La Valette-du-Var (Provençal Occitan: La Valeta) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France.

The Diocese of Fréjus–Toulon (Latin: Dioecesis Foroiuliensis–Tolonensis; French: Diocèse de Fréjus–Toulon) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church in southeastern France on the Mediterranean coast. The present diocese comprises the territory of the ancient Diocese of Fréjus as well as that of the ancient Diocese of Toulon. In 1957 it was renamed as the Diocese of Fréjus–Toulon.Under the Civil Constitution of the Clergy the département of Var constituted a diocese, absorbing the former ancient dioceses of Toulon, Fréjus, Grasse and Vence. It was suppressed by the Concordat of 1801, re-established ineffectually by that of 1817, and definitively established in 1823, when its assigned territory comprised once more the whole département of Var. A Papal Brief of 1852 authorized the bishop to assume the title of Bishop of Fréjus and Toulon. It was and has remained a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Aix-en-Provence and Arles, The arrondissement of Grasse until 1860 belonged to the département of Var, when it was annexed to that of the Alpes-Maritimes. In 1886 it was separated from Fréjus and attached to the Diocese of Nice. Since 16 May 2000, the Bishop of Fréjus–Toulon has been Bishop Dominique Marie Jean Rey.

The Institut des Sciences de l'Ingénieur de Toulon et du Var (English: Institute of Engineering Sciences of Toulon and the Var), or ISITV, was a French public engineering school. It was located in the south of France, between Toulon and Hyères, on the French Riviera. In 2014, the school merged with Supméca to form a new engineering school called SeaTech. The School was established in 1991 by combining the teaching and research resources of the University of the South, Toulon-Var with support and collaboration from industry.

La Garde (French pronunciation: [la ɡaʁd]; Provençal Occitan: La Garda) is a seaside commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southeastern France. It is located in the Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée, east of the city of Toulon.

Mont Faron is a mountain overlooking the city and roadstead of Toulon, France. It is 584m high. At its peak is a memorial dedicated to the 1944 Allied landings in Provence (Operation Dragoon), and to the liberation of Toulon. The top can be reached either by a cable car from Toulon, or by a steep and narrow road which ascends from the west side and descends on the east side. The road is one of the most challenging stages of the annual Paris–Nice and Tour Méditerranéen bicycle races. From 1952 to 1970, there was a Mont Faron hill climb time trial race.Near the summit there is a zoo which covers an area of 1.5 hectares.

The Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée is the métropole, an intercommunal structure, centred on the city of Toulon. It is located in the Var department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, southeastern France. It was created in January 2018, replacing the communauté d'agglomération that had been created in December 2001. Its area is 366.4 km2. Its population was 438,985 in 2018, of which 176,198 in Toulon proper.

Le Pradet (French pronunciation: [lə pʁadɛ]; Occitan: Lo Pradet) is a commune in the Var department in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in southeastern France. Olive oil, vegetables and wine grape (including rare Tibouren variety used for rose wine) are produced in the local farms.

The Jardin d'acclimatation du Mourillon (8,000 m²) is a municipal botanical garden located at 1053 Littoral Frédéric Mistral, Le Mourillon, Toulon, Var, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, France. It is open daily without charge. The garden was founded in 1887 under the direction of the Société d'Horticulture et d'Acclimatation du Var, and opened to the public in 1889. Badly damaged during bombardments in 1944, it has been rehabilitated under municipal management starting in 1947, with renovations in 1988 and again in 1998 to celebrate the garden's centenary. Today the garden still contains numerous trees planted in the early 1900s. It contains good collections of palm trees (Butia, Phoenix canariensis, Washingtonia, hemp palm, and dwarf palm), evergreens (camphor, Cocculus laurifolius, Photinia serrulata, mimosa, Lagunaria patersonia, and Grevillea), and deciduous trees (catalpa, white poplar, Koelreuteria paniculata, Maclura pomifera). Its plantings include Liliaceae (agave, cordyline, dasylirion, dracaena, yucca), and cactus and cycads (Cycas, Dioon, Encephalartos), as well as Cocculus laurifolius, euonymus, oleander, etc. The garden also contains a bas-relief profile of poet Frédéric Mistral, marble statue of German poet Heinrich Heine sculpted by Danish sculptor Louis Hasselriis (1844-1912) for Elisabeth of Bavaria, and a monument commemorating sailors missing at sea.
