Boyces Bridge railway station

Emneth is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. The village is located 2.9 miles (4.7 km) south-east of Wisbech, 12 miles (19 km) south-west of King's Lynn and 46 miles (74 km) west of Norwich, close to the course of the River Nene.

Outwell Basin railway station was a stop on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway in Outwell, Norfolk. It opened in 1883 carrying passenger and goods traffic from nearby farms. It was closed to passengers in 1928, with goods services continuing on the line until 1966. The line it once stood on is now a grassy track.

Collett's Bridge is a hamlet within the parish of Elm in the Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England. It is situated on the eastern boundary of the district 1.5 miles east of Elm. It lies just off Gosmoor Lane, adjacent to the Wisbech/Littleport Road. (A1101). The settlement, which is a small group of dwellings, lies alongside the former Wisbech Canal, filled in as a waste disposal site in the early 1970s, and the former tram railway between Wisbech and Upwell. In mid 1990 the housing stock numbered some 20 dwellings.

Outwell is a village and civil parish in the borough of King's Lynn and West Norfolk, in the English county of Norfolk.At the 2011 Census, the parish had a population of 2,083, an increase from 1,880 at the 2001 Census.

Beaupré Hall was a large 16th-century house mainly of brick, which was built by the Beaupres in Outwell, Norfolk, England and enlarged by their successors the Bells. Like many of Britain's country houses it was demolished in the mid-20th century.

Elm is a village and civil parish in the Fenland District of Cambridgeshire, England. In Domesday, it is called Helle.The village is about 11⁄2 miles or 21⁄2 km south of the market town of Wisbech, immediately to the south of the Wisbech by-pass. The county boundary with Norfolk is immediately to the north and north-east. The northern part of Elm village, at Elm Low Road, acts as a suburb of Wisbech. Most of the village straddles the B1101 road, which meanders its way between Wisbech and March. The civil parish had a resident population of 3,295, as recorded during the 2001 United Kingdom census. The population including Coldham, Collett's Bridge, Friday Bridge and Ring's End was 3,962 at the 2011 Census.

Elmbridge railway station was a stop on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. It was in a projection of the parish of Emneth, Norfolk but was immediately south-east of the town of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire. It was opened on 20 August 1883 to serve nearby settlements and closed to passengers on 2 January 1928. The tramway ceased by closing to goods in 1966.

The Wisbech and Upwell Tramway was a rural standard gauge tramway in East Anglia. It was built by the Great Eastern Railway between Wisbech, Isle of Ely, Cambridgeshire, and Upwell, now in Norfolk, to carry agricultural produce. Although called a tramway, in many ways it more closely resembled a conventional railway line and paved the way for the passing of the Light Railways Act 1896.

Emneth was a railway station, near Wisbech, which served the village of Emneth, Norfolk. The station was opened in 1848 as an extension of the East Anglian Railway's line from Magdalen Road station (now known as Watlington) to Wisbech East. In 1872 Elizabeth Pearce, twelve year-old daughter of a nearby crossing keeper, drowned in the 'Tea-water pit'. The station's location, like that of the neighbouring Middle Drove station, was fairly rural and the line eventually closed in 1968. In October 1942, a hoard of Roman silver coins together with fragments of an urn in which they were stored was found near the station. Emneth's station building survived closure, and has since been converted into a private residence.

Outwell Village railway station was a station in Outwell, Norfolk on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. It opened in 1884 and closed to passengers in 1928. Goods services ran on a while longer, before finishing in 1966. The line provided inspiration for Toby the Tram Engine.

Upwell railway station was a station in Upwell, Norfolk on the Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. It was opened in 1883 to carry passengers and agricultural wares to Wisbech where they would go to market, or be shipped off to other towns or cities. Competition with motor buses led to the station's closure to passenger services in 1928, along with the rest of the line. The line featured in BBC tv film by reporter Fyfe Robertson in 1964. Goods services continued until 1966, carrying produce from the surrounding farms; these are now carried by road. Following closure the line to Wisbech was taken up. The village signs in Upwell still bear a picture of a tram recognising the heritage of the settlement. It was during several visits that the Reverend .W. Awdry, author of the Railway Series, was inspired to come up with the character of Toby the Tram Engine modelled on the trams that worked the line. The site of the former station has recently been converted into a car park for the health centre (doctors' surgery) in Upwell. Reverend W. Awdry used to live in the old vicarage in Emneth, from the window in his attic he could see the trams acting. This led to him inventing the characters Toby the Tram Engine and later on Mavis in Thomas the Tank Engine.

Upwell is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. Upwell village is on the A1101 road, as is Outwell, its conjoined village at the north. The nearest towns are Wisbech to the north-west and Downham Market to the east. The parish covers an area of 27.65 km2 (10.68 sq mi) and had a population of 2,456 in 1,033 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 2,750 at the 2011 Census. And most recently, In the 2021 census the town population has nearly doubled to 4,734.
