Woodside, Telford

The Coalbrookdale Coalfield is a coalfield in Shropshire in the English Midlands. It extends from Broseley in the south, northwards to the Boundary Fault which runs northeastwards from the vicinity of The Wrekin past Lilleshall. The former coalfield has been built on by the new town of Telford.

Haberdashers' Abraham Darby Academy in Telford, Shropshire, England, is acoeducational secondary school on Ironbridge Road in Madeley which was founded in 1937. It is named after Abraham Darby III and is situated one mile from the Iron Bridge which he built in 1779. In September 2008 the school was converted to an academy through a link to Haberdashers' Adams, and was accepted by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). The school is a subsidiary of Haberdashers' Adams Grammar School in Newport. It is also part of the HWMAT group of schools. The new-style-academy is sponsored by the Worshipful Company of Haberdashers'.

Lightmoor Junction was a railway junction between Ironbridge Power Station at Buildwas and Madeley Junction in Shropshire, England. From Lightmoor Junction, a line ran towards Wellington via Doseley and Horsehay. Following the complete closure of this line in 1981, Lightmoor Junction Signal Box was retained to control the connection between the double-track section towards Ironbridge Power Station and the single-track section towards Madeley Junction. The signal box closed on 23 October 2006, when the line towards Ironbridge Power Station was singled, with new signalling controlled from Madeley Junction Signal Box (since 2011 transferred to West Midlands Signalling Centre). Telford Steam Railway use a portion of the former line to Wellington, and intend to use the signal box as part of their heritage railway. Negotiations for the lease and occupation of Lightmoor Junction Signal Box were concluded and keys handed over to TSR by Network Rail officials on 8 August 2008.

Madeley Academy (formerly Madeley Court School) is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Madeley in the English county of Shropshire.Previously a community school administered by Telford and Wrekin Council. Madeley Court School converted to academy status in April 2007 and was renamed Madeley Academy. The school relocated from its previous site on Court Street to a new campus on Castlefields Way in 2009.Madeley Academy offers GCSE and BTEC as programmes of study for pupils, while students in the sixth form have the option to study from a range of A-levels and further BTECs. The school also has a specialism in sports.

Aqueduct is a village in the Telford and Wrekin borough in Shropshire, England. It forms part of the Dawley Hamlets civil parish alongside Doseley, Horsehay, Lightmoor, Little Dawley and Spring Village.

Lightmoor Platform railway station was a station to the east of Coalbrookdale, Shropshire, England. The station was opened in 1907 and closed in 1962. The station was situated on the Madeley Junction to Buildwas Line to the west of Lightmoor Junction.

Little Dawley, formerly known as Dawley Parva, is a village in the Telford and Wrekin borough in Shropshire, England. It forms part of the Dawley Hamlets civil parish alongside Aqueduct, Doseley, Horsehay, Lightmoor and Spring Village.

Madeley Court is a 16th-century country house in Madeley, Shropshire, England which was originally built as a grange to the medieval Wenlock Priory. It has since been restored as a hotel. The house is ashlar built in two storeys to an L-shaped plan and is a Grade II* listed building. To the south west of the house is a 16th-century gatehouse which is separately grade I listed.

St Michael's Church, Madeley, is located near the centre of Madeley, Shropshire, England. It is one of three places of worship that constitute the Parish of Madeley, a Church of England parish. The parish is part of the Diocese of Hereford.

Jackfield Tile Museum is a museum which presents the history of the British decorative tile industry between 1840 and 1960, the period in which this factory and that of Maw & Co nearby played an important part in this industry. The museum lies in the village of Jackfield, near Broseley, on the south bank of the River Severn in the Ironbridge Gorge, in Shropshire, England. It is located within a World Heritage Site, the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution. It is one of the ten Ironbridge Gorge museums administered by the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust. The museum is housed in a decorative tile factory building, the former works of Craven Dunnill and Company, that is still used to produce tiles, particularly encaustic tiles. Jackfield is one of the oldest known ceramic production centres in Shropshire, a tradition dating back to the 16th century. The Thursfield family settled in Jackfield during the early 18th century; Jackfield wares are attributed to the family. Craven Dunnill gave up its Jackfield works in the early 1950s, moving to Bridgnorth, and the buildings were used by a firm making iron and bronze castings. In 1983, the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust purchased the works with the aid of an Architectural Heritage Fund grant. In 1989, tile manufacture restarted on the site and in 2001 Craven Dunnill took over this business again. The collections include William De Morgan and other historic tilers.

Jackfield is a village in the Telford and Wrekin borough of Shropshire, England, lying on the south bank of River Severn in the Ironbridge Gorge, downstream from Ironbridge. Like many of the settlements in the area, it is notable for its place in the Industrial Revolution.

Madeley is a constituent town of Telford and a civil parish in the borough of Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, England. The parish had a population of 17,935 at the 2001 census.Madeley is recorded in the Domesday Book, having been founded before the 8th century. Historically, Madeley's industrial activity has largely been in mining, and later, manufacturing, which is still a large employer in the town, along with service industries. Parts of the parish fall within the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Gorge, the site of The Iron Bridge, and a key area in the development of Industry.
