Nijkerk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈnɛikɛr(ə)k] ; Dutch Low Saxon: Niekark) is a municipality and a city located in the middle of the Netherlands, in the province of Gelderland.

Slichtenhorst is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Nijkerk, and lies about 8 km east of Amersfoort.It was first mentioned in 1434 as Slichterhorst, and means "flat height with growth". The postal authorities have placed it under Nijkerk. The land around Slichtenhorst used to be owned by the Abdinckhof monastery in Paderborn. In 1803, during the French occupation, the land was confiscated by the State and sold to Dutch farmers. In 1840, Slichtenhorst was home to 423 people.

Driedorp is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Nijkerk, and lies about 10 km east of Amersfoort.It was first mentioned in 1874 as Driedorp and probably means "village of three houses". The postal authorities have placed it under Nijkerk. The village developed in the late 19th century, and used to have a railway stop from 1903 until 1933. A little church was built in 1867 and since 2010, it is an independent church, because it did not want to join the united Protestant Church in the Netherlands. In 2019, it won the competition for most beautiful place name in Gelderland.

Nijkerkerveen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Nijkerk, and lies about 6 km east of Amersfoort. It was first mentioned in 1807 as Nieuwkerker Vheen, and means "bog near Nijkerk". In 1840, it was home to 1,197 people. In 1908, the first church was built.

Doornsteeg is a neighbourhood of Nijkerk and a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Nijkerk, and lies about 8 km northeast of Amersfoort.It was first mentioned in 1556 as Dorenstege, and means "thorny path". The hamlet consists of about 25 houses. Since 2016, Nijkerk has started to build a new neighbourhood near the hamlet. It will consists of about 1,200 houses and cover an area of 59 hectares (150 acres).

Holk is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is a part of the municipality of Nijkerk, and lies about 7 km northeast of Amersfoort.It was first mentioned around 1325 as Hollic, and means "low lying neighbourhood". Holk is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Nijkerk. In 1840, it was home to 204 people. Since 2012, it has place name signs.

Zwartebroek is a village in the municipality of Barneveld in the Dutch province of Gelderland.The village is situated on the Veluwe. It lies north of Terschuur and east of Hoevelaken. Like its neighbour Nijkerkerveen, Zwartebroek was founded as a result of the peat extraction in the area.In 1840, it was home to 596 people. In 1850, a church was built in the village.

The Putten raid (Dutch: Razzia van Putten) was a civilian raid conducted by Nazi Germany in occupied Netherlands during the Second World War. On 1 October 1944, a total of 602 men – almost the entire male population of the village – were taken from Putten, in the central Netherlands, and deported to various concentration camps inside Germany. Only 48 returned at the end of the war. The raid was carried out as a reprisal for a Dutch resistance attack on a vehicle carrying personnel from the Wehrmacht.

A small part belongs to the municipality of Putten.It was first mentioned in 1560 as Cruyshaer, and means "sandy ridge with a cross sign". The postal authorities have placed it under Nijkerk. There are no place name signs. There are about 70 living vans in Kruishaar.

Appel (literally "apple") is a hamlet in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality Nijkerk, about 6 km southeast of the city, on the border with the municipality of Barneveld.It was first mentioned in 1146 as Appele. The etymology is unclear and may not be related to apples. The postal authorities have placed it under Nijkerk. In 1840, it was home to 318 people. The grist mill De Hoop was constructed in 1888 and was restored in 2004. In 2007, remains of a wooden castle were found near Appel which dated from around 1100. The hamlet consists of about 60 houses.
