Ephraim Ward House

The Chestnut Hill is a historic apartment building at 219 Commonwealth Avenue in the village of Chestnut Hill in Newton, Massachusetts, USA.

The house at 173–175 Ward Street in Newton, Massachusetts is one of the city's few federal style houses. Built c. 1800, it is a 2+1⁄2-story wood-frame structure with clapboard siding and twin rear wall chimneys. The house has a five-bay facade with windows framed by narrow moulding. The main entrance is flanked by paired pilasters surrounding sidelight windows, topped by an entablature. The house was built by Charles Hyde and was involved in property disputes attending the construction of tunnels in the area in the mid-19th century.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The John Ward House at 184 Ward Street in Newton, Massachusetts is a Federal style house. It was deemed eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, but its owner objected to the listing.: 127 The house is a circa 1805 house built in Federal style on a 18,752-square-foot (1,742.1 m2) lot.: 4 The house has a square plan with five bays on each side. WZBC (90.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Alternative format. Licensed to Newton, Massachusetts, United States, the station serves Boston and its western suburbs. The station is currently owned by Boston College.While the station is run solely by students, much of the on-air staff is made up of members of the surrounding Boston community. The station broadcasts alternative and indie rock during the day, and then branches out to more diverse styles (ranging from funk to lounge to Middle Eastern) in the early evening. At night, the station focuses on experimental music, which it calls No Commercial Potential. WZBC is located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts at the corner of Beacon and Hammond on Boston College's main campus. WZBC also broadcasts sports for the Boston College Eagles, including basketball, football, hockey, baseball, and softball. There are also a few public affairs and news shows, including the syndicated Democracy Now! at noon weekdays and several hours of WZBC produced shows on the weekends.

The Monadnock Road Historic District is a residential historic district encompassing a cohesive subdivision of a former estate in the 1920s in the Chestnut Hill section of Newton, Massachusetts. The development was typical of Newton's explosive residential growth at that time, and includes primarily Tudor Revival houses. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The House at 107 Waban Hill Road in eastern Newton, Massachusetts is one of the city's finest examples of formal Italianate styling, set high on Waban Hill with The two story wood-frame house was built c. 1875, and exhibits the full range of Italianate elements, including an extended bracketed eave, quoined corners, elaborate, heavily pedimented windows, and the shallow-pitch central gable on the flushboarded main facade. The main entrance is sheltered by an arched portico, and the roof is topped by a square cupola with bands of narrow round-arch windows on each side.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

Boston College Main Campus Historic District encompasses the historic heart of the campus of Boston College in the Chestnut Hill area of Newton, Massachusetts. It consists of a collection of six Gothic Revival stone buildings, centered on Gasson Hall, designed by Charles Donagh Maginnis and begun in 1909.The district has been ambiguously listed in the National Park Service's NRIS database (the official repository for listings on the National Register of Historic Places) as "pending" since January 9, 1990 (1990-01-09).

The Bapst Library is a Boston College library located on the college's Chestnut Hill campus. The Bapst Library served as the original Boston College Library from 1925 until the opening of the Thomas P. O'Neill Library in 1984. The Bapst Library is named after the first Boston College president Rev. John Bapst. The library contains over 51,000 volumes relating to Art. Before the closing of the student art gallery, Bapst Library often had student exhibits that include artwork throughout the year. The most recent one, the Art Club Student Spring Show, lasted from March 28 to April 20, 2012.

The C. Lewis Harrison House is a historic house at 14 Eliot Memorial Road in Newton, Massachusetts. The 1 3/4 story wood-frame house was built c. 1915 for Charles Lewis Harrison, a Boston lawyer. It is an excellent example of a Craftsman cottage, attractively set on a wooded lot overlooking the Commonwealth Country Club. Its roof has a large shed-roof dormer, above which there are two eyebrow windows. The roof slopes down over a porch, and is supported by large rustic concrete columns. The main entrance is traditional in appearance, with flanking sidelight windows and a fanlight above. Twin rubblestone chimneys rise from the sides of the house.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

The Newton Commonwealth Golf Course is an 18-hole public golf course located in Newton, Massachusetts, just outside the city of Boston. This course was originally created as a nine-hole course in 1897 and was previously named the Commonwealth Club. The course expanded into an 18-hole course and was redesigned by influential golf course designer and Newton resident Donald Ross. The course was converted into a public course in the late 1970s when the city of Newton purchased the Chestnut Hill Country Club because of the club's financial instability.The course is currently managed by Sterling Golf Management Inc., and has a course rating of 67.0 with a slope rating of 125.

The Reginald A. Fessenden House is a historic house in the village of Chestnut Hill in Newton, Massachusetts. It was the residence from 1919 to his death in 1932 of the inventor Reginald A. Fessenden (1866–1932), called "the father of radio broadcasting," because he was the first to broadcast the human voice and music by radio. The house was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976 in recognition of Fessenden's accomplishments.
