Behler See

The Langensee is a lake in the North German lakeland region of Holstein Switzerland. It lies on the River Schwentine between the lakes of Dieksee (upstream) and Behler See (downstream). It covers an area of 33 hectares (82 acres), is up to 8 metres deep and lies at a height of 22 m above sea level (NN).

The Höftsee is a lake in the Holstein Switzerland in North Germany. It lies on the River Schwentine east of the town of Plön between the Behler See and the Großer Plöner See. It has an area of about 18 hectares (44 acres), is up to 16 metres deep and lies about 22 m above sea level (NN). There is a watermill on the Höftsee that makes use of the drop between the Höftsee and the Großer Plöner See. The associated weir is impassable to boats. There is however a boat slide that considerably eases the transportation of boats over land.

King Alfred School, Plön, was a boarding school for children whose parents were British military or civil service personnel working in Germany; between 1948 and 1959, it educated approximately 4000 pupils aged between 11 and 18 years old.

The Parnass Tower (German: Parnaß-Turm) is an observation tower in the town of Plön in the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It sits on the summit of the low hill of Parnaß (a terminal moraine). It is a 20-metre-high, steel, lattice tower built on a stone plinth with an observation platform 20 metres above the ground (and 85 metres above sea level). The tower was erected in 1888 by the Plön Tourist Association (Plöner Verschönerungsverein). Following renovation work in 1985 it has been reopened as an observation tower. On the southern side of the stone base of the tower are three panels with: an Iron Cross with the coat of arms of Schleswig-Holstein and the dates 1848 and 1849 (in memory of the First Schleswig War) a portrait relief of Emperor William I an Iron Cross with a "W" and the date 1870 (in memory of the Franco-Prussian War)From the top of the tower are views over the town of Plön and all of the surrounding countryside with its lakes.

Plön (German pronunciation: [ˈpløːn] ; Holsatian: Plöön) is the district seat of the Plön district in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and has about 8,700 inhabitants. It lies right on the shores of Schleswig-Holstein's biggest lake, the Great Plön Lake, as well as on several smaller lakes, touching the town on virtually all sides. The town's landmark is Plön Castle, a chateau built in the 17th century on a hill overlooking the town. Plön has a grammar school with a 300-year history, and is home to a German Navy non-commissioned officer school and the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Biology. The town, nestled as it is in the hilly, wooded lake district of Holstein Switzerland (Holsteinische Schweiz), also has importance in the tourism industry.

Vierer See is a lake in Bösdorf, Holsteinische Schweiz, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. At an elevation of 19 m, its surface area is 1.32 km².

The Holstein Switzerland Nature Park (German: Naturpark Holsteinische Schweiz) is a German federal nature park in the Holstein Switzerland region of Schleswig-Holstein. In 1986 an association called the Naturpark Holsteinische Schweiz was founded. Its members were the districts of Ostholstein, Plön and Segeberg and the parishes within the nature park. The Nature Park Information Centre is located in the so-called Uhrenhaus ("clock house") on the estate of Plön Castle.
