J. J. Pickle Research Campus

The Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) at the University of Texas at Austin, United States, is an advanced computing research center that provides comprehensive advanced computing resources and support services to researchers in Texas and across the US. The mission of TACC is to enable discoveries that advance science and society through the application of advanced computing technologies. Specializing in high performance computing, scientific visualization, data analysis & storage systems, software, research & development and portal interfaces, TACC deploys and operates advanced computational infrastructure to enable computational research activities of faculty, staff, and students of UT Austin. TACC also provides consulting, technical documentation, and training to support researchers who use these resources. TACC staff members conduct research and development in applications and algorithms, computing systems design/architecture, and programming tools and environments. Founded in 2001, TACC is one of the centers of computational excellence in the United States. Through the National Science Foundation (NSF) Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment (XSEDE) project, TACC’s resources and services are made available to the national academic research community. TACC is located on UT's J. J. Pickle Research Campus. TACC collaborators include researchers in other UT Austin departments and centers, at Texas universities in the High Performance Computing Across Texas Consortium, and at other U.S. universities and government laboratories.

How Do You Roll? was a franchise fast-casual sushi restaurant, headquartered in Austin, Texas. The first How Do You Roll? location opened in October 2008 and the company began franchising in early 2010. As of April 2016, it had stores operating in California and Florida, but was later closed.

The Q2 Stadium is a soccer-specific stadium located in the North Burnet section of North Austin, Texas, United States. It is the home of Austin FC, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team that began play in 2021. The stadium hosted its first event on June 16, 2021, an international friendly between the United States women's national team and Nigeria.

North Burnet–Gateway (NBG) is a 2,300 acre neighborhood in northwest Austin, Texas bordered by Walnut Creek to the north, US 183 to the south and southwest, Metric Boulevard to the east, Braker Lane to the northwest, and MoPac (Loop 1) to the west.

McKalla is a planned Capital MetroRail commuter rail infill station in Austin, Texas. The station is being built to provide convenient access to Q2 Stadium. Ground broke on construction on July 18, 2022, and the new station will open on February 24, 2024, coinciding with the first home match of Austin FC's 2024 season. Construction costs are estimated at $13 million. Soon after opening of the new stop, nearby Kramer station is expected to be closed.

Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corporation, originally the Microelectronics and Computer Consortium and widely seen as the acronym MCC, was the first, and at one time one of the largest, computer industry research and development consortia in the United States. MCC ceased operations in 2000 and was formally dissolved in 2004.

Kramer is a Capital MetroRail commuter rail station in Austin, Texas. It is located in Northwest Austin near the corner of Kramer and Braker Lanes. At 1 mile walking distance, Kramer is the closest station to The Domain, a major high-density business, retail, and residential center. Kramer Station is slated to close upon the opening of two new stations: McKalla Place to the South and Broadmoor to the North.

The Domain is a high-density office, retail, and residential center in northwest Austin, Texas, United States that has been described as being "Austin's second downtown". The initial phase of the project was completed in March 2007. It is owned and operated by Endeavor Real Estate Group, Cousins Properties, Simon Property Group, and Stonelake Capital Partners. It is bordered on the west by Union Pacific Railroad, on the west and north by Loop 1, on the south by Braker Lane, and on the east by Burnet Road.

Le Cordon Bleu of Culinary Arts in Austin (LCB-Austin) was a private school located in The Domain, a 235-acre (0.95 km2), multi-use park in Austin, Texas. The cooking school was affiliated with Le Cordon Bleu Schools North America. Originally named Le Chef College of Hospitality Careers, Ronald F. Boston started the school as a chef-apprenticeship program in 1981. In 1999, the school was renamed Texas Culinary Academy. TCA was acquired by Career Education Corporation in August 2001. LCB-Austin operated within a 52,000-square-foot (4,831.0 m2) facility that contained six 2,000-square-foot (185.8 m2) labs, classrooms, a student library, a computer lab, a restaurant, a cafe and a retail store. Also located within the facility was a 100-seat demonstration kitchen. The school operated two on-campus restaurants. Ventana, a 100-seat restaurant which served classical French cuisine, opened in late 2002, and The Bleu River Grille, a casual coffee and sandwich shop.LCB-Austin offered an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts and certificates in Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie & Baking and Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts.

The 2010 Austin suicide attack occurred on February 18, 2010, when Andrew Joseph Stack III deliberately crashed his single-engine Piper Dakota light aircraft into Building I of the Echelon office complex in Austin, Texas, United States, killing himself and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) manager Vernon Hunter. Thirteen others were injured, two severely. The four-story office building housed an IRS field office occupying the top three floors, along with a couple of private businesses on the first floor. Prior to the crash, Stack had posted a suicide note to his website, expressing his disillusionment with corporations and government agencies such as the IRS. Stack is also suspected of having set fire that morning to his two-story North Austin house, which was mostly destroyed. In the aftermath, there was increased debate over the policies of the IRS, and different forms of protest. In response to the attack, the IRS spent more than $38.6 million, with $6.4 million spent to recover and resume work at the building, and over $32 million spent to increase security at other IRS sites in the U.S. However, the spending on security changes was questioned as being ineffective, as none of it would actually prevent airplanes from crashing into the buildings. The building was repaired by December 2011.

Broadmoor is a planned Capital MetroRail commuter rail infill station in Austin, Texas. The station is being built to improve access to The Domain, a major high-density business, retail, and residential center. Construction was expected to begin in September 2020 with service starting in 2022, but was delayed until the station’s groundbreaking on January 18, 2022, thereby pushing the opening date back to 2024. Upon opening of the new station as well as the forthcoming McKalla station at Austin FC’s Q2 Stadium, the nearby Kramer station is expected to close. Brandywine Realty and the Charles Schwab Corporation contributed funds for the station's construction.
