The Hammond House is an historic house located at 9 Old Orchard Road in the village of Chestnut Hill in Newton, Massachusetts. With an estimated construction date of 1645-1730, it is believed to be the oldest house in Newton. It is also a rare example of a First Period house that was started as a single cell (three bays with chimney behind one bay), that was expanded to five bays later in the First Period; such expansion usually took place later in the 18th century, during the Georgian period. The house has been extended multiple times over the intervening centuries; the original core now lies just east of the main entrance. The original house was built by Hon. Ebenezer Stone when he moved from the Stone homestead at Mount Auburn in Watertown.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. In the early 2020s the house was remodeled, a project that entailed removing most of the historic interior finishes and the creation of a non-historic contemporary aesthetic. "9 Orchard Rd".

The Ephraim Ward House is a historic house at 121 Ward Street in Newton, Massachusetts. The two-story wood-frame house was built in 1821, and is one of a few Federal style houses in eastern Newton. This house was built by Ephraim Ward to replace one built by his ancestor, John Ward, in 1661 on the same site. The Wards owned farmland in the area until the early 20th century. The house is five bays wide, with a hip roof and clapboard siding, and a central entrance flanked by pilasters and topped by a paneled entablature.The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Center for Retirement Research at Boston College (CRR) was established in 1998 as part of the Retirement Research Consortium (RRC). In 2018, the CRR received renewed support from the U.S. Social Security Administration under the Retirement and Disability Research Consortium (RDRC). The RDRC includes parallel centers at the National Bureau of Economic Research., the University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin–Madison. The center is a non-profit research institute, affiliated with the Carroll School of Management at Boston College. All of the CRR's research and publications are available to the public on its website.The center sponsors multiple research projects and disseminates the findings, trains new scholars, and provides access to data on retirement.

The Bapst Library is a Boston College library located on the college's Chestnut Hill campus. The Bapst Library served as the original Boston College Library from 1925 until the opening of the Thomas P. O'Neill Library in 1984. The Bapst Library is named after the first Boston College president Rev. John Bapst. The library contains over 51,000 volumes relating to Art. Before the closing of the student art gallery, Bapst Library often had student exhibits that include artwork throughout the year. The most recent one, the Art Club Student Spring Show, lasted from March 28 to April 20, 2012.

It consists of a collection of six Gothic Revival stone buildings, centered on Gasson Hall, designed by Charles Donagh Maginnis and begun in 1909.The district has been ambiguously listed in the National Park Service's NRIS database (the official repository for listings on the National Register of Historic Places) as "pending" since January 9, 1990 (1990-01-09).
