The Soulanges Canal is an abandoned shipping canal in Quebec, Canada. It follows the north shore of the Saint Lawrence River between Pointe-des-Cascades and Coteaux-Landing, bypassing the rapids between Lake Saint-Louis and Lake Saint-Francis. In between, it passes through the towns of Les Cèdres and Coteau-du-Lac. It superseded the first Beauharnois Canal which was on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence. It is 23 kilometers (14 mi) long and had a 4.3-meter (14.1 ft) draught. Five locks measuring 85.3 m × 14 m (279.9 ft × 45.9 ft) give a total rise of 25 meters (82 ft).The Soulanges Canal was named after the Soulanges Seigneury which was granted in 1702 by Governor Louis-Hector de Callière to Pierre-Jacques de Joybert, Knight and Lord of Soulanges.Operation of the Soulanges Canal was powered by a small hydro electric generating station. "Le Petit Pouvoir" is located near the middle of the canal and provided power for the motorized lock gates, electrical operation of the swing bridges, and illumination for the entire length of the canal at night. It was the first canal in the world to have its entire passageway lit by night, allowing round-the-clock operation. It opened in 1899 and remained in operation until 1958 when it was in turn superseded by an enlarged Beauharnois Canal which is now part of the Saint Lawrence Seaway. Today, a popular cycling path follows the route of the canal. In the past there have been plans to reopen the canal to pleasure boats but these have not materialized. On May 22, 1974, five college women were killed when their car was hit by another, and they were pushed into the canal. Four of the women were students at Potsdam State College in Potsdam, NY. The other was a student at Albany State College in Albany, NY.

The 1981 Peter Jackson Classic was contested from July 2–5 at Summerlea Golf & Country Club. It was the 9th edition of the Peter Jackson Classic, and the third edition as a major championship on the LPGA Tour. This event was won by Jan Stephenson.

Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot is the largest of four municipalities located on Île Perrot, west of the island of Montreal, Quebec. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census was 10,654. It hosts the island's first church built in 1740 originally situated at Pointe-du-Moulin which was reconstituted as the Chapelle du Souvenir in 1953 beside the church of Sainte-Jeanne-de-Chantal across from the town hall.

The Melocheville Tunnel is a tunnel connecting Beauharnois and Melocheville in Quebec, Canada. It is a segment of Route 132 located near the Beauharnois generating station. The tunnel measures 227.6 m. Until 1991, it was called the Beauharnois Tunnel.

Pincourt (French pronunciation: [pɛ̃kuʁ]) is a municipality on the island of Île Perrot, off the western tip of the island of Montreal, Quebec. The population as of the 2021 Canadian census was 14,751. The town shares the island with the three other municipalities of Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot, Terrasse Vaudreuil and L'Île-Perrot, bordering on each one. The south end of the Ottawa River (Rivière des Outaouais) flows between Vaudreuil-Dorion and Pincourt, defining the town's western boundary. Many houses, condos and townhouses are newly built as the town has undergone a building boom, which also included the opening of the new francophone Chêne-Bleu high school. The municipality also has two bilingual primary schools and one French primary school. Several parks and natural protected areas are open throughout the year for recreation.

The Town of Île-Perrot (French/Official Name: Ville de l'Île-Perrot) is a town and municipality on Île Perrot in southwestern Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census was 10,756. The town is at the western end of Lake Saint-Louis, and borders the local island communities of Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Pincourt and Notre-Dame-de-l'Île-Perrot. It also includes Dowker Island and the small Claude and Bellevue Islands (Île Claude and Île Bellevue).

Le Faubourg de l'Île, formerly known as Centre d'achat Île-Perrot, is an enclosed shopping mall located in Pincourt, Quebec, on Cardinal-Léger Boulevard at the intersection of 101 Cardinal-Léger Boulevard and Exit 35 on Highway 20 (Autoroute du Souvenir). Le Faubourg de l'Île is named in reference to its location on the island Île-Perrot located on the St-Lawrence River between the island of Montreal and the mainland at the junction of the Ottawa River and the St-Lawrence River (going into the Great Lakes). Le Faubourg de l'Île is strategically located in Pincourt right at the entrance of the city beside the Taschereau Bridge, a bridge linking Pincourt, on Île-Perrot, to Vaudreuil-Dorion, in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RMC across the West Channel of the Ottawa River . Cardinal-Léger Boulevard in one of the main commercial artery in Pincourt (the other one being Boulevard de l'Île), crossing the whole city from North to South. Le Faubourg de l'Île is located near the Train Terminal Gare Pincourt Terrasse-Vaudreuil.

Pincourt-Terrasse-Vaudreuil is a commuter rail station operated by Exo in Terrasse-Vaudreuil, Quebec, Canada. As of October 2020, on weekdays, 9 of 11 inbound trains and 11 of 12 outbound trains on the line call at this station; one train each way is short turned and one inbound train skips the stop. On weekends, all trains (four on Saturday and three on Sunday in each direction) call here.The station is located at the corner of 3e Avenue and 5e Boulevard, a short distance from the Boulevard Cardinal-Léger exit of Autoroute 20. It has two side platforms connected by the 3e Avenue level crossing, and is equipped with shelters but no station building.

The Beauharnois generating station is a run-of-the-river hydroelectric power station along the Saint Lawrence Seaway on the Saint Lawrence River, in Quebec, Canada. The station was built in three phases, and comprises 36 turbines, capable of generating up to 1,903 MW of electrical power. Constructions on the facility began in 1930 and was completed in 1961.The facility was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1990.

Île-Perrot station is a commuter rail station operated by Exo in L'Île-Perrot, Quebec, Canada. It is served by the Vaudreuil–Hudson line. As of October 2020, on weekdays, 9 of 11 inbound trains and 11 of 12 outbound trains on the line call at this station; one train each way is short turned and one inbound train skips the stop. On weekends, all trains (four on Saturday and three on Sunday in each direction) call here.The station is located on Boulevard Perrot. Unusually, the station's two side platforms do not face each other but are located some 80 metres apart on either side of the Boulevard Perrot level crossing. The platforms are also unusually short, to the extent that passengers can only disembark from the rear two cars of their train. There is no station building, and only the inbound platform is equipped with a single shelter.

Taschereau Bridge is a bridge linking Pincourt, on Île Perrot, to Vaudreuil-Dorion, in the Vaudreuil-Soulanges RMC across the West Channel of the Ottawa River. The bridge was originally built in 1925, and was doubled in 1964, as part of the same project as Galipeault Bridge, which links the island to Montreal Island, but it has been maintained independently since then. Both bridges carry four lanes of Quebec Autoroute 20, which becomes Harwood Boulevard on the Dorion side. The bridge also carries a bicycle path, and is part of Route Verte 5.The widening of this bridge and Galipeault Bridge in 1964, both of them from two lanes to four, was done in a bid to appease Perrot Island residents and merchants, who were worried that the construction of nearby Île aux Tourtes Bridge, which provides a way around the island, would hurt their businesses. A medium-size shopping mall, Le Faubourg de l'Île, was built next to the bridge on the Pincourt side, at the Cardinal Léger exit. Like Galipeault Bridge, which it continues, Taschereau Bridge was built next to a Grand Trunk Railroad bridge that was built in 1854, and was the first fixed link between Montreal and the mainland. The bridge was named after Louis-Alexandre Taschereau, who was Premier of Quebec at the time of its inauguration.
