Charles Square (Czech: Karlovo náměstí) is a city square in the New Town of Prague, Czech Republic. At roughly 80,550 m² it is one of the largest squares in the world and was the largest town square of the medieval Europe. Founded in 1348 as the main square of the New Town by Charles IV, it was known as Dobytčí trh (Cattle Market) from the 15th century and finally named after its founder in 1848. The central portion of the square was turned into a park in the 1860s. The square is now one of the main transport hubs of the city centre with Karlovo náměstí metro station and numerous tram lines and busy roads crossing it in all directions.

The New Town (Czech: Nové Město) is a quarter in the city of Prague in the Czech Republic. New Town is the youngest and largest of the five independent (from the Middle Ages until 1784) towns that today comprise the historic center of modern Prague. New Town was founded in 1348 by Charles IV just outside the city walls to the east and south of the Old Town and encompassed an area of 7.5 km²; about three times the size of the Old Town. The population of Prague in 1378 was well over 40,000, perhaps as much as twice that, making it the 4th most populated city north of the Alps and, by area, the 3rd largest city in Europe. Although New Town can trace its current layout to its construction in the 14th century, only few churches and administrative buildings from this time survive. There are many secular and educational buildings in New Town, but also especially magnificent gothic and baroque churches. These nevertheless are not the main drawing points for tourists. New Town's most famous landmark is Wenceslas Square, which was originally built as a horsemarket and now functions as a center of commerce and tourism. In the 15th century, the Novoměstská radnice, or New Town Hall, was the site of the first of the three defenestrations of Prague.

Drn (translated as a tuft from Czech) is a polyfunctional building located on the corner of streets Národní and Mikulandská in the New Town of Prague, Czech Republic. It contains the most expensive offices in the city and also some shops and restaurants. The building was designed by Stanislav Fiala is an example of 21st century modern and sustainable Czech architecture. It was built between 2012 and 2017 on the site of a car park. It has four underground and eight floors above ground, topped with a green roof. The organic shaped façade is made from glass and steel. The name of the building comes from the greenery, which is growing on galleries of the building. The baroque Schönkirchovský palác is connected to the building from the back.

The New Town Hall (Czech: Novoměstská radnice, German: Neustädter Rathaus}) is the administrative centre of Prague's (medieval) New Town Quarter, or "Nové Město". In 1419 it was the site of the first of the three defenestrations of Prague.

Prague New City Hall (Czech: Nová radnice), the central administrative building of Prague (not to be confused with the New Town Hall/ Novoměstská radnice, once the town hall of Prague's New Town and now the building of the city district Prague 2), is located on the east side of Mariánské náměstí (Virgin Mary Square) in the centre of the Old Town, Prague 1, across from the Clementinum building complex. Since 1945 it has been the seat of Prague City Hall, Prague City Council, Prague City Assembly and the Mayor of Prague. The building contains offices, meeting halls and formal residences for the mayor and other city officials.

The Research Institute of Brewing and Malting (RIBM) (Czech: Výzkumný ústav pivovarský a sladařský, a.s.) in Czech - was founded in 1887 and since 1994 It has been a joint-stock company. It is one of the oldest scientific research institutes in the Central European region.

Karlovo náměstí (Czech pronunciation: [ˈkarlovo ˈnaːmɲɛsciː]) is a Prague Metro station on Line B. Its name is Czech for "Charles Square", after the plaza to which it is adjacent. The station has two exits, one leading to Charles Square and the other to Palacký Square (Czech: Palackého náměstí), both of which are major tram hubs. The station was opened on 2 November 1985, as part of the inaugural section of Line B between Sokolovská and Smíchovské nádraží.

Prague Institute of Planning and Development (Czech: Institut plánování a rozvoje hl. m. Prahy, abbreviation IPR) is a public-benefit corporation in charge of developing the concept behind the city's architecture, urbanism, development and formation managed by City Hall of Prague, Czechia. It represents spatial planning matters of Czech capital city, the coordination includes some documents as Prague Building Regulations, the Prague Waterfront Concept and the Prague Public Space Design Manual. It deals with the administration and propagation of main architectural competitions in the city. Institution Center for Architecture and Metropolitan Planning (CAMP) which is familiarizing public with the architectonic and urbanist plans of Prague is also managed by IPR. It was established in 2013 and has headquarters in Prague 2, in Buildings of Association of project studios.

The Saints Cyril and Methodius Cathedral in Nové Město, Prague, the Czech Republic, is the principal Czech and Slovak Orthodox Church.

Národní, formerly Národní třída, is one of the important avenues in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. It is placed on the boundary of New Town and Old Town, in the southwest direction from the centre of the city. This avenue connects Legion Bridge bridge with Jungmannovo náměstí. In medieval times, there were fortification walls.In the 1900s, the name of the avenue was Nové Aleje (New Avenue, German: Neue Allee), but its name was changed through the years: V alejích, V nových alejích, V stromořadí, Uršulinská, U Řetězového mostu or Ferdinandova. In the 19th century, important buildings and institutions, such as the National Theatre and the Czech Academy of Sciences were built here. On Friday November 17, 1989, riot police violently suppressed here a peaceful student demonstration, which is thought as the initiation of Velvet Revolution. Národní třída continued to be an eventful locale during the rest of the revolution.
