Emneth

Boyces Bridge railway station was a station in Norfolk on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway commonly known as the Upwell Tramway. It was located north of Outwell. It was opened in 1883 along with the rest of the line, and closed to passengers in 1928 and goods in 1966.

Emneth was a railway station, near Wisbech, which served the village of Emneth, Norfolk. The station was opened in 1848 as an extension of the East Anglian Railway's line from Magdalen Road station (now known as Watlington) to Wisbech East. In 1872 Elizabeth Pearce, twelve year-old daughter of a nearby crossing keeper, drowned in the 'Tea-water pit'. The station's location, like that of the neighbouring Middle Drove station, was fairly rural and the line eventually closed in 1968. In October 1942, a hoard of Roman silver coins together with fragments of an urn in which they were stored was found near the station. Emneth's station building survived closure, and has since been converted into a private residence.

Collett's Bridge is a hamlet within the parish of Elm in the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. It is situated on the eastern boundary of the district 1.5 miles east of Elm. It lies just off Gosmoor Lane, adjacent to the Wisbech/Littleport Road. (A1101). The settlement, which is a small group of dwellings, lies alongside the former Wisbech Canal, filled in as a waste disposal site in the early 1970s, and the former tram railway between Wisbech and Upwell. In mid 1990 the housing stock numbered some 20 dwellings.

Elmbridge railway station was a stop on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. It was in a projection of the parish of Emneth, Norfolk but was immediately south-east of the town of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. It was opened on 20 August 1883 to serve nearby settlements and closed to passengers on 2 January 1928. The tramway ceased by closing to goods in 1966.

The Wisbech and Upwell Tramway was a rural standard gauge tramway in East Anglia. It was built by the Great Eastern Railway between Wisbech, Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, and Upwell, now in Norfolk, to carry agricultural produce. Although called a tramway, in many ways it more closely resembled a conventional railway line and paved the way for the passing of the Light Railways Act 1896.

Outwell Basin railway station was a stop on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway in Outwell, Norfolk. It opened in 1883 carrying passenger and goods traffic from nearby farms. It was closed to passengers in 1928, with goods services continuing on the line until 1966. The line it once stood on is now a grassy track.

Emneth Hungate is a small settlement near the village of Emneth in Norfolk, England, near the border with Cambridgeshire. It once had its own Emneth railway station on the now-closed line between Watlington and Wisbech.

Elm is a village and civil parish in the Fenland District of Cambridgeshire, England. In Domesday, it is called Helle.The village is about 11⁄2 miles or 21⁄2 km south of the market town of Wisbech, immediately to the south of the Wisbech by-pass. The county boundary with Norfolk is immediately to the north and north-east. The northern part of Elm village, at Elm Low Road, acts as a suburb of Wisbech. Most of the village straddles the B1101 road, which meanders its way between Wisbech and March. The civil parish had a resident population of 3,295, as recorded during the 2001 United Kingdom census. The population including Coldham, Collett's Bridge, Friday Bridge and Ring's End was 3,962 at the 2011 Census.

Marshland Rural District was a rural district in Norfolk, England from 1894 to 1974.It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Marshland rural sanitary district, and was named after the Freebridge Marshland hundred. It covered an area to the west of King's Lynn on the borders of Lincolnshire and the Isle of Ely. In 1930 a new parish of Nordelph was created in Downham RD, taking land mostly out of the Marshland RD parishes of Upwell and Outwell.During the period 1933-1935 it absorbed most of the area of the disbanded Walsoken Urban District, with other minor boundary changes.In 1974, the district was abolished under the Local Government Act 1972, and became part of the West Norfolk district.

Outwell is a village and civil parish in the borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, in the English county of Norfolk.At the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 2,083, an increase from 1,880 at the 2001 Census.

Marshland St James is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 25.69 km2 (9.92 sq mi) and had a population of 1,137 in 456 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 1,209 at the 2011 Census. The parish church is St James in the deanery of Lynn Marshland, in the archdeaconry of Wisbech. The original Church of England church was St Jame. It was founded in 1837 and closed in 2002. The church did not have a graveyard. The church does not have a graveyard. Marshland Fen Methodist Church was founded before 1907. The Primitive Methodist church was an early 19th century (1807) secession from the Wesleyan Methodist church and was particularly successful in evangelising agricultural and industrial communities at open meetings. In 1932 the Primitive Methodists joined with the Wesleyan Methodists and the United Methodists to form the Methodist Church of Great Britain. Historical geography Marshland St James is about 11 miles S.W. of King's Lynn. It was created as an ecclesiastical parish in 1922, and as a civil parish in 1935, from parts of Clenchwarton, Emneth, Terrington St Clement, Terrington St John, Tilney All Saints, Tilney St Lawrence, Tilney cum Islington, Walpole St Andrew, Walpole St Peter, and West Walton. Beaupré Hall was a large 16th-century house mainly of brick, which was built by the Beaupres in Outwell, Norfolk, England and enlarged by their successors the Bells. Like many of Britain's country houses it was demolished in the mid-20th century.
