Crystal Palace Park Cricket Ground was a cricket ground in Crystal Palace in south-east London. It was located in Crystal Palace Park in the shadow of The Crystal Palace. The ground was established on 3 June 1857 and used for first-class cricket between 1864 and 1906. The site of the ground was part of the county of Kent when it was first established and it was initially used by Kent County Cricket Club in the 1860s before becoming the main ground for London County Cricket Club between 1900 and 1904. The site of the ground is now in the London Borough of Bromley and forms part of the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.

Penge East railway station is on the Chatham Main Line in England, serving part of the Penge and Sydenham areas in the London Borough of Bromley, south London. It is 7 miles 15 chains (11.6 km) down the line from London Victoria and is situated between Sydenham Hill and Kent House. The station and all trains that call are operated by Southeastern, as part of the Bromley South Metro service. Penge East is in Travelcard Zone 4.

Sydenham (London) is a railway station in Sydenham in the London Borough of Lewisham, South London. Originally opened in 1839, the station is located on the former Croydon Canal, which is now a branch of the Brighton Main Line, often known as the Sydenham Corridor. Sydenham falls within Travelcard Zone 3 and is served by London Overground and Southern. The station is 6 miles 32 chains (6.40 miles, 10.30 km) down the line from London Bridge.

Sydenham () is a district of south-east London, England, which is shared between the London boroughs of Lewisham, Bromley and Southwark. Prior to the creation of the County of London in 1889, Sydenham was located in Kent, bordering Surrey. Historically, the area was very affluent, with the Crystal Palace being relocated to Sydenham Hill in 1854. Today, Sydenham is a diverse area, with a population of 28,378 (2011 census) and borders Forest Hill, Dulwich, Crystal Palace, Penge, Beckenham, Catford and Bellingham.

Saint John the Evangelist is the Church of England parish church of Penge, Kent (now the London Borough of Bromley), in the Diocese of Rochester, Greater London. It is located on Penge High Street, and was erected 1847 to designs of architects Edwin Nash & J. N. Round. Later in 1861, Nash alone added the gabled aisles, and in 1866 the transepts. The Pevsner Buildings of England series guides describe it as "Rock-faced ragstone. West tower and stone broach spire. Geometrical tracery, treated in Nash's quirky way. The best thing inside is the open timber roofs, those in the transepts especially evocative, eight beams from all four directions meeting in mid air. It has been Grade II listed since 1990.The church is prevented from dominating the skyline of Penge by the distant tower farther south on Beckhenham Road of the Fortress Romanesque-looking Congregational church, built 1912 to designs by P. Morley Horder with passage aisles and clerestory, and shafts on large, excellently carved corbels. The early funding of the church came from John Dudin Brown who was a Thames wharfinger.

Walter Cobb was a department store located in Sydenham in South London. It opened in 1860 and closed in 1981.

The Gorilla sculpture by David Wynne stands beside the Lower Lake in Crystal Palace Park, in Bromley in south-east London. Completed in 1961 and installed in 1962, the black marble sculpture depicts Guy the Gorilla, a western lowland gorilla brought from West Africa to London Zoo in 1947. It became a Grade II listed structure in 2016.

The Free Watermen and Lightermen's Almshouses (generally known as the Royal Watermen's Almshouses) on Beckenham Road / Penge High Street, Penge, London Borough of Bromley were built in 1840–1841 to designs by the architect George Porter by the Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the City of London for retired company freemen and their widows. It is the most prominent and oldest of the Victorian almshouses in Penge. In 1973, the almspeople were moved to a new site in Hastings, and the original buildings were converted into private homes. They have been Grade II listed since 1973.

Sydenham High School is an independent school for 4- to 18-year-old girls located in London, England. Sydenham High School was founded by the Girls’ Public Day School Trust in 1887. Since then, the original school roll of 20 pupils has grown to 724 girls. The school is separated into the senior and prep schools, each with a separate site on Westwood Hill in Sydenham.

Kirkdale School (1964 - 1980s) was a small, independent free school located at 186 Kirkdale, Sydenham, London, England. During the entirety of the school's existence it was run as a parent/teacher co-operative. Kirkdale is one of several free schools to have been established in the United Kingdom in the twentieth century. Others include (Sands School in Devon, Summerhill in Suffolk and Kilquhanity School in the south-west Scotland). Unlike some free schools, Kirkdale was not established in a rural idyll but within a small plot in London.

Penge West railway station is located in Penge, a district of the London Borough of Bromley in south London. The station is operated by London Overground, with Overground and Southern trains serving the station. Thameslink and some Southern services pass through the station. It is 7 miles 15 chains (7.19 miles, 11.57 km) down the line from London Bridge, in Travelcard Zone 4. Penge East station is a short walk away and has services to London Victoria, Bromley South and Orpington. Crystal Palace station is also within walking distance and has more frequent trains to London Bridge.Penge West station forms part of the new southbound route of the London Overground East London line that opened on 23 May 2010. Penge West station provides convenient access to The Dinosaur Park via the south gate of the Crystal Palace Park.
