MetalDays is a heavy metal music festival held annually in Lake Velenje, Velenje, Slovenia. From 2004 till 2022 it was held in Sotočje, Tolmin, Slovenia. The festival has been more popular every year with more media coverage, and has seen bands like Megadeth, Slayer, Amon Amarth, Volbeat and Sabaton and many more play at the festival. In 2010 the tickets were limited to 12,000, but with the new location, the limit has been increased to 25,000. MetalDays is also known for its sustainability and ecology initiatives and has won a greener future award 5 years in a row.2012 was the last year when the name Metalcamp was used. Since 2013 the festival is called MetalDays.In 2023, the location has changed from Sotočje, Tolmin, Slovenia to Lake Velenje, Velenje, Slovenia.In September 2022, a new Metal festival in Tolmin called Tolminator was announced. This festival is much smaller with tickets limited to 5,000.

Modrejce (pronounced [mɔˈdɾeːi̯tsɛ]) is a settlement on the right bank of the Soča River north of Most na Soči in the Municipality of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia.

The Idrijca is a river flowing through the Idrija Hills and Cerkno Hills in Slovenia. It is 60 kilometres (37 mi) long. It rises near Vojsko, flows towards northeast and after passing through Idrija turns to the northwest. After passing through Spodnja Idrija and Cerkno it joins the Soča in Most na Soči. It has a pluvio-nival regime and belongs to the Adriatic Sea Basin.The river basin has an area of 598 square kilometres (231 sq mi). The major tributaries are the Belca, Zala, Cerknica, and Bača from the right and the Nikomlja, Kanošica, and Trebušica from the left. One of the right tributaries is also the Jezernica River, which originates from the Wild Lake (Slovene: Divje jezero). Being only 55 m long, the Jezernica is the shortest river in Slovenia. The river has many fish, among which the Salmo marmoratus, the rainbow trout, and the Grayling are noteworthy. In the past, timber was driven down the Idrijca to Idrija to be used as pillars in the Idrija mercury mine. Special logging sluices (Sln. klavže) were employed for this purpose from the 17th until the 19th century. The area of the upper Idrijca has been proclaimed the Upper Idrijca Landscape Park. It encompasses numerous karst features and diverse plant species. During World War II, Pavla Partisan Hospital stood there.

Most na Soči (pronounced [ˈmoːst na ˈsoːtʃi]; formerly Sveta Lucija or Sveta Lucija na Mostu, German: Sankt Luzia) is a town in the Municipality of Tolmin in the Littoral region of Slovenia. It is located on a rocky crest above the confluence of Soča and Idrijca rivers. In the past these two riverbeds, deeply carved into the rocky slopes, provided the settlement with excellent protection from intruders. Due to the nearby Doblar hydro plant, the basins of the river were entirely inundated and below the settlement a vast reservoir was formed, which now attracts both fishermen and visitors, who can stroll along some well-kept panoramic paths.
