 3rd largest city in Europe. Although New Town can trace its current layout to its construction in the 14th century, only few churches and administrative buildings from this time survive. There are many secular and educational buildings in New Town, but also especially magnificent gothic and baroque churches. These nevertheless are not the main drawing points for tourists. New Town's most famous landmark is Wenceslas Square, which was originally built as a horsemarket and now functions as a center of commerce and tourism. In the 15th century, the Novoměstská radnice, or New Town Hall, was the site of the first of the three defenestrations of Prague.

Národní, formerly Národní třída, is one of the important avenues in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. It is placed on the boundary of New Town and Old Town, in the southwest direction from the centre of the city. This avenue connects Legion Bridge bridge with Jungmannovo náměstí. In medieval times, there were fortification walls.In the 1900s, the name of the avenue was Nové Aleje (New Avenue, German: Neue Allee), but its name was changed through the years: V alejích, V nových alejích, V stromořadí, Uršulinská, U Řetězového mostu or Ferdinandova. In the 19th century, important buildings and institutions, such as the National Theatre and the Czech Academy of Sciences were built here. On Friday November 17, 1989, riot police violently suppressed here a peaceful student demonstration, which is thought as the initiation of Velvet Revolution. Národní třída continued to be an eventful locale during the rest of the revolution.

Caritas Czech Republic (Czech: Charita Česká republika) is a Czech Catholic not-for-profit social welfare and humanitarian relief organisation. It is a service of the Czech Bishops' Conference and is the largest social welfare and charitable organisation in the country. Caritas Czech Republic is a member of both Caritas Europa and Caritas Internationalis.

Národní třída ("Avenue of the Nation", Czech pronunciation: [ˈnaːrodɲiː ˈtr̝iːda]) is a Prague Metro station on Line B and a former ghost station. The station has two exits, one to Spálená street where it connects to the tram network and other to M. D. Rettigové street, using a pair of lifts. The station was opened on 2 November 1985, as part of the inaugural section of Line B between Sokolovská and Smíchovské nádraží.The station was closed between July 2012 and June 2014 due to construction of a new shopping and business centre called Quadrio. Trains only passed through the station without stopping.

St. Ignatius Church (Czech: Kostel svatého Ignáce) is a church in Prague, Czech Republic. Located on Charles Square, the church was designed by Carlo Lurago in the early Baroque style, and built between 1655 and 1677. The church was built as part of the new Nove Mesto residence of the city's Jesuits, the third largest Jesuit complex in Europe, and dedicated to their patron saint and founder of the Jesuit Order, St. Ignatius of Loyola. The top of the facade carries a statue of St. Ignatius Loyola, placed there in 1671, with a halo surrounding his whole body. This feature was considered controversial at the time it was installed, as such a decoration was only considered appropriate for statues of Jesus Christ. The decorative painting of the exterior was carried out by Jan Jiří Heinsch and the sculpture work was that of Matěj Václav Jäckel. The interior is characterised by stucco decoration and features statues of several Jesuit and Czech saints. Many of the interior furnishings of the church date from around 1770, added by Jesuit painter Ignác Raab, who lived briefly at the complex.

The Private College of Business in Prague (VSO Praha) is a not-for-profit private university in Prague, Czech Republic. It has been a private higher education institution with the accredited study programmes of International Territorial Studies and Economy and Management in Transport and Communications since 2000. The University College of Business (VSO) is a member of distinguished European organizations active in the fields of tourism, air transport and education, and is a partner of a number of European universities.

The CEVRO Institute (Czech: CEVRO Institut) is a private university in Prague, Czech Republic, established in 2005 by CEVRO, a think-tank affiliated with the Civic Democratic Party (ODS).

Liberální Institut, also known as the Liberal Institute, is a Czech political think tank based in Prague which aims to promote the principles of classical liberal thought. First known as the F.A. Hayek Liberal Association, it was founded by Jiří Schwarz, Tomáš Ježek and Miroslav Ševčík in the fall of 1989 and later registered on February 6, 1990 under its current name. Currently led by Martin Panek, the Liberal Institute endeavors to develop and apply ideas of classical liberalism in relation to the Czech and European political system. Its activities are based on the principles of individual freedom, a government with limited powers, the free market and peace.
