Dieksee

Malente is a municipality in the district of Ostholstein, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is about 5 km northwest of Eutin and 35 km north of Lübeck. The cities belonging to this municipality are Timmdorf, Kreuzfeld, Neukirchen, Sieversdorf, Krummsee, Malkwitz, Nüchel, Benz, Rachut, Neversfelde and Söhren with RachutRachut and Neversfelde being part of Malente itself.

The Langensee is a lake in the North German lakeland region of Holstein Switzerland. It lies on the River Schwentine between the lakes of Dieksee (upstream) and Behler See (downstream). It covers an area of 33 hectares (82 acres), is up to 8 metres deep and lies at a height of 22 m above sea level (NN).

The Holstein Switzerland Nature Park (German: Naturpark Holsteinische Schweiz) is a German federal nature park in the Holstein Switzerland region of Schleswig-Holstein. In 1986 an association called the Naturpark Holsteinische Schweiz was founded. Its members were the districts of Ostholstein, Plön and Segeberg and the parishes within the nature park. The Nature Park Information Centre is located in the so-called Uhrenhaus ("clock house") on the estate of Plön Castle.

Holstein Switzerland (German: Holsteinische Schweiz) is a hilly area with a patchwork of lakes and forest in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, reminiscent of Swiss landscape. Its highest point is the Bungsberg (168 metres above sea level). It is a designated nature park as well as an important tourist destination in Northern Germany situated between the cities of Kiel and Lübeck.

The Behler See is a lake in the Holstein Switzerland region of North Germany. It lies between Timmdorf (municipality of Malente) to the east and the town of Plön to the west. To the east it transitions into the Langensee, to the west into the Höftsee. All these lakes are crossed from east to west by the River Schwentine. The Behler See is named after the village of Behl in the municipality of Grebin, which lies to the north. It has an area of 277 hectares (680 acres), is up to 43 metres deep and its surface elevation is about 22 m above sea level (NN).

Grebin is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. The districts of Behl, Breitenstein, Kakelsberg, Görnitz, Treufeld and Schönweide, which was incorporated in 1974, belong to Grebin.

Bösdorf is a municipality in the district of Plön, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

The Höftsee is a lake in the Holstein Switzerland in North Germany. It lies on the River Schwentine east of the town of Plön between the Behler See and the Großer Plöner See. It has an area of about 18 hectares (44 acres), is up to 16 metres deep and lies about 22 m above sea level (NN). There is a watermill on the Höftsee that makes use of the drop between the Höftsee and the Großer Plöner See. The associated weir is impassable to boats. There is however a boat slide that considerably eases the transportation of boats over land.

King Alfred School, Plön, was a boarding school for children whose parents were British military or civil service personnel working in Germany; between 1948 and 1959, it educated approximately 4000 pupils aged between 11 and 18 years old.

Holsteinische Schweiz station (German: Bahnhof Holsteinische Schweiz) is a railway station by the Kellersee lake on the Malente-Gremsmühlen–Lütjenburg railway in Schleswig-Holstein. It was opened on 25 May 1890. The entire route was built due to the efforts of businessman Johannes Janus, who ran the Hotel Holsteinische Schweiz ("Holstein Switzerland") after which the station was named. Platform 1 had a roof which was dismantled again in 1896 in order to be re-erected at Plön's prince's station (strictly Plön-Parkstation). Since 1910 this roof has graced the home platform at Plön station. Regular passenger and goods services on the Malente-Gremsmühlen-Lütjenburg line, and therefore at Holsteinische Schweiz station were closed in 2000. Currently part of the line has been converted to 600 mm gauge and is back in service as a heritage railway. From Easter 2009 regular services have returned to Holsteinische Schweiz station. The station is serviced by the 600 mm narrow-gauge line called the Hein Schüttelborg.

The Marineunteroffizierschule (MUS) is a naval petty officer school of the German Navy in Plön. It reports to the Head of Personnel, Training, Organization in the Navy Command in Rostock.
